    My wishes:
    - AI start using horn;
    - No more red signals at end of every scenario;
    - Adjustable cab camera;
    - Announcements;
    - Better rain and raindrops at windshield;
    - Trully random faults and events(with low % chance).

    Access to a few signal boxes and station waiting rooms. Sit on platforms benches. More action as a guard.

    Sorry being completely dumb here. Which route is BBO? I'd love to have another route to use the 401 on.

    How is it? Good scenery with a busy timetable?

    can you give us an actual distance scale instead of the crow flies one we have? it's a bit of a pain being told to drive 15 miles on Clinchfield and the actual distance travelled is closer to 25 with all the curves.

    The route is 46 km with bugs and the timetable is "decent"

    If you want another route with the 401, Linke Rheinstrecke is more appropriate

    Yes BBO is not the best route, seems to have been rushed out. It is quite short, suffers from red signal issues saving and resuming a game. However it can usually be driven in one play session even the stopping services which avoids that problem. The 110 is also superb and the N-wagon cab car bangs and rattles around so quite pleasant to drive from, unlike the Dosto 766/767 things.

    New features?
    *Roster Mode in the Timetable as I mentioned before, you take over from another driver if it's mid-journey and involves a walk from the mess-room or depot. Could even include signing-on and a look at the notice board for any temp route changes/disruption possibilities such as weather, engineering work, large events on route, potentially troublesome loads, seasonal warnings etc.
    *Random events - Probably hard to do retrospectively (TSW1-3 routes) but within the Timetable a service can have random events added, everything from more impactful weather events, lineside fires, general late running, to signal faults, exceptional passenger numbers, train faults and passengers pulling the alarm.
    *Timetable Editor - The ability to change consists within what would be allowed in real life (ie train length, traction suitability, loading gauge etc) and save it as a separate layer.

    That's sound great. Like it was in RW_Tools - swapping consist for player.

  16. I do love the idea of a roster mode.
    The idea of random events needs to be approached carefully I think. It may prove more an irritant than anything. Maybe other trains running late or something but even here it might prove irritating to those who care about the meaningless score (that being the only benchmark of one's performane).
    Maybe a review of performance for x distance based more on safety first with On Time Performance second, delivered as an email in game or something..
    Chances of seeing it happen? Somewhere between 0 and 0.1 I imagine.

    What about Story Mode? You follow the career of a train driver whilst they moves up the ranks. It worked for Fifa and F1 :D

    EDIT: Just keeping it light, not a serious suggestion

    I think the random events should also be adjustable with maximum difficulty/disruption level settings at increasing incrementals like;
    1. Off
    2. Minor
    3. Moderate
    4. Just another day on Trans-Pennine Express.

    BBO isn't scenic, but it is quite atmospheric, and its timetable is excellent. Its two big stations are lively, with a lot of varied stuff going on. For me, an average route with great traffic beats some of the better routes (MSB, the Ruhr routes) that lack full timetables.

    Because timetable is king!

    A career mode would be a nice addition, but not in the typical way, where the driver ranks up and unlocks new trains to drive on a route. Instead, a different approach could be taken. The player/driver would spawn in the station, station office, or yard office and be provided with a variety of services to perform, including the type of job (passenger, freight, shunting, maintenance, and guard jobs), the location of the train, and the origin and destination of the train. The player could choose whichever service they prefer. The train to drive would not always be available at the station where the player started the job. It might be at another station, which would require the player to travel to that station first via other trains. Or, it might be in the yard, which would require the player to go to the yard first, start the train, bring it into service, pick up passengers, and then bring it to its destination station. In some cases, the train might not be ready, and the player would first need to shunt the cars together before starting. This would most likely be the case for freight jobs. After finishing the job, the player would need to manually report to the nearest station office or yard office to conclude the job.

    All of this would be done with no HUD at all. The player would have to rely on their own knowledge of the route and the signals to operate the train safely and efficiently. There would also be a time limit for each job, and if the player failed to complete the job within the time limit, they would receive a penalty.

    I’m with you on the first paragraph, but the last paragraph…….harsh. I am driving with most of the hud gone, but you’d need an awful lot of knowledge to know all the routes, the signals and also have the added pressure of a time limit ;).
    Great idea, with a bit of customising I’d be up for it. :)

    Timetable is important but don't dare saying that MSB and RSN are less good than Bremen-Oldenburg

    Blasphemy !

    I like the Career Mode idea too maybe as part of the scenarios and/or training pack with the Roster Mode as an option in the timetable side of the game.

    I also think that route learning should be part of the training package, being able to drive under instruction would be a novel idea and help those who choose the Career Mode choice. It's every bit as important as learning how to drive the traction and would be more realistic than a training track as it doesn't help the driver to build up knowledge like gradients, signal placing, speed limits and brake application points for station stops.

    PS. All German routes in TSW so far are "meh" in my opinion. I might change that opinion if we get Berlin S-bahn or Munich to Innsbruck over the top.

    I take your point but whenever I play MSB I can't escape the feeling that something's missing, which takes me out of the sim, which doesn't happen with Bremen - Oldenburg. I just think "how great would it be to see an ICE1 skirting round this bend"

    IIRC, ICEs never took the Main-Spessart route. IC's, yes, but not ICEs.

    Honestly, I hope this is all speculation and it doesn’t mean a thing. But if that’s true why is this thread still unlocked?

    Because they are going to announce TSW4 tomorrow more than likely. As long as people aren't braking the rules, they are pretty hands of moderating on here. It's really nice to see.

  33. Let's see if a Sydney trains route like to Parramatta and Leppington Branch or Richmond is in it!
    A Tokyo commuter route.
    WCML over Shap.
    Another London subway like District line.

    Leaving aside my preference for the black hole in AC Network South East land/East Anglia, I feel it really is time for a substantial, lengthy electric UK main line route. Kings Cross to York/ Preston to Glasgow/York to Edinburgh/Paddington to Cardiff/Waterloo to Portsmouth or Southampton/Liverpool Street to Norwich. I'd even take a through Thameslink route at this stage, hopefully it won't be the most obvious of DTG choices, more DLC for Southern with those characterless DC-only 377s running the show.

    Something that shows us what TSW is capable of and starts to make up for the paucity of routes in which to thrash some AC traction at high speeds, with different traction options and provide some scenic eye candy along the way.

    My buddy who works at DTG has not been on Skype today so I am assuming that all of the staff have been fired and that this afternoons announcement will be that TSC/TSW will be immediately removed from all platforms :cool:

    Or we could get a backdated electrified route like a 1990s King’s Cross - Peterboro

    Maybe DTG Direct is a new live webcam of the office so we can watch them create masterpieces in real time.

    If it's 90's ECMLs it would have to include the Class 91 or "Intercity 225" as us old railway people call it.

    What if it is ECML set into the future? We haven't had any routes set into the future so far.

    A steam/diesel transition ECML with a Deltic and Flying Scotsman would be... well let's just say it's going to be a long month's wait.

    Yeah, but I mean if you want to see some apocalyptic railway - most of the time you will imagine Chornobyl.

    I saw a YouTube video on Berlin to Leipzig. A 190km route. Would be nice but I doubt DTG would implement it
