New York to Trenton, Washed Out Signal aspects by dovetail.
London Midlands version will be in the comment section below with a lot more added details and pictures! Shout out to London Midland in the small collaboration!
IMG_0625.jpeg . IMG_0623.jpeg IMG_0622.jpeg IMG_0624.jpeg I have seen the better aspect lighting on the red yellow and green made by London Midland, It looks very nice and readable compared to the washed out colors that we have now and are hard to see in rainy/snowy or foggy conditions. I know that Matt has mentioned they are investigating the idea on implementing into future routes but has been quiet since then. I think, as we are nearing the summer release. This would be a nice upgrade to have not just for future routes but maybe some previous routes if possible too.
Trenton to New York is one of the examples of poor lighting and washed out aspect signals. I have a few pictures here. I have asked London midland to post pictures of his mod down below, so you guys can compare the difference and see what I'm talking about.

The red and yellow aspects on a lot of the daytime scenarios along with certain weather patterns can almost make them look alike, which makes you a lot more cautious considering New Jersey is a two hour service and saved if games don't work properly. Green is the only one that seems to stand out but it gets weird when it rains or in the snowy weather, with a glare that becomes blinding after staring at it too long. I really hope to see improvements on this because it really does take away the immersion and frustrates me when I get a spad because red looks like yellow most of the time and can't really tell until you get to the danger point of no return lol

what do you the community think about this idea? If you want to agree or like this idea then click the checkmark/like on the bottom of my post to show support and vote yes to the suggestion. I want to say thank you to everyone participating and liking the thread.

For us British players, here are some comparisons of the default aspects and the changes I made below. Let me know what you think of them :)

The default aspects are on the left and my changes are on the right.

I think this will help at lot with scenery and make the signals look more a live instead of the colors looking a bit washed out.

That looks excellent, hands down that looks much more realistic than what’s in the game. Colours are sharper and brighter.

Thanks. We really need to push for this to be the default from now on, so everyone can benefit from it.

It's not just the signals either, the improved ballast colours in your EPs should be standard too. UK and US routes seem to be stuck with those dark brown/grey colours, only German routes seem to get improved ballast.

Yes from me as well. I have most of london midlands enhancement packs downloaded and liked the changes made to the signals in terms of coloring and brightness. It is much easier to differentiate whether a signal is red, green or yellow. Even would be useful on headlights as well which look the same color for headlights and taillights

DTG Matt is there any reason these can’t be implemented as part of the actual game rather than a mod?

It probably takes a while to do since each route it applies to has to be done manually. Remember the sky mod that got implemented for tsw2 that required to be manually done for every single route in tsw and it was no easy task to actually get it in game. It took a while

fair enough, but if a modder can do it and has connections with dtg in the form of helping them out previously and a member of the beta team (londonmidland ) then there shouldn’t be a reason it can’t be done really

Not the best images but here’s what the dorman type signals look like in the day and dark.

The signals are so bad in game that a while ago when I was playing BML, I stopped at the signal outside Victoria. I thought it stepped upto a single yellow and started to proceed and ended up having a SPAD because it was actually red. The signals in real life are very, very bright especially modern signalling. Around bends, you can see the reflections of the signals on the railhead at night long before you can actually see the signal.

This is really, really good. Big thanks to GT2 and London Midlands for raising this. LM’s contrast was day and night.

That literally happened to me the other day lol. When I don't play with safety systems on, it's a much bigger risk to spad. The yellow is very close to the red, especially in certain times of day where the light is glaring. Hopefully this is it. Nice and easy implementation.

Thought I would add to this thread rather than create a new one. I’m enjoying LNER to a degree but the signals is still really ruining it for me. Even when you get AWS magnet ~ 200 yards away, you’re still struggling to make out the signal. You should be able to see these miles away.

Yeah I to am having the same issue and I have 20/20 vision but find myself running past reds more often now especially and rainy/blizzard/fogs. Dad rail in his first Azuma live stream said the same thing and he actually operates the class 66, class 69, class 73, class 73-9's and more so recently the class 57's. Also want to say a big hello to you olaf:) you could always message me if you need to but I hope you're doing well. I've been very busy along with health and living issues plus a lot of responsibilities with the Reddit discord etc.

Hello London Midland :). Dad rail just made a video on your new mod for TSW4 and will link the video here. I also would like to ask you to please post both your links to download both of the mods for TSW3 & TSW4. I still want to dovetail to bring this mod into future routes because although PC players have a lot of the benefit and full potential of the game, a lot of us Console are left out and I really just want to help bridge that gap.

Thank you for all of your hard work!

Unfortunately I can only make the aspects show as far as the signals actually start rendering out, which is around a mile or so away. It would be up to DTG to make the world render out further.

I hope you like what I did with the signals. I tried to make them as realistic as possible without making them look too bright during the day :)

I agree, the default signal visuals are really bad and are in a desperate need of being updated.
