Dovetail Direct Reaction / Tsw4 Thread

Well, here we are, I guess.
It's our final weeks of TSW3... The leaker seems to be right and everything has fallen into place.

August 22nd is 'Dovetail Direct', a special Festival of Rail-esque reveal of what comes next. August 22nd is also when the online leak suggest the game will be up for pre-order. As does the Epic Games Database.

So, this is the thread for discussing Dovetail Direct, predicting what comes with TSW4, and discussing the next step in the franchise - replacing the firmly derailed threads relating to the leaks.

I'll compile everything we know soon.

 

This definitely isn’t the last of the information that we’ll get before the 22nd. I expect more information will be leaked soon

 

I leaked a little when I saw this on Facebook.

 

Oh well, going to be out of town then, so will have to wait until the following week to see what its all about.

MIght in fact be TSW 4 and "everything else" could become a special project for the preservation crew.

I clearly see the dilemma of pumping out new routes (which makes the game interesting, I have to agree on that) but thus having only limited resources to tackling the flaws in existing product.

There are at least 6 different threads, all pretty much on the subject of TSW4 and Coming Attractions.

It's making my head spin!!

( But DTG will love the hype! )

 

By the amount of likes on the announcement, people are not happy

 

In Formula 1 they call this Silly Season

 

That is not a realistic way of judging.

 

I can’t stand another 3 weeks of hype and speculation! I’ll come back after 22nd

 

I'm happy IF it means significant core improvements.

If it's just TSW3.5 (new coat of paint and new routes), i'll be disappointed- put those resources into development rather than a huge marketing effort for the same game.

Only time will tell

 

Let's face it, even though many of us have enough content to take us into the after- life, in an uncertain world full of doubt, we all crave something new and exciting.

I guess this means some things that are broken since release of TSW3 won't be fixed in its entire lifecycle.

 

Nothing of that is any proof of a TSW4. Like Jan said, such "Direct"-formats do exist often, like e.g. "Nintendo Direct", or "Pokémon Direct" .

 

But Jan did not dismiss TSW4. What more proof do you need besides the actual announcement? I notice DTG is very eager to dismiss false rumours

Only the actual announcement counts for me. I am no fan of speculations or rumours.

 

I already feel for you. These are going to be a terrible few weeks for you. Everyone claiming to know it will be TSW4 and it will be only confirmed the 22nd. I really hope for you it's not TSW4 so you can be the one to say "I told you so"

 

I don't care. If TSW4 is anounced on that day, I will buy and play it, just as I did with TSW2 and TSW3. I like that sim.

It's free because I didn't have to pay anything for it, it's just part of a subscription I've already paid for

A bit disappointed we have no teasers to whet our collective appetites and keep us guessing. Come on DTG JD, no “guess the location” or clever puzzles like last year?

 

Hoping there'll be more clues and teasers between now and the 22nd. They could do a teaser for each of the "big 3 countries" each week.

As I have said elsewhere as long as the British offering is good I am more than up for TSW4 though I must admit when I saw it this song came into my head...


TSW4, or whatever you are I do just hope the British route is decent, anything else is a bonus to me.

 

Don't want to burst trainsimplayer or anyone else's bubble but TSW 3 hasn't even been out for a yar. My wallet is crying enough let alone a new game.
