Point is we don’t know what they up to, a little information would be nice to keep the interest alive and the Steam Wallet funds frozen in anticipation of something special.

Or maybe there really aren’t any new routes or trains in the pipeline.

I’d rather DTG take it’s time before announcing anything substantial, hopefully whatever DLC they drop is well polished on release.

Also gives me a chance to play other DLC I’ve been waiting to try, recently got HRR and the BR 101 and it’s been great so far.

It’s a fun game, really took me by surprise how good the visuals and gameplay was.

At the end of the day we know that they are working on >insert random name of this years game here< but we currently have no information in what it is. I understand some of you want to know what it is. Personally I'm kinda ok with not knowing at the moment. Secretly I'm waiting for JD to leak it in the next road map. But I can wait. Will probably jump aboard the hype train when it gets leaked.... error sorry announced at somepoint. Gives me time to play some of the dlc try to do some liveries and use scenario creator.

Well, not Asset wise. Asset migration to UE5 is actually easy. Using Nanite for example is just a checkbox.
However, you are right in regard to the code from the trains and routes. The code has to be redone for the UE5 migration. I am not sure, if we will ever see the older DLCs in UE5.
One more thing: They could migrate the foliage in the game to UE5 as it is, but, as far as I know, to use trees and bushes and grass with Nanite they have to be redone, too.

Good opportunity to re-do GWE and extend it to Didcot Parkway and Oxford!!!!! :D :D

    Although very unlikely.

I've gone back to "2" - those were happier (and cheaper) times. No issues so far; RailDriver is returned to pretty much normal function, GPU is running cooler; engine.ini tweaks work well on LOD and shadow. Missing out on the New but not missing the Drama. :)

Either TSW4 or a Rush Hour style route pack.
Nothing is officially confirmed, but the silence about new releases on the roadmap is the same as before the RH and TSW3 announcements.

I don't really care if we get a 3 route pack or TSW4. It won't make that much of a difference.

    yes and no.

No on the PS5 From about February this year. Everything up to February this year DLC wise was paid for. When I became an Ambassador then I get a key for releases.

Yes on the Series X and PC.

I am also an unpaid carer doing 24/7 care for a measly £168.00 per month from the government topped up with universal credit. That total doesn't even meet the national minimum wage. Which I have to live on as well as buy selective DLC as and when.

It is easy to have an opinion on DLC when you do not pay for it was my point. Are you trying to justify yourself for being a carer? I am disabled SCA Type 14, my wife does not work either as she is a carer for my son. I have to pay for all my software (not complaining either) as well. Do I win that one? Do I get a prize?

I’m still going with my original 3 picked routes for the summer.
Difference is Leipzig-Riesa Dresden would not be an extension but a completely new route. It will use assets from previous Dresden .

“1. Leipzig-Riesa-Dresden- This would be an extension of the current Dresden route which would get the TSW3 makeover. possible DLC with the German loco (Vectron) on the roadmap. updated timetable with lots of layers.
    2. MIdland main line London-Bedford- introduce 700/1, layers with the 700/0,HST,66, 395, and many others as part of rail tours as a layers
    3. NEC New York- Stamford- introduce M8 with many layers from LIRR,NYJ, M3A, M7A, and freight layers.”
NYT new timetable would release 3 weeks after these routes are release.

An alternative to Leipzig-Dresden could be Duisburg-Koln, it’s another key rail corridor along the Rhein linking Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Leverkusen and Koln together. 64 Km long it allows 40 minute runs for ICE and IC services plus RE 1,2,3,6,11 and 19 travel along the route with intermittent stops at Düsseldorf HBF and Düsseldorf Flughafen. Furthermore Koln Messe would be included for this route.

The S-bahn wouldn’t be bad either with S1,11 and 68 overlapping each other to provide variety to the commuter lines.

Do we really need to saturate the US market with more NYC routes?

Not much DTG can do with the current licenses that have when it comes to passenger routes. Freight routes that’s a different story

The licenses dtg have is njt, mbta, mta, amtrak which are mostly east coast. There are some other amtrak routes elsewhere but there's reasons why it's not been done yet. It's also extremely likely to be a US route this summer or later down the line since Brandon who did the Boston signaling is involved in a summer contract with dtg. Unless dtg managed to get a brand new license somewhere else.

Caltrain is another but that's only 1 route. Freight is everywhere on the other hand.

A reminder that DTG does NOT have to make a modern US passenger route, if they want to put the work in they could always do vintage, which opens up more locations, operators, and different equipment.

I guess if you take what Matt said a couple of days ago and see what he’s looking to do and you can come up with your own conclusion.

Well, there is still Amtrak California's Capitol Corridor, which shares trackage from Santa Clara to San Jose, AI subbing is possible from Peninsula Corridor, not to mention with ACE wanting to get on board, the Bay Area is another place they can expand on, not just NYC (Plus UP freight operations too)

Like we need a new UK route if TSW 4 dose come out instead of like a Southeastern High-speed route.
When TSW2 first came out it was like "omg London underground in the game!!!!" But when Southeastern High-speed came out it was like "yea route extension" same trains most of the same stations and stuff. We just need a new high-speed UK route but not a rework like Southeastern, maybe LNER in the game?

We dont need new UK route... we need finally some new countries, tired of UK/US/DE over and over again. Hope TSW 4 will introduce some new countries.

It's also called "Train Sim World". :D
(I know the "world" refers to the game mechanics.)

But the world in TSW is pretty narrow. I also wish for new countries at last. How about a route along the sea in Bella Italia? Or do we venture into the Asian region? There is so much potential, but DTG sticks to the same regions over and over again - especially in the UK/US. A lot of things just feel the same, especially when vehicles are recycled.

However, to ensure immersion in a completely different country (e.g. south-italian, Japan...), a lot of new content would have to be created. The completely different vegetation and buildings, hmm, I'm not sure if DTG can and wants to do this. Such a pity.

I agree DTG need to expand out of the UK/Germany/USA comfort zone, but a regards “World” this could also be taken as the environment in which the sim is set. In that you are no longer confined to the cab or disembodied views but can physically walk around and interact.

As regards new regions, there is a possibility Union Workshop are doing something Japanese but all gone quiet on that front. DTG also need to be certain that whatever they do create is going to sell in sufficient numbers to justify the outlay on research, possibly sending a team 1000’s of miles to acquire the data and resources they need to do it justice. They also need to have licensing and permissions entirely above board.

    I wrote that. ;)

That the "world" here does not refer to the different countries, but to the game mechanics of the "free world".

But I no longer believe that we will see other countries than D/UK/GB under TSW3. It's just too quiet for that. :(

I hold out a sliver of hope that Focus can inject a bit more into DTG's budget to allow more global routes.

I think we should keep the "UK" there but get two new countries, plus I find UK routes more enjoyable then US routes or German routes and we really need a 800 in the game it probably will be like the 700

There are loads of areas in the UK bereft of any coverage in TSW, such as Eastern England/Anglia and Wales. However requests for routes in France and the Netherlands crop up quite frequently and there is no doubt a decent length Swiss main line would be popular. Further afield though as mentioned earlier you get into research and maybe licensing issues and that no matter how many pleas there might be in the Suggestion forum, just not going to be viable.

Not sure if anyone else has seen this in another thread yet, but another fellow forum member found that in the epic database there are multiple new files all created at the same time, wirh there being approximately as many files as there is dlc in game, suggesting they are being moved over. As well as this, one file has ‘flying scotsman’ in its name, suggesting this could be an add on for a route, most likely an ecml section. In addition, someone also noticed there are 3 versions of pre-ordering/purchasing. Seen previously from other epic db leaks, they’re pretty much 99% accurate, so we have it very nearly confirmed now. 7D9C33C8-C7E6-49B3-B21F-79270DD27051.png 19F1DD85-E799-4173-A069-E720E5A55218.png

Do we have an official full count of how many DLC's this includes to see if matches TSW? The flying Scotsman seems an odd choice at this point in time with the lackluster state of steam physics and lack of full firing features.

It'll sell like hotcakes though just on the name.

Forgive my ignorance but what route(s) might a Flying Scotsman run on?

    Well then…

TSW Flying Scotsman Centenary Edition with a lengthy stretch of the ECML and, erm, that’s it, that’s this year’s TSW summer release.

This year is the Centenary (100 years old) of the Flying Scotsman. So with that in mind, it's not an odd choice in time at all, but a perfect time for free marketing/tie in hype in rail circles.

Hopefully that's the case, especially if the LNER Class 800 is included. I'm sure there will be a US and German Route as well.

The epic games thing also says their are German, US and central European starter packs as well. I think a modern ECML is plausible though the question is which section? I assume they will include Kings Cross but how far would it go? Peterborough, Cambridge?
