For locos that have 2 cabs, if something is not in one of the cabs you can usually find it in the other cab.
Hi, Is it normal that when Vr2 and Hp2 are shown, but the upcoming points are not restricted to 40 km/h, there is no Zs3v or Zs3 showing "6" (60 km/h) for example ? Another question : on the German railways, how are temporary speed restrictions enforced (when there are some trackworks for example) ? Is there a specific set of signals (with specific shapes and colors for example) or are the standard signals used, just displaying lower speeds ?
Regarding the first question, normally Hp2 means 40kph unless there is a Zs3 enforcing another limit. So a single Hp2 without anything else = 40kph When temporary works are taking place there are so called La's (Langsamfahrstellen) and Lf signals. The drivers know about the La's beforehand and the Lf signals are mostly triangles displaying the speed limits and a "A" signal for Anfang (=beginning of the restriction) and "E" for Ende (=end of the restriction)
Just in addition to what colinL has already stated. In Germany you will find that Hp2 does not always mean 40kph. However, you will not find a signaled indication for this, instead on ASig and ESig it can be specified to the driver within his timetable. In reality it looks something like this: On LFR you will actually find quite a lot of these examples. In theory this can be any speed, but in reality you will find mostly 60 and 50.
Ok thanks ! So these specific speeds can be shown with Vr2 and Hp3 with Zs3, but sometimes only in the driver's documents. Understood.
Query- how long does an Hp2 or Zs3 remain in effect? To the next signal? Until overridden by a higher Lf?
The answer is simple:… it depends. if it is an Esig or a Zsig it is valid to the next main signal. If it is an Asig until the end of the switches of the station. But there are many cases not covered by this main rule. Examples are single zs3 (without a main signal), which are valid until the end of the switches of the station. Another example block signals at a junction, which acts like a Asig. But there are also Zs3 at automatic block signals, which, again, are valid to the next main signal. There are probably more situations, but I probably don’t know all of them myself…
Although there aren't any actual S-Bahn services on these two routes, would anyone like me to do Produktfarben S-Bahn liveries for these (similar to the mint green, but orange)? Actually, some of the AI traffic on NID might be Frankfurt S-Bahn. Anyone know?
I appreciate any and all kinds of n-Wagen liveries Apparently, the S6 called at Bad Vilbel ever since the start of the network in 1978. I don’t know if that’s represented in the AI traffic. That’s all a quick research showed me.
I'm pretty sure some trains (BR110 + n-Wagens) can be seen calling at Bad Vilbel as AI traffic. Not sure if they're meant to be S-Bahn services. Since there isn't an era-appropriate PIS, and they are not driveable, it's hard to tell.
I`ve never been able to catch them calling in Bad Vilbel, only rushing through. Both, the BR110 and the BR103. The BR110+n-Wagen do call though in Heldenbergen-Windecken.
Hello everyone. Has anyone else encountered a problem with the liveries for n-wagens and their cabcar with LFR and BRO installed the same time? When I have BRO installed, I'm not able to choose any other livery for them except the BRO ones. DTG JD is this a known problem? For me it's similar on PC and PS5.
I don’t know if having both installed is the issue, but I can confirm that I’m unable to select reskins on LFR on PS5. Scenario Planner works fine though.
I think this is the issue, at least in my case. When I uninstall BRO, everything on LFR works fine and you can choose liveries from CC in timetable mode like on any other route. I just wanted to figure out, if this behavior is prototypical or it's me who's making some mistake.
I have a question regarding the BR 110. Isn't the MCB supposed to "cut out" when applying to much power ? Im referring to the BRO 110, when they showed this loco on the previous stream, they pushed the loco over 65kn and the mcb was flying off. I drove a freight train on LFR with the 110 and accidentally went over that 65kn limit but instead of the MCB cutting out, i just went straight into wheelspinning. I then tried it a couple of times, the MCB always stayed in. Is that supposed to be like this (wrong behaviour on the BRO 110?) Or is the LFR one behaving "wrong" ? P.s. sorry if this was already discussed here but this thread has become quite large since release.
There is no 65kN limit. The actual limit is the Oberstrom (the current drawn from the catenary). Exceed 420A and the MCB blows. It’s a dial on the left side of the desk - check that.
The "65 kN" comes from the fact that when starting out from a standstill it takes about 420 amps of current to generate 65 kN of tractive force. But that goes way down as the train speeds up.
Dear DTG, will be signalling on this route fixed sometime? Everytime, there is some divertion to platform which is not on main tracks, there is problem with signalling. There are speed restrictions to 60 kph on these swichtes which are not signalled before. There is speed restriction warning, but speed restriction is right behind it, so this signal is too late.
Can anybody from DTG make a statement to previous post? For me, this is important in making decision about buying TSW4, because I will not buy it if there is still risk, that you will abandon another content in broken condition. Linke Rheinstrecke could be the best TSW DLC, but it is just another very bugged one. DTG Matt DTG JD
95 km/h at 1200 meters seem to be plenty of distance. My braking points at 100 km/h are approximately 500-600 meters with a EMU (same as IRL). These distances are with the brake already applied at the desired rate. The goal is to be at around 60 km/h at the start of a 240m platform (80 is still manageable with a clean, dry rail, no slope, and a modern EMU).
That's what is done everyday on the Paris RER and Transilien lines, to this day nobody was hurt, haha ! Though the SNCF trains are driven smoother than the RATP ones. It could even be driven harder than this on the German S-Bahn :
I drove an SE (what does that stand for?) recently from Koblenz to Boppard where then it continues onto Emmelshausen, which is unelectrified. The service was operated by a 110 (the previous service came from Mainz), in reality would it be a 218 operated service or would there be a loco swap somewhere?
SE = Stadt-Express. A thing back then, now all replaced by RB or RE services. I would imagine that any service which ran partly on u powered track woulb be diesel; local trains generally don’t do loco swaps if possible . So, yes. a 216 series with n-Wagen, or a DMU would be most likely
Diesel-operated all the way. The timetable on LFR took a lot of liberties in that area. All of the traffic going on the Nahetalbahn (diverging from our route at Gau-Algesheim) should actually be Diesel operated (mainly 218s) but are instead pulled by 110s in TSW.
I still dont understand, why is Rheinstrecke abandoned content. Because it is in unique era it can be good cashgrab to release more content for this route (DB BR 218, more passenger cars, some freight locomotive, etc).
There are many routes like this. I'd love to see more older traction in TSW, but it looks like DTG has moved past releasing "DLCs for DLCs" and focuses the additional content on the core routes. In TSW3, this was SEHS, KGW and Cajon that got the majority of new trains (Acela was the only exception if I remember correctly). I would expect the same trend to continue in TSW4 - new trains for the TSW4 core routes, maybe layered into additional upcoming releases.
I would like to see more additions to this track also. Besides the bugs that we still have in the signalling (and I really, really would like to be fixed by DTG) this is easily one my favourite routes currently. A BR218 would be a dream!
LFR in general has loads of potential for future additions and to become a 90s SEHS in terms of variety. Hopefully DTG jump over their own shadow and create something out of the ordinary. IR - Coaches, maybe even with a 120, 111 for D-Züge, 140 and 141 for RBs, 150, 151 and 155 for freight, maybe even the 152 as a modern addition in the late 90s, the bespoken 216/218 series, shunting with the allmighty 363, ... and all that amongst one of the most famous and scenic german routes with an already good timetable that just lacks rolling stock variety... c'mon At least we could start with enabled CC liveries on AI trains...
So I just purchased this route and I see it would be great if they would implement the distance scenary as they did Vorarlberg and Antelope.
Lidar was explained in stream but implementing lidar requires starting from scratch. It's not something you just turn on.
Yea once I watched the full stream I heard when Matt mentioned it. Oh well. At least we know how great it looks and that it will be implemented for future routes
IIRC Lidar was used on LFR. I'm not sure we'd need distant scenery as the route is mostly set in the Rhine Valley. What would be a good enhancement would be to have the right hand side properly modelled/ represented. Even if it was just static art/ low poly models, it would make the area more realistic.
Just completed this, gold medal. It's possible that the issue was fixed since reported, or it may have been a save game issue.
I was able to complete the service, but I cannot win the gold medal. I tried twice, and I came up ~250 APs short each time. I think the problem is that I get no score for arriving on time. This is the last service in the Short Circuit chapter of the Journey. Same happens for 63759, the first service in the Alternating Current chapter, and 70195 in the Winter Wunderland chapter. My journey is complete, but these 3 services prevent me from getting the Completed to Gold.
Since the TSW4 day 1 update to Linke Rheinstrecke, I am now getting "Wechselblinken" (85 and 70 flashing alternately) in restrictive mode, which is good. However, there is now also "Wechselblinken" after acknowledging a 1000 Hz magnet, so the PZB indicator lights are still broken, just in a different way than they were before. This is on the class 103, haven't tried the 110 yet...
-Still missing 110 kmh warning board (Mainz Direction) -there is still a weird 120kmh section of about 10m just before an actual 100kmh restriction outside of Boppard Hierzenach (Mainz Direction) -we still miss a signal at around Uhlerborn (Koblenz Direction) leading to inevitable SPADs (because there is the Vorsignal Missing, you only got the repeater signal, giving you an Instant emergency break with about 250 to the red signal. In a 160kmh zone) Checking this again, it seems to be the "Asig" going out of Uhlerborn. There is a main signal that is missing an attached distance signal. This was stated here in this thread already. Confusing why this wasn't sorted out.
fabienlimp95 I doubt we will see this patched ever, route is now half a year old, plenty of time to get it right. The feedback was their from day one :-(
I mean, they fixed the issues with the 'not releasing brakes' on the freight wagons on DRA two years after release.... never say never ? Otherwise this would be an (another) example of a route never living up to its full potential and full glory. Can't imagine it is impossible to add some signal boards and one signal
This! This! This! It is one of the best german routes so far and it could be soooo much better with some minor changes and fixes, and as always it is never coming to full potential because no fixes. Maybe with TSW6 and a re-release of the track with TOD5? ^^ The problems are minor and known since a few days after release, so I will never understand why it is not fixed.
It’s just a guess, but maybe the number of people who play HUD-less is just too low for them to be concerned with this kind of thing :/ With the rate new DLC has been coming out, maybe they don’t want their staff to linger on old routes. But yeah, it’s baffling.
The signalling problems coexists with the hud, as the hud differs from the "track" information you get.
In my opinion, this kind of things not seeing patched, its clearly wrong priorisation or taking paying customers for granted. Im still on win 7 and intending to buy the win 10 with a new rig in mid2024, also i decided to take a different approach in 2024. I enjoy tsw, but i was pisse'd at dtg a lot in the begin of 2023 because route releasing states, lack of bug fixing etc etc. So my plan as a "must own all dlcs player" is to skip 6-8 months and buy everything on sale which has discounts between 50- 80%. It even has the benefit to get "updated" routes.
