Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition! This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Our rules: Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. You can enter up to 3 pictures, posted separately. You can delete and replace if you wish. TSC only shots allowed. 3rd party content, enhancement and artistic editing is accepted. Thread poster picks the podium and can't enter themselves. The decision is final. The winner chooses the new theme for next week and becomes its judge. We strongly discourage any negativity, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. The theme this week is Industrial (locos and infrastructure included) Entries will close at 9:00 PM GMT on Friday, August 5th and will be judged by me (Nick Y). In the event of this week's winner not responding by 5:00 PM GMT Sunday, August 6th, a new thread will be created with the backup theme with the most votes from the poll. Good luck and have fun!

Adding a trio of entries as there aren't too many (however nice ones). I would have defaulted to skip it as usually when I capture something industrial, I tend to filter it out. First, the filename is too long, I mean a view of mixed maintenance of way equipment at Faversham.
Some good entries this week, even though not many entered. I will have a good look at the entries and decide this afternoon whilst I have some downtime.
Time for the results. In 3rd place paulc with the DB 66 leaving Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station. It was a difficult decision between 2nd place and 1st place but we do have joint second places for: Blazin with his shot of the LMS Fowler Dock Tank And triznya.andras with the Rio Grande SD40-2 passing the coal mine In first place, georgeuk90 with this shot of Ex-Caledonian Railway "Beetle Crusher" 56151 shunting stock around the docks. As I said above, it was a really hard decision to make this week as there were so many really good entries. Congratulations to georgeuk90, Blazin, triznya.andras and paulc for placing this week. The entries not chosen for the top 3 all get special mentions because they were all great. Fyi georgeuk90, it was a tossup between the chosen shot and your other shot of the class 37. Even though I'm a sucker for the 37s, I decided to go for something different this time.
Congratulations to the winners and thank you for 2nd place! georgeuk90 Just letting you know we are soon approaching the time where one of us will have to make a thread with a backup theme if you don't respond soon but we are ok to give you some time if you need it.
George logged last late Thursday / early Friday. I think we could do a freestyle, with a constraint about the number of entries. Winning theme is freight, I'm game with that, too. I have a theme "unusual angles" in my mind, inspired by a few recent themes (low shots, side shots) and of course that weekly shot I just shared. I'd rather keep that for my thread, whenever that comes Freestyle might work until Friday (people just checking their collection for suitable niceties), otherwise it might be worth to extend until 18th. It's the summer, after all. (Except here, UK weather has occupied us. Rain, clouds, cold. I'm happy, but still.)
Looks like we will have to make a new thread for this week with either freestyle or a backup theme. Nick Y would you like to create the Week 32 thread and judge again? If not I’m happy to create and judge it.
I'm happy to judge again with a freestyle theme this week. Could you create the thread for me as I'm literally walking out the door to go do a volunteer shift at Wensleydale railway and I won't have access to the forum until this evening.
Sure, the new thread is up now with the theme being Freestyle. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-competition-2023-week-32.72195/
Thanks Nick for keeping the comp going. I have been away on holibobs so not been able to participate. Am back now so all good for next week (33) Cheers
