I know that there are probably countless reskins of other locomotives to look like these on RWA, and a version of a Santa Fe northern from MSTS, but I would love to have a definitive version of one available on the steam store. It is probably one of the most popular classes of steam locomotive in the US today, and could be used on so many TS2018 routes for excursion scenarios including the up coming Raton Pass! Of all the engines that I want to see in Train Simulator, I would probably want this one the most.
The US Steam market feels sorely under represented with many models being a bit long in tooth like the Big-Boy and Challenger. I nice rendition of a Northern, to the standards of the well done 484 would be a most welcome addition.
My friend and I are currently doing some research in 3751 and the 2900 class 4-8-4s to build them after the J3a and SP GS-3 are completed and operational in the game.
Yes!!!!!! We need #3751. The Cajon or new Raton Pass Routes or the Pacific Surfliner Route would be perfect for this engine. Maybe the pack could include some Amtrak coaches and a P42DC or a BNSF ES44AC/DC/C4. If the engine was done in the 1930s-50s, it could include ATSF Super Chief cars and definitely some freight equipment and an ATSF caboose. I've seen the #3751 with FP45s which could be included for an excursion train. Also, the ATSF 4-8-4 pack could also feature a 2900-class 4-8-4 and other road #s of the 3751-class.
We're doing the 1927 original along with the 1939 rebuilds, Plus the 1990-present versions, but at this time the SP GS-3 and ATSF 2900 Class are more important as we have a large supply in original builder's drawings for those engines.
There is an MSTS model of atsf 4-8-4 converted to RW somewhere out there. Along with a lot of others.

Your suggestion thread was only created this past November. This thread is from way back in 2018. Also I'm pretty sure there's another thread on here that's even older than mine suggesting the same thing lol
You are probably right. I know a majority of threads are probably way older than I am. Honestly, I know for a fact I'm not the only one even requesting this suggestion be considered by the deaded DTG, but what really irks me about our suggestions (yours and mine) is that they're not being taken into consideration by DTG. Now I'm pretty sure Searchlight Simulations would love to make a ATSF 4-8-4 Northern, the question is will it be as authentic as the CP AC4400CW?
I feel like that Smokebox would be the better choice for developing a steam locomotive rather than Searchlight.
