Custom Liveries don't have eras, especially ones that aren't based on reality.
Besides, that does nothing.
If I have a Southern 377 and I paint it in ScotRail Saltire, those are both modern. Therefore, both would spawn, still an immersion killer.

It's worth noting that the game is still over month and a half away from release. They could still be messing around with the internal stuff to get it all set up.
It could also be a case that only, say, Gen 9 get this and Gen 8 don't, meaning it has to be seperate from the core.

There's absolutely nothing to suggest it won't be bundled in with the game.

This thread is simply nonsense in my opinion. This "TSW4"-speculations have now reached a new high level of absurdity.

 

I have it on good authority, TSW4 will contain a direct microtransaction to the DTG fund in the Chatham Wetherspoons...

I heard that the sole reason guard mode was brought in was because we'd need to buy a ticket with real cash to ride as a passenger. In Germany and US it would be fairly straightforward but for UK routes we'll need to select the right ticket out of the 96 available options and if we had the incorrect one DTG will be issuing a penalty notices.

 

Going through any game will make things come to light that are unused, used to be used or were planned to be used. The Creator Club ownership thing is an example of that - we already know why it exists, and just because it's in the game's data doesn't mean it's used. Look at all the unused tags in Halo games for instance. Quite frankly, nothing in the screenshots in the OP have any important meaning - I think Matt's earlier post proves that much of the concern on here is a load of rubbish. Plus, the theories of the uses of these tags are hypothetical to say the least - TransactionIdentifier is more likely to have something to do with the game identifying what DLC you own. It would be interesting to find out what these weirder tags mean, but it's worth noting an in-game store is a faux pas on pretty much every platform TSW is available on and would likely result in the forced removal of TSW from storefronts and the potential revoking of any license agreements they have with Sony, Valve, Microsoft and Epic Games.

 

About the store, I know Steam allows under certain circumstances external stores. About the transactions, there are additional things i'll post later

And I mean i've said it before, it's not ment to be seen as proof, more about speculation, and well discussing what the actual purpose and use is, so misunderstanding is a possibility, which had happened. I also said that they might be solely experimental - but we can discuss the future or not?

Just as a quick word on this, the assets that you name are files associated with livery editor decals for the Weather Themed decal pack that came TSW3.

They are in fact really dull assets.

The _DCL files are metadata that give you the text associated with the decal in the livery editor (PreOrder_Wind_DCL.uasset is for "TSW3: Wind", for example) and point to the vector image associated with that decal (In this case Preorder_Wind.uasset).

Speculating on what's coming is fun, I know. If I didn't have gainful employ here at DTG I'm sure I'd be speculating with you.

 

I’m assuming all this alarm is coming from looking into the game files of TSW3. Isn’t that a bit like rummaging through my bins today hoping to find next week’s newspapers? TSW4 isn’t out yet, so the files would not be accessible as they don’t exist within TSW3.

You often find references, code and so on in previous releases. TSW4 is most likely a base update, as the rewrite suggests

 

Multiplayer will be fun! It should be just like the timetable… run a signal get kicked from the server. Any of the trains can be driven at the same time however only one person can drive the service which goes for the UP heritage units. Only one can be driven until that user leaves the server. I can only imagine the things you could do in multiplayer.

 

If that’s the case TSW3 it is

True but Im minded to think of DCS where the serious servers have a filtering process involving training in that groups SOPs etc followed by a lengthy probationary period. In TSW this could manifest itself as yard work, route learning etc before being let loose on the mainline. That would filter the wheat from the chaff

people who are just driving poorly on purpose (trolls), or people who actually dont know how to drive, and will sit at a station for a while trying to figure out why the train wont move. and on routes with tight schedules, with trains close together, it will be hell

 

but even then i doubt multiplayer would ever happen
