    Because it's a suggestion...
If it were a discussion of Roblox Train Games it would be Off-Topic, but this is a suggestion that devolved into discussion.

It Devolved into a discussion as its the wrong thread page. So I'd blame this on the person who created this.

It devolved into a discussion because that's what people turned it into. The OP is just a poorly framed suggestion.

For me it would be along the lines of what journey mode is, but with things like safety systems being required as you progress. Timetable should be all safety systems on by default... for me

As a developer for "British Railway" I can safely say there was never an intent to replace or compete with Train Simulator/Train Sim World or whatever. The game caters to a different audience at the end of the day: Train Sim World is much more detailed and immersive than British Railway will ever be so caters much more towards the general enthusiast but British Railway is relatively simplified, works a lot better for those looking for a quick game and young enthusiasts who aren't yet too interested in the detail of Train Simulator. I got into Train Simulator as a result of my introduction into the railway community through Stepford (SCR) in late 2017 and I believe British Railway will serve that function as well for people.
I'd love to see Train Sim World gain some of the features British Railway has potentially but it doesn't necessarily need them at the same time because, as I said, they're for different audiences. Neither game stands as a threat to the other, they will likely just fuel each other and open the community to more people.

Took a while for me to notice this thread didn't it... Anyway.
