Vern look at the bright side, we probably only have to wait another 3 weeks to find out what's next on the agenda
I'm loving the 700 but I'm already getting bored going back and for from Rainham to Dartford think I will just use it on scenario planner on the bml
That is the problem with SEHS. Only one route in SEHS is a complete run .Dartford station is great station, is busy but doesn’t feel right giving up your service. That is why for me the BML is better in my opinion. In BML you have 3 complete run services, Victoria to Gatwick,Brighton,Reigate
This is why I would like to see another route from maybe Victoria or Charing Cross to give the 465 a complete run. There is one complete run on SEHS and that is the class 395's on the St. Pancras to Faversham services. The 700 wouldn't really have a complete run on LBN as they would enter or leave the map at East Croydon. It would be nice to see it on BML as there are a lot of services not there as a result of there being no layer for them.
Thanks for letting me know. Going to had to edit my post. I don't like giving bad information I've should had done my homework better.
Yes it is one of the best trains in the sim in my opinion. I know another third rail route would not be welcome at the moment by many, but I wouldn't moan about one for the 465.
Well it is no biggie. I just looked on the national rail enquiries site and some of those now from St. Pancras go to Ramsgate, I don't know if any of the ones in the sim do, maybe it has changed since the SEHS's timetable inception, but there are definatley still some which terminate at Faversham.
In 2019, when the in game timetable is set, there were 2tph running from St Pancras - Faversham with services extending to Ramsgate at hourly intervals, nowadays there is only 1tph with all services running through to Ramsgate apart from a few extra peak time services which still terminate at Faversham.
I'll give the 700 a very good look in the next couple of days. I'll compare it to the AP TSC version and see what I can come up with. So far it has been a good experience. I'll leave one of the windows open to get better sound out of the traction motors and brakes
Hi. Yes I have tried the contact the signaller option, but nothing happens. On the scenario where you rescue a failed set (I forget what it is called) I even tried creeping forward through the signal, bit that just gave me a Sad and slammed the anchors on.
Mmmh, you’re going to need someone with more knowledge than me then I’m afraid. Sorry I couldn’t help. If no one comes up with anything you may have to raise a ticket with DTG. Good luck.
What would be amazing would be to fill in the missing piece out of Victoria on BML through to where the trains appear on SEHS. Then merging them so you can do the complete run. Sadly I think that is wishful thinking in the medium term, and probably the long term!
Can anyone or DTG Alex confirm what has been removed in terms of layers and services from the trimmed down performance timetable?
With the update coming today, I will also add that I do not agree with the decision to limit the journey mode timetable on PC. Again another area of the game being limited by consoles. I dont even have the best PC in the world and its managed the current version very well with no issues. Journey mode on PC should have been left as it is, I hope this is not something we will see often and I also hope modders can reverse this via modding also.
I like the new timetable layout on sehs atleast I can take the 465 on a decent run again from Dartford to Faversham
That's interesting, as for me on ps4 they were definitely missing as ai when i drove a class 395 yesterday
I'd be one of them in that category, unless it was set in the 70's/80's era, 90's at a push, as long it had slam doors and some thumpers.
I was just pondering that and now DTG have catered (again) for the ultra modern 3rd rail market, time to give us old dinosaurs something to enjoy. Was always partial to the old L&SE add on for MSTS particularly the circle round from Victoria to London Bridge etc., plus Crystal Palace. That would hit the spot with a 4 EPB. Or the SW main line through the New Forest maybe Southampton to Poole with 4 REP/4TC (maybe the CIG or VEP too), would be wonderful with the 33's taking over at Bournemouth and 47's on the inter regional services.
I’ve held off from purchasing this and thankfully so- Until an AC route for this comes out like ECML south I will not be getting it(Unless of course it is included in a route)
Have found a service I can’t complete on PS5. 5P78, Rainham to Rochester Down Loop. Pull up to the loop and get prompted to open doors at a disused station. No surprises but lack of passengers on an empty service fail to load/unload and therefore unable to continue with service. After waiting a minute with the doors open, the service does complete. Maybe an error with the prompt asking to load/unload passengers on this one.
I am stationary, I have even tried creeping forward past the signal to see what happens it I just get a SPAD event and the anchors slam on.
Yep, we shouldn't be getting our experience on PC downgraded because 10 year old generation 8 consoles can't handle stuff.
It wasn't limited by a gen 8 console. The reason for the lighter timetable is the series s, although gen 9, struggles due to low memory. But you still have access to a full timetable so nothing being limited. Journey mode is just journey mode.
From my end, only the tgv layer was removed for the light timetable. There is also less static ai and 700 ai services from that article dtg posted
On PS5 does square + down arrow not do “sanding” for anyone else? Looks like that’s not working for the 700.
What's the best practice for starting off in the 700? I've been starting at 50% throttle and the banging it to 100% once i hit 10mph. I don't get wheelslip, but imagine it's not the most comfortable for the passengers. I'm only just keeping to time though- i imagine the train is a bit more responsive on AC power?
It's much more responsive on AC power, you can slap it down on an AC route and try it out. It's like a different train completely.
on dc that’s probably acceptable, or just gradually accelerate increasing like 20% every 2 seconds. On AC it really depends, some drivers irl do feel like they whack it in 100%, but i think like i said with the 20% every 2 seconds would be fine
Really enjoying the class 700! It's a joy to see how busy parts of SEHS become once you add this train on. Also, there's a solid bunch of BML runs in Creators Club. Same as everyone else here, I'm hoping to see the 700 on another route in the future (maybe MML or ECML) and for an updated version of BML which can support more rolling stock being added. Fingers crossed…
I’m really enjoying the 700 on the BML. Thank you for all for making scenarios. Is where the 700 belongs. I have a question, does the 700 in real life takes so long to accelerate to 90 in DC mode?
It's really great looking out of that big window it's great on the bml the acceleration thing was what I was going to bring up it's quite slow getting up to speed
Having a blast as I tick off my Class 700 Service bucket list:- 9L01 0537 London Bridge to East Grinstead Norwood Junction to South Croydon 9R11 0832 Bedford to Three Bridges (Diverted) Streatham Common - Three Bridges 5T78 Brighton to Three Bridges Depot ECS (Train taken out of service Issue with Train) Brighton to Three Bridges 9P41 1447 Luton to Rainham (Diverted via Swanley due to signal failure around the Dartford area)
I must admit the 700 has given me a new love for LBN. If anyone has any recommendations for any LBN scenarios you have played please let me know, whether it be on this thread (the one on the link below) or privately if you prefer. Edit: I just decided to make a thread so they would all be together and not clog this thread up so here it is: Best class 700 CC scenarios
Honestly, despite moaning from some, I'd hazard a guess that actually probably a lot more players would be quite happy for another UK third rail route - especially considering if it were similar to another London Commuter and/or SEHS (or even ECW in terms of quality) which are some, if not, the best routes/timetables in the entire TSW series, not forgetting the plethora of existing locos which means no lackluster or empty stations or timetables!
I would love to see the networkers in another route, but it would have to be in their early years so that we could have a slam door come as the new unit. It is modern SE 3rd rail I wouldn't touch again with a bargepole in a new release. Obviously, I would like to see the old Eastern Region first but I have nowt against backdated 3rd rail content.
I don't play journey mode, but two things: a) DTG made a journey mode - so they must see something in it b) From comments on this forum a lot of people like playing this as their first point of play through, indeed often they prefer this mode to others. So, why are we seeing people saying it is "just journey mode" and acting like it is a meaningless frivolity? The new patch also applies to PCs of whatever power, not just consoles. I am a bit uncomfortable about this change, we have had at least 24 hours of people happily playing journey mode with the "full fat" timetable, and now they have had it removed, whether it is warrented or not. Its just an over reach, plain and simple. Give people the choice - inside of journey mode - as to which timetable is best for them, and stop downplaying your own content.
Honestly I was expecting issues but first two days I was pleasantly surprised and seems to be self inflicted and I think that’s the frustrating part.but what can you do but move on and hope for the best. I’m sure this was the last nothing they wanted after a very positive launch of the 700.
