Those issues are not problems with the core audio, but sloppy mixing and/or programming of the loco or route. A core upgrade won't help with that.

I have found something as well on the TSW website that is related to a new UK train but I don't know if I should spoil it...

Same as I've been saying for a year now. Great customer service push offs is all I hear from them.

I haven't trusted them since Rush Hour when they said it would be all in a bundle until the new year. So I held out for stuff to be fixed before Inwas going to buy but in early November they gave is 4 days warning that it was being discontinued and you will have to buy them all separately now. Don't worry we will give plenty of warning before we do tis they said.

I think this will be an interesting and entertaining couple of weeks. Whatever it is as long as the British offering is a gooden I'll be more than happy.

I didn't even know TSW had a website until today, or is it just the dovetail live thing?

My opinion on what the new routes could be:

Note that this is in no way based on any facts and is pure speculation based on my opinions and past trends from DTG.

    US:

    - New York to New Haven. Even though the last US route was also the NEC, New York to New Haven would be a great US route to have for the face of TSW4 (assuming the timetable is done properly on the first try). A lot of the rolling stock is already in the game and we know DTG like routes that reuse existing stock.

    - LIRR revamp + extension. It’s very much in need of a revamp and we know that DTG are capable of revamping and extending routes (SEHS last year). Also, LIRR has a lot of potential despite having a horrid timetable that hasn’t been touched since release making it a prime candidate for revitalizing.

    - Hudson Line. An opportunity for DTG to introduce an Amtrak diesel (P42) while also reusing stock from the Harlem line. A good route to contrast between the urban environment of NYC and the scenic Hudson River valley. Would also allow for freight in the timetable as a layer.

    - Washington to Baltimore. Another part of the NEC. DTG have experience making it since it was developed for TSC quite recently and we know DTG does like to look to TSC for inspiration. Similar to above, the stock needed is already in the game.

    DE:

    - Berlin to Leipzig. This would be a slam dunk German route for DTG in my opinion and would fit perfectly as the main German route for TSW4. Berlin lacks representation in TSC and TSW in general and would be a great addition. A lot of the stock needed is already in the game and the variety of layers in the timetable would provide a great gameplay experience (assuming DTG does it right).

    - Generic high speed route (Various options; Berlin to Hannover, Kassel to Hamburg, Leipzig to Nuremberg,…)
Would not be my cup of tea, but I could see DTG doing it. Similar to Kassel Wurzburg, it would be a route very focused on high speed running and might include the new ICE4.

    - Cologne to Koblenz. A classic in TSC. It would offer a variety of gameplay if done correctly. A lot of opportunity for proper freight runs, commuter, and RE services. Cologne and Koblenz are already in the game and, as I’ve said many times already, DTG like to reuse trains and parts of other routes.

    UK:

    - East Coast Mainline South. The primary candidate in my view. This and the accompanying class 800 would be the flagship route and train for TSW4. Class 700s would do the commuter services. HST could also possibly make an appearance. London to Peterborough and Cambridge would be amazing, but if that’s too much then just London to Peterborough would be acceptable. London to Hitchin would be the absolute minimum though.

I honestly don’t think there’s many other options for a flagship UK route for TSW4. I don’t see DTG doing another southern DC route or having a generic London commuter route as the face of TSW4. I guess a dark horse candidate could be Manchester to Liverpool given we saw Manchester make its first appearance a couple months ago, but ECMLS still seems like the best option given its notoriety and the existence of the class 700 in the game already.

    Wildcards:

I guess there’s a small chance we could see a route outside of the US/DE/UK. It’s unlikely, but a French route could be an option. Given we know DTG just got bought by a French firm and that the Marseille TGV route is a top played TSW route (confirmed by Matt various times), I wouldn’t be extremely stunned to see another TGV route in TSW4. Another wildcard could be Canada. Instead of a US route, the North American route could be Canadian, but I find that unlikely for various reasons. (Oakville wasn’t popular among others). Finally, the ultimate wildcard would be a country we haven’t seen from DTG ever. There’s many options, but Australia and Japan would be the most likely candidates for the first exotic TSW route. Although, I also find it unlikely DTG would attempt such a route to be the face of TSW4 since they probably want to stay with what they’re familiar with and with what they know sells when making routes for a base game.

Good guesses. I think for Washington to Baltimore I don't think they have the license for Marc. Hudson line they won't be able to use the Acela or ACS-64 which I think would fit what Matt mentioned about smaller deeper holes analogy. ECML isalso on top of my list. For Germany I was leaning towards Leipzig to Dresden.

I do hope the next US route isn't another Northeast Corridor route, plenty of other regions to cover. I also agree with ECML South being a good possibility.

    Here's some food for thought:
München-Augsburg gets a SEHS style revamp. Matt has actually mentioned on stream that that would be a route they may consider updating for the 420. Now in terms of extensions, it could be extended East through the S-Bahn tunnel to München Ost and west towards Ulm.
This would also open up the possibilty of new rolling stock (BR 440) and a completely new full timetable with the ICE 1, 612, Talent 2, 101 etc.
And DLC like the Vectron and 420 would make it even better.
The current version of the route could really be better, especially with the timetable, München Hbf really feels quite dead.

The issues is not many regions in the US that they have licenses for passenger service. Freight they have many options

Washington to perrysville md with Marc services would be good. Without that it’s pretty empty

Oakville wasn't popular not because it was Canadian, Oakville was unpopular because it seems like the idea of the route shifted during development. It looked like it was gonna be a mixed Passenger Freight route with Go Transit and Canadian National, that didn't happen, and whatever freight services that were left only utilized a part of the map, and a large part of it was unused and inaccessible.

Yes I actually quite like Oakville, apart from the oil loading scenarios which leave you twiddling your thumbs for 10 minutes. However it should have gone from Toronto Union to Niagara and included both the local and long distance passenger services.

Something Canadian West would go down nicely, Kicking Horse Pass a firm favourite in MSTS and TSC, those CP chime horns send a shiver down my spine every time.

OS upgrade... I presume you're paying for the hardware at the usual £1000+
And of course Apple take a cut of every purchase via their app store, and any micropayments you make through their system, and card payments through the wallet...

Either way, you're paying somehow on most of these things. DTG doesn't have those secondary income streams so they almost have ot maintain primary income and that means charging for certain things.
Not saying I agree with TSW4 being one year after TSW3 if that's what's happening. Still unsure as to whether I will buy it if it's the case unless it's a total rebuild with certain possibilities...

I'm totally neutral about what they are about to announce. The TSW3 release was not convincing enough to make me preorder it. I played it for free on Game Pass and haven't bought a lot. I only started buying on playstation in sales and I think that's what will happen with TSW4 for me. Probably worth buying after everyone complained a lot :D

A question to everyone, are people feeling more excited or nervous at the moment regarding the August announcement? At the moment I'm probably just a little more excited, then again, I worry a little about being disappointed. :D

I'm very excited! Can't wait! Little nervous as I'd like it to be set modern day with an 800 but like a 91 would be alr too.

I'm excited. We have been talking about TSW4 since TSW3 came out. Everything we wished would be in TSW3 will be present in TSW4.

I also know I will be disappointed :D

Gamescom in Germany is starting August 23. Xbox is gonna be there. Could be they'll include this new release as a new third-party Game Pass title.

Marketing in tandem with Xbox could be why they chose August 22 for the announcement.

Neither because I don't do "hype" or "anticipation" when I have zero idea of what they're going to say and seven years of history of what might be not coming from this particular direction...
Some people thought that TSW3 was going to take the game in a new direction. Not sure why anyone would, at this moment in time, think that anything DTG have to say on the subject will bring anything new (and unbroken) to the market

The nerve of these guys. So much they couldn't get right or were straight up unwilling to fix in TSW3 yet they have the nerve to have a TSW4 on the way.

Honestly - this. People say Oh TSW4 is 100% coming.... With like 2 pieces of circumstancial evidence. A epicgames leak (and spanish leak) which can easily just NOT be TSW4 and the Preorder Leaks which... actually seems the most likely out of the 2 evidence to be valid.

As for evidence AGAINST TSW4 well.... lets have a look.

    - DTG german locomotive that still hasnt been released and was only recently added to the roadmap showing its coming out for TSW3

    - Skyhook Scenario pack for the US - Definetly evidence enough that its for TSW3 and NOT for TSW4

    - UK route by JT - We KNOW for certain its built for TSW3 so its obviously COMING for TSW3 not TSW4

    - 420 by TSG - been there for ages, Seems to be TSW3's equivilant of the 313 if anyone remembers that.

    - NYC timetable enchancements - I do NOT see DTG doing this unless either NYC is the american route (which would be horrendous) for TSW4.

    - Save Game - We KNOW this is coming for TSW3 so that still is there

theres even more but the other pieces are more circumstancial. Theres just evidence on both sides showing evidence with more leaning against it. But that new code leak though is really suspcious.

Didn't the roadmap from TSW2 just move over to TSW3? BML was already on the roadmap of TSW2. So was Boston Sprinter which got its remake in TSW3. Everything on the roadmap for TSW 3 becomes roadmap TSW 4

A false prediction: BML remake is coming to TSW5

I think DTG need to step in and calm some of the more emotive hyperbole in this thread.

It's a computer game, one that most of us enjoy (or we wouldn't be here, right?).

    Well....

See some of the threads and you question that.

There are people who play it covering it up with "Theres no other game" and that elsewise the game is horrible and DTG is the worse company ever.

    So yeah.

    Only the minor changes -

TSW2 made sure ALL routes and locos where released before TSW3 was even close to being announced (IOW2022 came out like a couple of months before TSW3). I think with the amount of locos, routes and addons there are left to do it'd seem stupid to move it. ESPECIALLY if there going to UE5.

The only thing DTG can do to calm us down now is handing out beta copies to everyone. We will shut up for a few hours but we probably will be back with even more emotive hyperbole

Whatever we get I hope it comes out well done and not halfbaked. We don’t want a repeat of the MML or the WCMLS releases on TSC and TSW

JD or Jan should add the TSW4 tag already so people who hate the TSW4 talk can ignore it more easily. They need to make the tag soon anyway. Less stuff to do for the admins when the 22nd arrives :D
