What Do You Think Dtg Will Announce?

On August 22nd 2023, Dovetail Games will be announcing things they have been working on so what do YOU think DTG will announce?

TSW4?
A TSW Spin-off Game?
A Big Update?
A Rush Hour like DLC?
ECML?
WCML?
A Welsh Route?

I have a feeling I'm not the first to do this type of thread..

 

• If they did do a Welsh route I hope it would narrow gauge
• More than likely a TSW4 (I think)

But I’m not the whole company so what do I know

 

A big fat TSW4 in UE5 with the best routes we have ever seen. Guaranteed*.

ECML with Flying Scotsman is fairly certain but I have no idea on what other routes will be included. ECML made by DTG in collaboration with all the UK third party devs in order to make it the biggest and best route in the UK catalogue*.

*If it isn’t all or any of the above it will still be something rather good. I doubt there will be a Welsh route but maybe later in the TSW year as a DLC.

 

In addition to what I've listed elsewhere, I think we might finally be about to see a public editor (or at least much more advanced scenario planner).

Just a feeling, no 'hard' evidence other than reading (probably too much) between the lines of what various DTG employees have mentioned (or neglected to reject) over the past few months.

 

Something that we shouldn’t be paying for.

 

So Dovetail pay their staff with Oreos and Gummi bears then so you can get your software free!!

 

I think we are either going to get an announcement on TSW4 or 3 rush hour DLC's for TSW3 with long awaited performance + dispatcher improvements

 

No, they can pay them with the revenue they get from all the DLC they sell.

 

As I said elsewhere we will most likely get a pack with at least three routes for a decent price and then also possibly some core improvements and updates and it will be given a jazzy name to make it sell. As long as the British route is good the chances are I'll pick it up.

What gives you that idea?

 

The Orient Express Paris-Istanbul including the London-ferry-Paris extension, covering all OE routes and rolling stock from all eras

 

The exciting route from Santa Fe to Belen, NM on the Railrunner Express. 65 miles @80MPH in the desert mountains.

 

This is most likely what is going to happen. It may be too soon for UE5 and I think from what was mentioned before, UE4 is not running at it's full potential or fully optimized for TSW3 in it's current state. I think there is a high probability that we will get needed performance improvements for TSW3 along with a core update and dispatcher improvements. From the Work In Progress update for the New York to Trenton route, I remember the devs saying that the dispatcher in it's current state requires an update or optimization to handle the increase of traffic with the signals along the NEC. I also hope TSW follows the same update pattern as TSC where we won't have to pay for yearly iterations of the simulator

 

I would just be happy with a version that runs stutter free (or nearly). I'll keep my fingers crossed, but won't get my hopes up too much.

 

As if they don't get money with the dlc they sell. This point is baseless. DTG won't go broke if they don't do another paid update

 

Even cookies and candy cost money. There's no getting away from capitalism.

Just like ( almost ) everybody else on the forum, I have absolutely, completely, unmitigatedly, 100%, lock, stock and barrel, altogether no idea.

And I don't want any leaks or spoilers, don't want to know until 8:30am on August 22nd, because I have to have all my streamers and balloons up and all my drinks and snacks lined up ready for the big reveal.

 

LOL could you imagine somebody having a reveal party for this announcement? I'd bust a gut laughing! Incidentally, if anybody does decide to do this, make sure to post pictures of it on the forum. I could use a good laugh

 

That would definitely be funny I am eagerly waiting for August 22nd for the big reveal.

Rush Hour 2 and the new feature will be police trains

The actual title will be "Train Sim World 3 Rush Hour 2 No passenger left behind"

It will feature disaster scenarios with huge explosions and tornados so you have to get your passengers to safety. And for the first time in TSW history there will be police trains. They will start pursuing if you start speeding so you have to outrun them otherwise you can't stop at the next station

 

The big announcement is that finally passengers are able to get inside the train.

 

Best guess is a HUGE update, imo slightly less likely; a whole new game.

Whatever it is, I just hope it releases simultaneously on console. I just want new routes and/or all the old gems brought up to Tsw3 standard (or better) but this feels unlikely.

Track editor feels probable for some reason.

The ability to make your player character dance and can unlock new dance moves as you level up, also you get paid in game money as a salary for being a train driver and there is a shop so you can buy items of clothing and items you can adorn the train cabs with and maybe your character can have a house and you can buy items to furnish it.

( Please note: I may be joking and not taking this seriously!)

Which actually isn't that much when you consider how niche train simulators are you have to realize there's nowhere as popular as trains are trucks or hell even cars for that matter

 

It will be Training Centre (sorry, Center) 2.0. £50. That’s it folks.

 

No, no, only ambassadors get their software for free. Right?

 

The single biggest improvement they could make for the community (given that a public editor will never happen) would be an all-new Scenario Planner, giving much more flexibility to creators to add services, tasks, with full control over consists, portals, stopping/destination points, etc. It goes without saying that all major outstanding core bugs and issues should be addressed (including once and for all the shamefully awful Xbox audio quality).

Im not even going to lie I dont even care what it is anymore - If its TSW4 so be it. If its something else so be it. I've blatantly lost all intrest do to how these forums have tore this topic to goddam shreds. When you have 5 of the exact same post all active at the same time it looses intrest.

What is probably going to be announced is something that probably will be something most forum members will start crying at, namely because a large chunk of the people have convinced themselves that they know what's coming but in reality know absolutely naff all..........

 

If you have a problem with that then go speak to Dovetail.

 

Well a route editor would be the best thing for TSW imo. Opens up endless new route possibilities created by ourselves. Can you imagine the buzz in these forums with all the screenshots of our creations? A bit like the heyday of the UKTS forums.

If it's just an advanced scenario planner I'll be bitterly disappointed.

Oh if we got that may god have mercy on our souls - it be SO limited because of consoles it'd be WORSE then the current scenario planner - you can only have 5 stations, can't use liscening of non existant operators, can't use your own assets.


Theres a reason a route builder is only on TSC and not TSW.

 

ALL issues and bug reports will be fixed.

 

Passengers will finally get off at the terminus rather than staying on to spend a night in the depot.

 

Whatever it is it can't be worse than what those greedy executives at Rockstar Games are doing charging full price for a lazy port of red dead redemption for *not* modern consoles.

Just as long as the next game has a reason to upgrade with stand out features like Scenario Planner 2.0 or a fully fleshed out Guard mode I'll be satisfied.

 

I fully expect the announcement of TSW4 or TSW2023 as a paid release, the promised patches being held behind this paywall and lackluster releases before we get TSW5 next year

 

That was shocking… everybody had their hopes up for a potentially beautiful remake of RDR…

 

Please no, the first iteration is utterly hopeless, the fact they pay people full time salaries to work on that baffles me.

DTG reminds me of the GTA definitive edition because that game released broken (many TSW routes) had to wait months for a patch (many things what DTG do) and the patches for the GTA definitive addition haven't even fixed the game (like many routes on TSW MML Edinburgh to Glasgow and many more) BTW sorry for talking bout another game just trying to make my point.
