What are they going to name this one? TSW4: Let's Just Pretend Last Year's Disaster Never Happened. Or how about TSW4: Please Pleeeeeeaaaase Come Back Old Customers!

 

Just where exactly is your proof that they have lost costumers, you have been making this claim for months now yet I have seen no proof to back that up, say what you like but the fact is population wise Tsw is doing just fine.

From the looks of the Epic DB that one is from TSW3 which never got filled. Doesn’t look to be one of the Smithsfileds DB

 

TSW3 was announced on the 10th of August 2022, the shop page opened after the announcement and the routemap for TSW3 was released at the same time. billbil-kun mentions that TSW4 will be available for pre-order on the 22nd of August, so it might be worthwhile to take a wild guess that DTG will be announced on the 22nd.
Considering that the path of file format of TSW's routemap URLs is basically fixed, maybe try visiting train-sim-world/articles/article/tsw-roadmap-22-08-23 more around the 22nd of August to see?

Of course, all this assumes that JD's secrecy is tight enough

 

Despite the leaks, I like how little there is that's 100% confirmed, and how much traction this topic got.

Not ideal for DTG, but, everyone is having fun while the surprises will still happen. Great times !

I really hope this time they can pull off a perfect launch because it took them almost a year to turn TSW 3 into a fun game to play and now this all can be undone with a new version. They better have a fix for all the stutters and have NPC's that don't make this game look like it was developed a decade ago to make me buy the Smithfield Prepurchase

 

The CB route is prefixed 'pentadecagon' which I am almost certain was TSW3's code name if you will. The Acela was initially leaked as PentadecagonAEA etc.

All the TSW4 stuff is prefixed 'smithfield' which is almost certainly TSW4's new code name and differentiates the CB depot, which is as someone has said already most likely a DLC (I reckon third party) that hasn't had time to release yet. I guess it could be the gameplay pack from Skyhook, but doesn't fit the 420 and I if it's neither it'll probably get reassigned a smithfield prefix soon and carried forward to TSW4.

 

Yet again DTG's silence on the issue is deafening.

In my opinion, there may be some truth to the rumours purely because they haven't been denied.

My reason for thinking this is that no one who is hearing the rumours of a new version being imminent is going to spend on the current version. Hence sales for TSW 3 must be slowing if not almost stopped right now.

If there is no TSW 4 imminent, then if I was DTG, I would be letting people know in no uncertain terms in the hope of reviving any sales of TSW 3.

 

I can’t wait until Smithfield hits the market and I can get into the meat of it.

 

If TSW 4 is coming, I hope it's a update to 3 rather than a separate purchase again. I don't wanna go through with the hassle of redownloading all my content

 

The Humble Bundle makes sense now... get some new players into the franchise and there's a larger pool that may upgrade to TSW4, especially if all the DLC they just got can be used with it...

 

No it's not! DTG doesn't have to comment on every single thread. People saying that no reply by DTG means that it's confirmed - that's without any logic. Look at the suggestions. Did DTG comment on any of these? No. Does it mean that every single suggestion is coming? No. And nobody thinks that. Why people this this time it's different, is beyond my understanding.

Not commention is neither deny, not confirmation. It's exactyl what it is: no comment.

 

You are correct on this. Even last year when it was accidentally leak by one of its member it was still no comment until it was officially announced

 

Well of course they're not obliged to comment, but bearing in mind this is their official forum and the first port of call for many people playing the game or interested in getting on board, not Trainsim d0t c0m or some other independent board, it would be in their interest to start some sort of containment/calming exercise. Yes it might mean bring forward announcements but it would help to calm some of the wilder speculation and focus customers' minds on what is actually in the pipeline.

 

Actually i doubt that. I think a lot of people use instead something like the steam discussion site as well as Youtube. In my streams and videos, i had sooo many people who didn't know about the forums and where you can report bugs.
Maybe it's also because my viewers are german and this forum is english. But the fact this forum is offical doesn't mean it's more or less important than other communication ways. The DTG staff is also active in Discord, on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and a lot of other platform. Probs to the community team for managing all that stuff.

 

I think their silence does say something though- if DTG has a whole year-plus of TSW3 content in the pipeline, they'd want to make us aware, at least a little bit- just for the fact that people will be hesitant to buy new DLC for TSW3 if they think TSW4 is just around the corner.

 

I think it’s in their best interests not to comment. Look at how much you are all talking about it.

If they comment now you’ll all have got bored by the release date.

I’m sure they’ve got some sort of build up planned and I doubt very much they are going to change that because of a few impatient people on the forum.

The anticipation and speculation is half the fun.

 

They have previously responded to threads containing inaccurate rumors. I once started a thread about a new DB BR 111 model being "leaked" on creators club, which turned out to be just a mod made by some random person. The DTG staff responded to it within the same day, stating that they are not making a BR 111. Keeping in mind that the thread about the possible TSW4 is now 21 days old, if the rumor is false, it's strange why they haven't denied it by now.

I'd like to see some South West Trains metro route or some other LU line. The Northern, Metropolitan, or Victoria Lines are three possible options. I don't know about ATO, but we can figure that out later.

No idea why they don't just confirm it now if it will be a thing. Save themselves the useless marketing budget as it will be 98% the same game over again. Remember last year's colossal marketing failure that was met with laughter and anger. Why bother? A simple yes it exists and more details will be revealed on X date would suffice. People can take it or leave it as they wish.

 

I hope that the JT-route still comes to TSW3. The screenshot we have seen of the route doesn't look too different to the current TSW3 routes. If the screenshot is from TSW4, the visuals of the game appear to remain pretty similar. If TSW4 would use Unreal 5, I think that it would look at least a bit different in terms of lighting and assets.

 

In my opinion the JT route will release after TSW4 comes out. That is why we haven’t gotten that much information on it

Who knows if UE5 will be used, it's pretty fast if they do already. But, time is money..

 

Not seeing anything that the current version doesnt have tbh. The only new thing I notice if the heightmap aint to modified is POM material being used next to the trackballast. It looks like it has layers near the beams on the floor.

 

Ue5 would require everything to be rebuilt. It's not just a magic button they press. Maik from tsg explained in another thread that ue5 requires the track logic and all to be rebuilt for stuff to work. Also dtg said they won't move to it until the big boys do

Fwiw Remnant 2 just released in UE5, and that's hardly the "big boys". It is Gen 9 only, though, which TSW4 won't be.

I understand that some people are still on gen 8 but the Xbox One and PS4 are both ten years old. When TSW released in 2018 gen 7 consoles were 12 years old. Maybe for TSW5.

Edit: Or a New Gen version like GTA 5 but I don't think it'll ever happen.

Rumour says 120 fps, VR, it's also an entire map of the world with all current tracks and trains. Best to compare it is with Flight Simulator. The routes we already bought are more detailed in the world. It's also will be free to play but you will need to buy electricity to drive.

it’s a strong selling point on my view, I’ve been hoping a pacer will also layer to tees valley (perfect opportunity if/when JT confirms it’s a pacer).
