For me, LIRR is the definition of missed opportunity. For only a small portion of the network to be included and such an unrealistically quiet timetable for "America's busiest commuter network", for only the m7 to be included with m3 as dlc, that is disappointing. So I will be looking at the potential benefits of reworking the whole route and explaining why, alongside Great Western Express, this route is in the most need of the "SEHS Treatment".

Firstly the trains. The M3 should come as standard and the following trains should also be included:

    M9
DE30AC Diesel and DM30AC Bi-Mode locomotives with C3 bilevel cars
    MP15AC

The M9 runs electric services like the M3 and M7, while the DE30AC and DE30MC run diesel branch services. The MP15AC is used for shunting duties.

    DM30AC,_New_Hyde_Park,_Dec_27_2022_(cropped).jpg

Next up, the route itself. Firstly, we should include the Grand Central Station as LIRR runs there. Also, the following lines should be included:
    Oyster Bay
    Port Washington
    Far Rockaway
    West Hempstead
    Ronkonoma
    Port Jefferson
    7280b54f82fee08da14629f0b662f425.jpg
    Port-Jeff-Ticket-Office.jpg

Lastly, the timetable. The line, particularly Jamaica, is ridiculously quiet. Jamaica receives over 1000 services per day. This needs to be in the tsw3 route. In places on the tsw route, there is over 6 hours between services in the middle of the day. This would never happen irl. Lastly, Amtrak and MBTA ai needs to layer in at Penn Station.

That is all. I hope you see the potential of a true LIRR route.

Trust me I could see this being the TSW4 or TSW3:RH soon for the US.

Been doing a bit on the LIRR and quite enjoying it so would love to see a SEHS style makeover that substantially increased the route mileage.

Been reading up on the history a bit and a vintage pack with old EMU's and maybe some diesels (especially if the Bushwick freight branch was added) would enhance the experience too.

Underrated in my opinion and I've never even been to the USA!

To be honest, if they'd announce a new LIRR I wouldn't be hyped. Although there's always a chance a route turns more fun than I expected, I probably wouldn't be willing to spend some decent money on it. I just don't particularly like the current LIRR and it doesn't make me want more LIRR.

Because I feel quite similar about LIRR and GWE.

Below is what a new LIRR route pattern can look.
This is with the new Grand Central Madison station and tunnels

New LIRR DLC passenger Services :
    LIRR Penn station 350
    Grand Central Madison 292
    Atlantic avenue 168
    LIC- 24
    Dead head/SSY/WSY-100
    Layers: Amtrak/Acela/NJT/SSY AI- 675
Total services with all layers and AI- 1,609 services

As a frequent rider, in game is disappointing from the lack of traffic. having only the main line and one branch is one thing, but its pretty empty. Ive been playing the TSC version more honestly after adding traffic. Having the M7s as the default and the M3s as DLC is fine IMO. the majority of the fleet is M7s and some M3s just got put back into service due to the lateness of the M9 order. And as much as i would love the diesels, their locos are..unique. And from what ive heard, the LIRR keeps them to themselves since they still try to get them...consistent.

It does still have freight iirc. NY&Atlantic. That would be cool to have in game.

With East Side Access (Grand Central-Madison), the new Elmont Station basically replacing Belmont Park (not totally but, yeah), the new platform at Jamaica and the main line third track, The timing of making this route and what the LIRR was doing was just bad timing IMO.

What i would suggest is yes, an M9 DLC, and the "SEHS treatment" adding the above additions to the network, And possible the South Shore line with the Far Rock, Long Beach and either the W Hempstead, Babylon (the "main branch" w the Montauk on the South Shore line) or possible both. But ill also be happy if the Babylon only goes to Freeport or Massapequa in game.

Actually BML with AI has over 4800+ . The only one that comes close is SEHS with what I believe is around 2800

Excellent idea overall and you might need to consider adding in Elmont UBS Park Third Track Hicksville Floral Park Babylon Branch and Eastside access.
Remember during the late nights you have east side access shut.

The one thing that makes me sad about it is that we won't get grade crossing action on the main line anymore :( the Mineola one was an icon

Personally I feel that all existing branches, except for the Montauk and the LIRR past Ronkonkoma should be included. This could include the Bay Ridge and Lower Montauk branches so we could get some freight action, and the GP40 from TSW2020 (maybe up to Oak Point )

But if hell freezes over and DTG is able to include the entire LIRR network, they 100% should. At the very least East Williston

You are correct and furthermore there is a tower next to it but when they built the third truck it got destroyed.

I’m all in for this, LIRR is way too quiet in game. And if TSW4 is going to be a thing, this would be a great route to redo! However, MBTA doesn’t go near New York, the furthest it goes is to Rhode Island, but NJT should layer on!
