If no license can be obtained for any TOC that operates a passenger Vectron, then it not worth making it.

Sorry, but that's really nonsense, because with Railpool and MRCE they have the licenses for variants that are also used in passenger transport.

While London Commuter does need a lot of vital memory optimisation etc, considering it's the 8-car 700/0 coming to TSW, that makes sense for the Rainham services with SEHS but wouldn't for LC and the BML as the majority of services here are the 12-car /1. Even if memory is an issue, it would be such a shame if LC didn't get a TOD 4 update considering the already epic timetable etc.

 

Looking at the picture the one in the middle is actually meant for Schnellfahrstrecke Leipzig Nürnberg ETCS equipped

 

The vectron is used across multiple countries in Europe and works on both freight and passenger trains, one of the only locomotives that does that other than the TRAXXes and Eurosprinters that we already have in the game, so I see why people would want it.

 

Which is why it's boring imo, I prefer unique content.
I haven't touched said Traxx in the game for years because of that. I believe people will forget it once the honeymoon phase is over, let's see if I'm wrong or right

 

While I agree with you that these locos could be considered boring, I also disagree. I actually really like the TRAXX locomotives, but I just think their rendition in TSW is a little... lackluster.
OT: Take Simrail for example. I cannot put my finger exactly on to what it is, but I love driving the TRAXX there. It just feels way more alive and rewarding - and frankly - more realistic, driving it there. And I wish the same was the case for them in TSW.

 

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with your hypothesis, however I think it's more logical they intended with the 8-car variant regardless considering it would fit with the Rainham services from SEHS - which is DTG's flagship TSW 3 route; also, let's not forget how much DLC and timetable updates that TSW route is getting (which I honestly think is now way too much as SEHS is starting to get very repetitive).

 

I think that the reason for why many don't like the Traxxes is because of how dull they are (imo) and how many routes they are included in. If the Vectron ends up being good, I think that it will be a popular DLC

The Austrian 1293 can be used to hint at it's home route might be the Vierländerbahn St Margethen (CH) Bregenz (AT) Lindau (DE) Feldkirch (AT) Buchs SG (CH) Vaduz Lichenstein (FL) or Schnellfahrstrecke Wien Sankt Pölten Linz Salzburg Westbahn. I wonder if SBB Vectron can fit here too actually used on Gotthardbahn Rbf Basel Muttenz Olten Sursee Luzern Gotthard Basistunnel & Ceneri Basistunnel trips to Italy.
