LOVE-a-doodle-doo friends. Ok, this will never happen, but I still think this route may be a very nice route to have in TSW. I'm speaking about the line Paris Gare de Lyon to Dijon. Why I'm saying it could be a nice route? Well, you got various types of train riding it : TER Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, with some of them stopping in several stations in Île-de-France, then others in Burgundy, which comes with (mainly) 2 types of consists Alsthom BB 7200 locomotives pulling Corail cars (with a control car) Bombardier B 81500 Multiple unit a part of RER D, one of the main lines carrying workers from the outskirts of Paris, which goes as far as Melun, using mainly Alsthom Z 20500 units, with double-deck cars (I mean the cars have 2 stories). On this line, the trains are following each others 6 minutes apart on rush hour. TGVs, in Lyria or inOui livery (and yes, they may share tracks with the slower trains) And of course some freight trains. The scenery is quite nice, going from the capital to the more « bucolique » region of Burgundy. I really think that could be a great addition, and it could reuse the TGV modeled from LGV Méditerranée, the livery would change, but the TGV is the same. Granted, that would be a long route. It could be cut before Dijon, but nowadays, the TGV does not stop prior to Dijon. Some time ago, it would stop in some stations, like Sens, which is just 100km south of Paris (it was kind of « funny » to see a highspeed train stopping every 100km on a highspeed line, but it was practical for people, who now has to go to Paris to get into a highspeed train to their final destination.). Well, I had nothing to do these last 20 to 30 minutes, so I hope you enjoyed reading this, as I doubt Dovetail Games would make this route a reality… Unless you guys really want to. I, for one, would insta-buy that road
Not sure what kind of scenery to expect, but I'd love to see a French route that isn't a dedicated high speed one trick pony.
Honestly if we were to see another LGV route I would much prefer a different loco such as a TGV-PSE rather than a reused Duplex.
I got to ride on this very route when I went to Paris while staying in Switzerland. It was a really cool route. However there’s one detail you missed. The TGV trains used for TGV Lyria are not the same as the TGV trains we currently have. They use the TGV EuroDuplex. It’s essentially a newer version of the TGV Duplex, but it has various cosmetic changes interior wise and partially exterior wise. They also sound different. It’s unfortunately not a simple reskin
I think you skipped my selling points It's not just a LGV route, it's a route where there is LGV, but also commutting trains from the RER (stands for Réseau Express Régional, the network that brings workers in and out of Paris), and trains transporting people from outside Île-de-France, and there is freight too (although not that much of challenges in terms of gradient, it's in the « Bassin parisien », which is quite flat). But this route would allow you to do highspeed, or fast-paced commutting, or something in the middle while enjoying the rural landscape, and keeping an eye for signals, since there are many trains on the line.
