I think there should be an option to use dynamic weather in service mode. It would work as follows: You would choose a starting weather, for instance " spring - cloudy " and then there would be a checkbox that you can use to enable dynamic wheather. The weather would then change randomly according to the season you've set. (i.e. no snow in summer). I really think this would add a lot to the game, given that there already is a wetness and snow accumulation/melting/drying mechanic in-game. I think this feature would take full advantage of it.
I'd love this too. Also, sunrise/sunset times should change with the seasons! It's a bit weird choosing a sunny summer day and watching the sun set at half past six in the evening.
This would be neat. Also might be interesting if the game would match conditions for your current local time and weather or the current time and weather for the location you are at in the game? No idea if that is even possible but just a thought. But anything more random that you have to deal with would go a long way towards making this simulator more realistic, even going beyond the weather.
Fully support this, also better rain, currently the rain is too white like snow at least like TS2019 that its believable. And possible of Fog at night as it seems to only be daylight hours it worksn
yes i think dynamic weather would be good. you could be driving along and all of a sudden heavy rain or fog
Also related to this, on the weather select screen, going to 'Custom' doesn't allow you to change the seasons. You have to select a preset (like 'Summer Rain') and only then can you change it. There is no option for seasons.
I suspect this is a limitation of Unreal Engine. You probably have to specify the cloud state, precipitation, wetness, etc, when creating the game world and it can't be changed on the fly. Of course, if other UE4 games have dynamic weather, then I'm wrong about that. It would be nice to have a special 'Cornish weather' mode, where it's sunny one moment and pelting down with rain the next. That may have to wait for the extension of the Great Western line to Penzance.
I would love this. Going from a sunny summer day to a huge dark thunderstorm would add detail to the game.
Yeap. Weather implementation is not that bad. It depends on location/season and temperature too (for snow creation). We just need thunders, lightnings and some changeability over time, in addition to a fix for fog which is totally binary (the circle cap of fog around player). Cheers
