With the sheer amount of suggestions on this forum, I think a thread summarising the most liked ideas on the site might be beneficial to any DTG developers looking for inspiration on what the public want — so, what are the most popular suggestions on the forums? -Merger between the German routes of Ruhr Sieg Nord and Rhein-Ruhr Osten linking the two at Hagen, making a continuous line between Finnentrop and Wuppertal standing at 93 km long; this was originally suggested by Martin13 and garnered 165 likes. -Another German route although this time high-speed between the populous cities of Cologne and Frankfurt with a total mileage of 180 km; this was originally suggested by Swedewagon and garnered 143 likes. -Yet another German route, this time regional, between Cologne and Wuppertal (it seems Rhineland is very popular) and measures up to 65 km; this was originally suggested by jolojonasgames and garnered 132 likes. -Finally a UK route, this one set in the northern metropolis that is Newcastle, it is the modern Tyne and Wear Metro and features more rapid action then the aforementioned, it also has a healthy 78 km under its belt; this was originally suggested by AyrtonS8 and garnered 114 likes. -New route in the previously unexplored (in terms of TSW) country of Holland, which is technically a suggestion for two routes, and whichever DTG may choose is up to them, but they both start in Amsterdam and lead to either Amersfoort or Lelystad — the Amersfoort suggestion (the primary one) is 67 km long; this was originally suggested by Purno and garnered 102 likes. -Finally is the much requested extension to Great Western Express in the form of branches to Greenford, Heathrow, Windsor, Marlow, and Henley, amounting to 34 km of new track; this was originally suggested by Edward S (MilPop14) and garnered 100 likes. I would include more suggestions under 100 likes but the charge is low on this yoke and I’m hungry and I want to play Pikmin 4, so hopefully this gets across what new routes are most wanted. Maybe.
An example of a popular suggestion would be one of the sections of the ECML, though a redone GWE is a popular one.
people really be calling the netherlands "holland" and can you throw in a suggestion for the ICE 4? thanks in advance
You missed some of the GWE branches. If it were, however unlikely, to be remade, it absolutely should have ALL of the branches on the existing section for both passenger and freight.
At some point DTG will have to listen to their customers and remake this route because it lags so far behind now. It was always only partially complete with every branch line missing and no proper dlc. SEHS got the overhaul treatment even though the old version wasn't that old. Perhaps there was a little bias for this due to it being DTGs Local line but it only proves that rebuilds can be beneficial and indeed done. GWE should not be left to die in its current form. I have said this over and over again on many threads and only hope that it will garner enough support for DTG to listen and act.
Agree. Just because they say it isn’t so doesn’t completely rule it out. Another one that frequently gets requested is Crossrail aka Elizabeth Line. Various London Underground routes get frequent postings. ECML and WCML already mentioned I think.
Impossible since the 2 routes have different years it set in, RRO is more modern while RSN is set in early 2010's iirc
Perhaps I'll use my birthday wish for a complete GWE rebuild. Surely there must be some benefit to getting older.
I've (unfortunately) seen many suggestions for more extensions to sehs and more southeaster routes. But as said before on the forums luckily these southeastern DLCs are being reduced
Other popular german suggestions are: - S-Bahn Berlin - IC-Cabcar (*pain*) - Anything concerning Frankfurt Hbf - Alpine routes in Bavaria/BaWü or Austria
S-Bahn Berlin (specifically the class 483) and the IC-Cabcar are being developed as mods. according to one of the modders the S-Bahn has been cancelled as for now and the IC-Cabcar is a private project anyways which means it cannot be released due to something with rights or whatever which confuses me because DTG dropped so many Deutsche Bahn DLCs that there shouldn't be a problem and yes wow mods not for console waah wah I know but hey the modder also said he is trying (or what he said to the ICE 3 Velaro D) to make it an actual DLC and I think he needs to make a deal with DTG to achieve that though, and he wants to do that so the Velaro D is not just based off the ICE 3 which it currently is, and so it can also be used on console. yeah idk thats sick dude
I looked over the suggestions forums on here and created a graph of what routes are the most suggested, instead of accounting of likes. Here is a fairly accurate representation of the public’s most suggested routes*: *Some numbers may not be entirely accurate as I grouped routes (like putting Dublin-Belfast down as Dublin-Dundalk) and I only counted routes with more than 5 suggestions, so take with a bit of salt, also, I don’t necessarily support these, as some are a bit long, like the Tokaido line.
How about these International routes Brussels Leuven Liege Aachen and then merge with SKA so that we can do Koln to Brussel Zuid Bruxelles Midi? Followed by Oldenburg-Groningen and then merging with BRO that way we can do the 173 km run between Bremen and Groningen and lastly Duisburg Arnhem and then merge with HRR. Want more PZB action with Keyboard on the consoles the Austrian SFS Salzburg-Wien Westbahn. This one changes German routes with the Austrian trains sometimes subbing in for a German equivalent like 2070 for the 363 365 G6 204. The reverse is 363/365 204 G6 inside Wien Kledering Salzburg Gnigl
So based on the US routes listed, we have New Haven, Pacific Surfliner, and Tehachapi pass (Harlem doesn't count as its already in game)
Ideally you'd use a combination of frequently suggested and frequently liked. After all, a suggestion that's been posted a 100 times is just as popular as 1 suggestion liked 100 times. And to be fully correct you'd have to filter out any duplicate users. Me posting the same suggestion 100 times or liking 100 similar suggestions should really count just for 1 person. No clue how you'd do such a thing, and you already got more data than I expected anyone to filter out of these forums, so good job so far!
I had forgotten the Harlem line so that’s why it was included. I tried to exclude suggestions by the same people for the same routes, and I only realised I should’ve included likes halfway in, and wasn’t willing to retry — but thanks for recognising the work that went into the post, looking through over 100 pages of suggestions wasn’t easy!
I’d love to see a Dutch route added; would be a nice new country to add also it’s a popular addition.
I know I get that they live there but how about fixing it rather than adding more bugs that will never be solved
a good one would be all the ways from Manchester Piccadilly - Crewe incl via Manchester Airport or via Stockport and then the slow lines via Stoke-On-Trent and the faster avoiding lines
By the look of it the only thing missing is what year each route they suggested would be in. I know it's a lot but it would make it easier for dtg to know what era we want a particular route in. Like would people buy a route like ecml or wcml set in 1000.
Ah, rather than LHCS (Loco Hauled Coaching Stock) you want to see under appreciated DHCS (Donkey Hauled Cart Stock). Might I suggest Winchester to Tamworth connecting the former capital cities of Wessex and Mercia in the newly-formed Kingdom of England?
