To OP I think you may want to wait for summer news. Whether we get a new game or a rush hour type dlc, either of those will likely have some sort of bundle.

I’m not here to convince you either way. Game runs mostly fine on next gen. Some routes will have lots of stuttering, particularly Bremen and Mainz. PC runs these a lot better from what I read here.

Don’t feel the need to explain your decision to the pc master race crowd, there’s more lifestyle reasons to switch than simply comparing hardware specs.

This has to be wrong. Users do not control the add ons. There’s no interaction between users and the manager. You play the game as usual and add on manager loads what it needs to for the route you’re playing on. All of my add ons are there and active as soon as I load the game on PS5.

I only have 3 PS4 games from my collection on my PS5 installed and still my extra 1TB SSD isn't sufficient for all the PS5 content available via Playstation Plus

Luckily though I'm not interested in half of the PS plus catalog haha. I only get games form it I'm interested in - I mostly have it for online purposed and the odd good free game.

TSW3 news came out in what - early August last year, rush hour came out early 2022. I'll see what happens and decide further on there on what I'm going to do I think. Thanks.

Yes, it does have extra discounts on a select dlc. I think ranging from 10% to 50% (could be more) discounts.

Here my point of view before you start spend much money on a platform, and even more money in future dlcs.

A good pc rig might be expensive, but i never would go for a console. Not because the experience is worse / better, infact because the inconsistent quality of our devs, running out of time over and over.

Be aware modders can make the day and night if a release is just "meh", you download the soundmod which are available for almost every train and even more visual upgrades of routes.

There is nothing worse than stuck with content while a different platform might enhance the immersion 400% and you cant absolutley do nothing about it.

Of course this might vary depending on what type of player you are. A casual trainsimmer might be just satisfied wgen the train is moving..;), but i just think its worth to mention because tsw isnt nessecarily a cheap hobby.

Never regreted going with my platform. Why?: i prefere solutions over annoyance. You still can donate money on modders as you wish or not.

Okay I'm going to state a couple of things:

    1. As a reminder I have both and can't really keep using my PC for TSW without dropping more games which i regularly play.

    2. Expensive of the console matters little because again - I already own a PS5

    3. I do agree about the whole mods if it's meh release but to be fair as stated I am not the biggest care person when it comes to mods - aslong as the baseroute is of enough quality I can be immersed and so are the sounds I am well beyond happy!

    3. Tbh most mods that are "necessary" are for routes I've never played and likely wont: Edinburgh Glasgow etc etc, MML with the skyhook update looks really good and hopefully the PS issue is solved and the rest are for routes I either don't care about, view that I don't really need it or are for routes I simply will never own.

    4. Meh releases has been a problem for a while and I do tend to NEVER buy dlcs on release day and wait to watch a gameplay video or two before deciding.

    5. No train simulation hobby is cheap. Or vehicle hobby in general other then *maybe* trucking. I am fully aware of this as a player of OMSI2, ETS2 and TSC.

    6. Yeah that makes sense but as stated sometimes annoyances aren't actually as annoying as people make them out to be - genuinely.

Thanks for the lengthy reply anyway though!

I'm surprised that you would post such codswallop (unless you're joking which you often are).

Windows and Microsoft and other PC woes? Enlighten me. I've never had any.
And no-one on PC needs to be tinkering, the game plays well without mods.
And I'll wager that PS5 has had more " woes " in the past couple years than any other platform. 64GB ring a bell?
PS5 plays TSW very well. But the only advantage it has over a decent PC is that you can drive trains while stretched out on a sofa, possibly with cigars and your favorite libation at your side. Actually, that sounds good, I should try it, but it's not the proper way to operate a large, speeding vehicle.

The GB'S thing is arguably because Sony didn't expect any company to make 80+ several GB routes (which makes a lot of sense if you think about it). Enfact no that'd DEFINELTY why.

And for your large remark... does your chair not have wheels?

This being the case, would it make sense to simply uninstall the routes you don't play anyway? You can always redownload any that you decide to play later.

Whilst you have been arguing discussing whether PS5 or PC is better I have done 4 timetable runs and 2 CC scenarios on my Xbox, so I think that is the winner! ;);):D:D

In all seriousness though, if you would like both SOS and SEHS, you may as well buy them together in a bundle along with TSW 3 as you can almost guarantee it will be cheaper than buying them separately. If you're interest lay elsewhere (such as in NTP and LBN for example) you may as well wait and see how the cookie crumbles with TSW4 over the next few weeks and buy them after the dust has settled along with TSW3/4.

Of course I am joking a little as a response to some of the replies on this thread about how much better PC is, but on a personal level I do not get on with Windows (never have) and vowed never to have a PC in the house many years ago. So 75% joking, 25% deadly serious.

Okay presuming your talking about this here's my personal thoughts:
    -SEHS enhancement bundle
    -grab LBN
    -wait for a sale/newjtroute
    -go from there

That's presuming It's just TSW3:RH and only one route interests me.

Be diffrent if it was TSW4.

As for the xbox remarks I don't have an xbox never had not planning on one.

Yes I am not sure of the exact bundles but if it works out cheaper than the things separate it's a good deal. That does sound like a decent plan from there as well because it does give you a couple of different types of driving. The xbox remark was purely aimed at those comparing the pc and PS5 (even then not a particularly serious comment) and not aimed in your direction. Only you know what hardware is right for your personal needs.

    Alright thanks for the clarification

    The southeastern bundle is:
    SEHS (29.99)
    700 (12.99)
    37 (4.99)
    66 RHTT (4.99)
    BR heavy freight pack (11.99)
    (EDIT) TSW3/TRAINGCENTRE (Technically Free)
    (Total of: 64.95 pound seperate)
And comes to a total of 44.99 - 19.96 pound off. And as you say comes with loads of diffrent driving and as a UK focused player gives me tonnes of hours if not days of simulation of high speed, commuter, freight and even drags and some special freight

Wow, yes I would go for that now no matter what really, does it include TSW3 as well, or will you still need to buy that separately?

Wow, that's a brilliant deal! I would say snap it up then! Obviously this depends on your funds etc, but you may as well get LBN/ whatever other route(s) take your fancy now too as I would say that if TSW4 does happen all DLC will carry over anyway (hopefully) and if it doesn't it will still there to play as it is now. Even if you don't get another route now, there will be plenty to keep you occupied on SEHS.

That’s meal deal, I’d go for that too tbh.
Even if you’re not massively into UK rail, SEHS arguably their best work + it has a lot of replay-ability with all the various rolling stock, scenarios, etc.

Full disclosure so you know what you’re getting into, I do have problems with the 700 front PIS showing up on ps5. Whereas on pc you can probably mod that in. I play cab view almost exclusively, so while the issue is there I don’t see it. There’s also some fps drops near some of the big depots and stuff. Otherwise, it’s a good time.

With my funds available I should be easily able to grab The SEHS bundle and wait for news and if its TSW4 buy whichever bundle I feel like would fit me best

Would you say this is a good course of action?

Ah alright - I mostly play cab view myself unless I'm taking screenshots or going for achievements and route tasks so the PIS isn't the biggest issue. FPS drops are bearable. Thanks for the warning

Indeed you would do well to steer clear of TSW3 on Xbox! Although the frame rate is generally a lot smoother than on PS5, the audio quality issues are really annoying and DTG does not seem to care about fixing them, despite much ranting from players.

I have a love/hate thing with consoles: I love that you get so much value in a dedicated little gaming box, but the games are significantly more expensive and you are at the mercy of developers, for example new and upcoming games on gen 9 seem to be going back to 30 fps gaming, which is not great.

I don't really think it's a case of expense- look at steam games compared to PS there all the same price unless its for a sale. Arguably the main thing is a lot of PC only games and or indie games tend to lean between slightly cheaper but even then I wouldn't say that's really a proper nitpick.

I haven't noticed these new 30fps gaming maybe I'm not playing the right games.

Yes sounds good to me, and then if there is no TSW4 or Rush Hour style summer bundle, which seems incredibly unlikely now, you can buy the current DLC you'd like instead.

Honestly even if TSW4 came out I'd likely wait a bit until December for Christmas sales unless it has a route I love like a SWR or SWT route (which is incredibly unlikely). If its a RH thing I'd likely only get the UK route.

Just because I'm not the greatest lover of international routes

Fair enough mate, do what's best for you. I don't blame you on only buying the British routes and I do exactly the same, as I just don't have the interest in the international stuff either.

Going to add something I forgot-

I feel like it being TSW4 is just unlikely. Why would JT be making a route we KNOW is for TSW3 if it will release less then a month before TSW4, for TSW2 there was a 3 month gap between IOW2022 and TSW3 releasing so I feel like having JT's route in the air kind of eliminates the chance of TSW4 making it seem more and more likely that its TSW3:RH or something along the lines

Ofcourse jt could be making the route for TSW4 but we didn't get leaks or teasers for any route of TSW3 until it was announced last August so it just doesn't seem likely. Maybe it's just my wishful thinking.

Yes I honestly have no clue as the leaks point towards it but common sense and trends in the past don't. I suppose all we can do is wait and see how the cookie crumbles.
Haha, yes I thought the same when you said it too!

I would still go for that SEHS bundle because I know I would be kicking myself if it disappeared on the 21st (the day before the supposed announcement) and then having to buy it all separately in TSW4. On the other hand we don't know what's going on for sure until this announcement and if you can survive on your PC until then, you may as well. As I said above it really does just depend on what you think is best for you at the end of the day.

That is true I would be completely destroyed. And I don't think I can really survive any longer on PC unless I want to ditch a load of games... and I think TSW4 will deifnelty have dlc port (would be stupid if it didn't) I think the switch is worth the risk I just wanted thoughts.

Best thing is to buy the cheap bundle. Hopefully older routes are compatible with TSW4.. If not, it's still a great bundle and product. It also wont have that much routes available day one if that's the case.

Edit: And it's always nice to have access to a earlier version, like bugs that happend from TSW2 to TSW3 crossover.

Honestly if not I think Dtg will make a MASSIVE mistake- they've done it for the past 3 games so why not the 4th?

I dont know, they probably can't keep fixing older routes forever. It's a huge task.

While route choice will influence your decision, I would strongly recommend you don't buy that bundle, and instead get this one:

    https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP2866-PPSA07618_00-TSW3DELUXEDITION

This gets you Cajon, Kassel, SEHS and SOS (plus TSW3 itself of course). Four routes for 12 quid is an absolute bargain

Yeah I saw that but the the thing is there's no point- arguably if im not ever going to play the other two routes that's over 20GB of space lying on my ps5 that can be used for routes I enjoy

I recently bought and installled a new ssd (first time ive ever tinkered) and was easy to do. I now have a soare drive for my sims. I have a series x too but no way i could play it on there personally. I juat find it a more clunky experience

Personally if I was choosing between XBOX and PC I would of brought enough SSDS to fill a small micronation. I just am not a fan of XBOX controllers and it's design.

But I adore PS controllers and everything so for this in my opinion its a lot diffrent. But if your an XBOX player I respect it.

I'm going to buy it on playstation 5 soon, in the next hour or so just going to have breakfast first. Getting the SEHS super star bundle. Thank you for everything!

Thank you! I'm downloading it as we speak - going to go out to sort out a few bits then should be hopefully installed. Thanks!

The routes themselves aren't contained in the core and are individually downloaded (and not even downloaded by default). I also noticed that TSW standard (SEHS Cajon Kassel) is 9 quid until midnight. Its a shame you missed the sale last week as away from SEHS everything else in the super bundle was discounted individually by at least 20% excepte the Acela (Diesel was about 40-50% I think), so you'd have probably saved another 20 quid

If my maths is correct, Standard for 9 plus the other bundled DLC at RRP still comes in at less than the £45 for the super bundle by about five or six quid

IMHO you should take advantage of the ongoing PS sales. From experience they´re quite massive when it comes to TSW. IIRC the next sales will be Xmas sales EoY.
Regarding your fixation on UK routes: As a German (nobody´s perfect anyway) I´d never have thought how much I would enjoy the UK routes. All of them open a window to another train world and it´s pure pleasure and fun to drive on them. Think about it, you might find out vice versa!

But of course, every man to his own, I respect that.
