I'm going to put forward a proposal for my own dream route and something that hasn't been done in Train Sim World yet, a preserved railway as it was back when it was under GWR or BR ownership. For this I have picked the Severn Valley Railway: Shrewsbury - Hartlebury + Kidderminster. The stations along this route consist of: Shrewsbury Berrington Cressage Buildwas Ironbridge Coalport Linley Bridgnorth Eardington Hampton Loade Highley Arley Bewdley Kidderminster mainline station (via the loop line from Bewdley) Stourport Hartlebury The route from is roughly 40 miles from Shrewsbury to Hartlebury and about 38 miles to Kidderminster, a reasonable length for a TSW route. Route map: Potentially featured locomotives: GWR 4500 Class "Small Prairie" - Pictured at Hampton Loade. GWR 5700 Class Pannier Tank - Pictured on Oldbury Viaduct GWR 4300 Class - Pictured at Aveley Sidings (Site became Country Park Halt, in preservation) These are only three I handpicked, there are plenty of other locomotives that ran along the route, including BR standard and ex-LMS locomotives. A more detailed list can be found here: Locomotives used on the Severn Valley Branch in commercial service - SVR Wiki A few notable locations: Shrewsbury station (with older roof) Severn Bridge Junction & Signal Box (Largest Mechanical signal box in the world) Shrewsbury Locomotive Shed Ironbridge Couldn't find an era appropriate photo in a good size. This route is the only potential chance this iconic landmark has to appear in TSW. Ironbridge A power station Bridgnorth Tunnel Alveley Colliery Sidings Victoria Bridge/River Severn Stourport Branch What remains now, the branch headed off towards the right. Stourport-on-Severn station pictured below in 1969. Stourport Power Station Kidderminster goods yard Best photo I could find of the old site. The Kidderminster station of the preserved SVR now sits here. Kidderminster mainline station While the SVR in preservation era would be nice, I feel you won't get the full potential of this line unless it was in GWR or BR era. You'd get more mileage out of the route and another great representation of a world that has long since been and gone. There's a good amount of locomotives that could also be considered for additional DLC opportunities or extra timetables set in a time where the BR DMUs starting taking some of the passenger duties along the line. Bring it on and you now introduce a GWR 5700 Duck Class locomotive to the game with Maroon colour as a possible alt paint to run Metropolitan line as a layer there.
Wow this would be amazing! I love the SVR and to experience that whole line in its heyday would be a dream come true!
