Hi all, Do any of you use a so called Game Booster / Tool to Optimize Your PC for running train Simulator. If not . . why not ? If yes . . which one ? And is there an even better one ? Please share your thoughts !
Thanks Peter,. Is the results after using RW Enhancer that less system tespurces, or more are needed? Of course I am still curious about my initial question. One could think that Win11 is so optimized that when in Game Mode a seperate booster is not needed
a) you called him "Well known member" that is just his forum status, so he called you "New member" as that is currently yours. His forum name is actually 749006 b) he is saying he doesn't talk geek as in he doesn't know enough about PC's or software to answer your question. Both parts of his comment were tongue in cheek.
Some of the game boosters I have seen simply shut down background processes to reserve bandwidth for gaming (you need to know what you can safely shut down). If you have plenty of memory and a good processor and your system tray isn't full it may not make much difference. As to RW Enhancer it is basically a tool to enhance the quality of the scenery and sky by subtle color changes. It also uses resources to run and I do not think it optimizes as such it just allows you to make more changes to scenery and sky quality.
Ah, thanks Reef. Yep, got a new account. Lost my password and that can not be retrieved when one has a legacy account from about 12 years old. Even the helpdesk could not help me. I see. Complicated way of doing business Did you ever use a Game Booster Tool for Train Simulator Classic ?
Thanks. Dang, Peter misinformed me Just bought Version 2 of RW-Enhancer. Well lets see if I notice a performance differenc. Perhaps I can even get to 30 FPS
You’re not going to see a performance increase from RW Enhancer. It’s main use is to improve the look of graphics. It also has some nice features for setting up consists and Quick Drives. The one feature it does have for performance is the ability to switch to the Vulkan Driver easily. But you don’t need it for that. That for me has some nasty side affects on some routes especially when driving in fog, for a very tiny frame rate increase. It‘s a pretty nice tool though. Don‘t know anything about game boosters.
I much prefer RWE Pro. Don't need to rescan at every startup. Way too many settings. I own all three versions and really only use the Pro version. Under some settings it will give a frame rate hit, but it is explained during initial setup.
Ah I see, I think RWE2 is a nightmare. Bought it (because I assumed V2 was the newest), installed it, tested it for 5 minutes and deleted it. Way too complicated and you need an internet connection to play the game / use the tool. What a non sense. Because of the lack of Game Booster type tools in this thread I am starting to assume that Win11 probably does a very decent job funnuling resource to the game and that a special tool to close down services and such is not really needed. In case you have an opinion on that please respond. Thanks
In Windows System/Display/Graphics there are adjustments to priorities to your game apps under Custom options for apps.
Thanks, RWA I checked and it states "let windows decide, high performance" for railworks. My unfound opinion is ( just my feeling ) that Win11 does a good job.
