As for freight trains improvement we need couplers strength physic to make these trains sustainable challenging. And some decent dpu/like system (you can easily fake working dpu with crusise control/like (afb) mechanic
I think the US is well-represented, we don't need a third California Route. Canadian Pacific in BC would be good.
One of the california routes we have in tsw is a freight only route which not everyone enjoys crawling at 25mph. Another is peninsula corridor, but that has issues. This is only the 2nd californian passenger route and only the 2nd passenger route.
This. I have always enjoyed western USA railroading and to me seeing Soledad Canyon in the game is a dream come true 6500 miles away. In fact I hope we get more western stuff in due course, Surfliner, the Cascades route, the Fort Bragg to Willits Skunk Train, up the Pacific Coast from LA towards San Francisco, Shanta route etc.
Fair enough; there is a lot of Rail in the West (and in the East!) and that players would probably welcome another California route if it was unique and enjoyable, and scenic like Cajon Pass without the time-consuming speed restriction. Routes in the US vary a lot in scenery and stock, etc, and that's what makes it a game with great potential!
If you're talking about Cajon Pass, it really isn't " crawling at 25mph " for much of the route. I drove most of it yesterday towards San Bernardino and much of it in excess of 40mph. Once you learn how to control the train on the gradient, it's quite quick and fun.
When you've grown up travelling on trains in Europe, 40mph is crawling. It depends what gives you a buzz I guess but I like to feel like I'm getting somewhere and love a fast changing landscape, which is why I've never bothered with US freight routes. I'd be much happier trying to control a freight train over Shap at 75mph with an express train behind me waiting for me to tuck into a passing loop.
Hmm, could we get banking comms in the F7's? I'd take a pink kitty bobblehead we have to pet to enable at this point
There are two versions Red BNSF and Black CSX Clinchfield. Both count towards 247 miles achievement and need banking comms for the mountain sections for BNSF F7 its San Bernardino Hesperia and CSX Clinchfield the whole route.
Happy to hear that! Would the banking comm be on your hitlist, or does that fall under train setup? Otherwise, getting those services fixed in which an AI train intercepts and blocks you out would be wonderful.
Impressive. When I go down the hill the dynamics’ effectiveness seems to drop off a cliff above 25 mph. What psi do you set the train brakes at?
Not to mention the flat run between Victorville and Barstow is either 55 or 60mph. People hear pass and immediately prejudice the route for being a slow boring hill climb.
Not looking forward to TSW4 and downloading all your content into it. Should stay with TSW3 for another year. How many bugs will we find in TSW4. First time I won’t buy a DTG product on release. Will wait to see the reviews and opinions first. I have bought everything so plenty to play with. I don’t need another TSW con full of bugs.
WCML? Don't be shy! It is going to happen sooner or later. Then there will be the trains. I for one am enjoying it at present. As we have seen on Brighton London commuter more services can cause dramas....
The map scales in Train Sim World are accurate, but they don't feel that large. For example, routes that exist in both Train Sim World and Train Simulator Classic feel much larger and take longer to travel in Train Simulator Classic, whereas they feel small in Train Sim World. This larger feel is what I meant by 1:1 scale.
I'm not sure, but Train Simulator Classic just feels much larger than Train Sim World when comparing the same routes. Perhaps the routes in Train Sim World are just more constrained. In fact, not only the same routes but routes with the same length also feel much larger in Train Simulator Classic than Train Sim World.
Well that's because tsc has longer routes. It's still a 1:1 scale for both. Both have different ways of building stuff and laying out stuff and the engine is completely different. While it may seem larger to you, they are still 1:1.
Can confirm TSW is 1:1 scale. If it takes an hour to drive in real life, it will take an hour in TSClassic and an hour in TSWorld. Happy to know we're delivering the features players want Matt.
Could it now be known as TSWorld..? Matt you have just done a JD. You will need to stand in the naughty corner until Tuesday!
Call it what you like - I usually call it TSWorld to make it clear from TSClassic but... do as you will I guess I could use TSC and TSW but hey Matt.
Anecdotally, I remember MSTS where the world projection did funny things the closer you got to the equator. I remember marking out a Japanese route, importing the DEM and the whole thing looked... scrunched up and odd. The opposite probably occurred at more northerly latitudes with the map more spread out. Glad to hear the TSWorld editor avoids that. Anyhow off to get the cat out of Jail (again) hopefully this time without having to use invincibilty mods then a bit of Dresden to Riesa.
If DTG were to introduce routes from other parts of the world, like Australia and Japan. Would they name it Train Sim World Global?
There's lots of talk about what routes we think will be coming, but what about new features? If TSW4 is really coming, there must surely be new gameplay features that will be introduced since that was the case with TSW2 and TSW3. So any speculation on what new features might be coming?
