No sure if this is going be be reversable as they did mentioned it on the 700 live stream . And on the patch noted it says by default In journey mode would us the smaller timetable. I don’t use journey mode but I know lots of players do and that right there would ruin the immersion and players of buying high end PC and gen 9 consoles. I hope there’s a solution on the horizon with what we hope is a core update to deal with this . “SouthEastern High Speed Player will no longer spawn on foot at a random location when starting a service. Added multiple options for a ‘Reduced timetable’ and a ‘Full timetable’. The reduced timetable is smaller and less memory-demanding, primarily to help performance on certain consoles, and will mainly remove some static stock and less-visible AI services. For more information on why we’re adding this, please read our July Roadmap. Players will have the smaller timetable by default in Journey Mode, and the option to try the more memory-intensive timetable in the services menu. Fixed a crash when attempting to load certain SEHS services. Re-added NTP Class 47 back to the service list”
This case is different. The 700 is brilliant (tho the sound mix could be louder). But then DTG came back and nerfed the timetable- not just that, but wiped out all our previous progress.
Yeah the 700 is nice! Did you figure out the problem with changing cabs in the end? I know I didn't actually realize that had happened to me as well until after my comment as I went to play the game. Even I'm confused as to why there is a need for another timetable... Everything ran fine, I don't remember seeing people complaining about the performance on Xbox to the point that stuff had to be removed from the route. Also why has our timetable medals moved to the reduced one, that doesn't make sense since.
That is indeed a good question, since I aquired the DLC yesterday because of the positive feedback! I need to make more than one run to provide any useful feedback but indeed I wonder what happened
As I mentioned somewhere yesterday, either South London Network with an EPB or Southampton to Poole with the DC king - the 4REP with 4TC and a bit of Crompton thrash from Bournemouth to Poole.
I can only echo the sentiments about the creator scenarios on the creators club, makes the add-on way more fun, however.... If you're going to go to the trouble of making and uploading a scenario, please, PLEASE give us all the information we need to find the additional liveries, just saying 'x by x' is really unhelpful due to the way you can't search by creator, and the name has to be pretty exact to find it, just putting 'thameslink 700' isn't enough.
Well yes that would be the best compromise. I would dearly love to see some slam door EMU's in the sim. But as a model the networker is up there with the best.
Once again DTG nearly get it right. But, in their own inimitable style, manage to get something basic so wrong in the process. This time, the audio level. And once again I ask, did anyone really do any real world testing? Where is the quality control? If they’d have said to me: “do us a favour ukp, have a 15 minute scope of this before we release it… tell us if anything is really, obviously, clearly not quite right so we can fix it and not embarrass ourselves” it would have taken me no time at all to spot the sound level issue and report back. It really is basic level stuff, that even their office cleaner should have picked up on while running the hoover over the carpet! It should never have been released like this. It shows a lack of respect for us the customers really.
This is what’s annoying. I got passed over for the latest beta testing programme but it took me less than five minutes to pick up that the sounds were too quiet and clipping, then a little longer to spot the PIS not working after loading a saved game. I mean, that’s basic stuff so why are the testers not doing their jobs or, if they are, why are DTG not actioning the feedback? Now we have a potentially great DLC, but flawed and not a squeak out of DTG to acknowledge the concerns let alone when or even if they might be addressed.
I'd like to know out of all the bugs and glitches that are found by beta ARE actually actioned by DTG. I find it hard to believe obvious errors are missed by QA. My guess is it's reported and DTG's repsonse is "Meh, too late to change that now, or CBA changing that, or Meh, maybe in a next patch"
I do understand people asking for authenticity, so yes the train should have the perfect audio levels but I was actually glad that the train sound wasn't as loud as in the preview. Why do people love to listen to a sirene the entire ride? I love this train but I don't like its sound and then I mean the real sound. UK trains are weird, finally a UK train I really like and then it sounds like you are driving an ambulance
I would buy this in an absolute flash! Yes I will add the liverys required as one off the things people can include in the scenario details in the Cc scenario thread for 700s. I didn't even think of custom liveries!
Speaking of the sound Speaking of the sound mix being louder. I started playing the 700 on series X and then tried out on PS5 last night. The sound mix on Series X is louder than PS5 by a noticeable margin in my opinion. When I was diving the 700 in AC mode I had turn up the volume to hear it. Not so on Xbox.
I think you are on to something. I’m not sure but I think Vern mentioned the sounds being too low and Inthink he’s on the PS5. I play on Xbox X and PC and you are correct the DC sounds to me are correct but not the AC sounds. This is on Xbox. So yea that’s going to be tough when not everyone has the same volume of sounds across platforms
Also is the loud rattle noise when running the 700 on other tracks other than SEHS is that normal? I haven’t used creators club in a long time and just find the noise coming from the track noise very loud regardless if on AC and DC and it doesn’t happen when you on SEHS
Yes, I’m on Xbox series x and the sound seems ok to me. Only run it on SEHS so far so can’t comment on AC mode.
Is only when I run it on other tracks other than SEHS. Very loins thumping sound. The faster you go the worse it is
After running the Class 700 on BML via mods, it defo feels like a nicer run with it on that route and makes me more sad it was not able to be done officially. I even more feel now London Commuter needs a major dev pass at it to bring over TOD4 and improve the performance to get a layer in. For now I will continue to enjoy the mods.
I am playing on PC, although I have SEHS on PS5 haven’t added the 700 to it and not likely too. On PC the AC is slightly louder than DC but both are far too low relative to external sounds of passing trains etc.
On 25Kv AC overhead this thing is a, like we say here in the south, a "scalded cat" when it comes to acceleration.
You can use the scenarios that people create or do one yourself in scenario planner. If you’re using others you may need to download certain livery’s etc for it to run.
Now, Why the hell is there DC Sounds when it should be AC Sounds at belle Junction? Thats what i wanna knoq ...
I can't remember which service but i was passing over the bridge where you can see the Submarine and as i went down hill, i had a yellow and i acknowledged it as soon as it lit up but it still gave me a penalty. I did the reset process and nothing worked until i turned the AWS off. So after that the brakes released but soons i turned AWS back on, the penalty hit instantly. I turned AWS back off and the brakes released. I ran the train again last night and didn't have the issue, but i did have the same issue when i ran the class 37. I restarted that activity and the problem didn't replicate.
Just had a little go with the sound mod installed and, while still a bit quiet, a much better and more fulfilling experience. Back out the box for at least an occasional run. However DTG still need to sort out the sound and volume levels ASAP, not just sit back and rely on 3rd party mods - which are only of use on the PC version anyway.
I’m on Xbox series X and I find the in cab sound level ok, it’s a little quiet but not to the point that I can’t hear things. But, I noticed today that when I was accelerating away from the station the throttle alarm was fine in the cab but when I switched to external camera the alarm volume level increased significantly. It was irritatingly loud, so much so that I switched back into the cab. Has anyone else noticed or had this same issue ?
But surely the throttle alarm wouldn’t even be heard outside, or if so it would be barely audible ? At the moment it sounds like a warning siren externally
Possible timetable bug with 9P12 0728 from Rainham to Dartford (West Hampstead). Due Dartford at 0815 and running about 2' late. Held outside Dartford at red signal with what appears to be 0825 to Victoria (Class 465) already in the platform (P2) ahead of me. Edit: Yes it was the 0825 which had somehow got ahead of me. To rub salt in the wound, the adjacent P1 remained unoccupied the entire time. We need the AI signaller updating so that it can make platform alterations in cases such as this, which is what would happen IRL.
i’d probably be right in saying you haven’t heard a 700 irl? They sound very similar to the sounds we have in game for it.
DTG JD DTG Alex DTG Matt when will be hearing about a possible first patch for the 700? There’s lots of constructive feedback in here which would be great to see in a patch soon.
I second this. Mentioned it a few times myself but even though Matt and JD have been posting about the timetable nerf/fix, the other concerns have not been addressed. The mod helps but it's not an ideal solution long term.
The AC sounds definitely needs the volume to be raised is far too low on PC steam and Xbox X. also the brakes release noise should be louder. On the Youtube video skip and go to 1:38 and you can heard the breaks release . I do want to give some positive feedback. The fans on top of the train look great the picture below is the 700 from TSW3 The one below is TSC 700 AP version
On a slightly different topic, this time inserting Class 700 layer on to BML. Accept the problems this is going to cause with the intricately compiled day time service, but looking at the Thameslink web site there is actually an hourly service through the night either terminating/starting at Three Bridges or on to Brighton. Even if it was only four or five round trips in the dark, better than no layer at all. In at the Selhurst portal, down to TB or Brighton, back to East Croydon then back out the Selhurst portal. Surely that could be accommodated?
Also the windshield wipers don't wipe the water not a huge bug but a serious bugbear when it starts to rain and you can't see anything someone has already probably talked about this but I couldn't find it so
No I’ve not heard a 700 irl, but I’m not talking about the engine noise. As I said in my post I’m happy with the audio in cab and the engine nose. What I’m talking about is the alarm in the cab that sounds when you pull the throttle back. There is no way it would be heard outside the train, on the platform at the rear of the train, and be as loud as a car alarm going off? I’ll try a different service, maybe it was just a glitch in the audio.
I'm not sure this has been mentioned already, but why aren't the safety systems included in the training module? Surely it's not hard at all to tell the player "Press E to get up, walk to the back panel and set so and so switch from isolated to normal".
Not sure where the Victoria train starts but, to mirror the real world railway, there needs to be a regulation policy that if the Thameslink service is less than 5’ late, it still goes first. Also make use of both P1 and P2 at Dartford with an either/or variable for the AI signaller.
The training modules are a waste of time anyway, since the Training centre was created they all follow the same routine, Passenger train: Go forward around a loop stopping twice. Freight train: Drive a Loco to a siding, reverse, hook up to a wagon, go forward to the siding, reverse, uncouple wagon. It doesn't tell us anything about the rolling stock or safety systems and is very generic, the scenarios tell us more about how the rolling stock operates and what is actually needed.
