The stream time really doesn't mean anything in regards to what countries the new routes will be set in.
It really depends on what they are going to do. If they are going to show a pre-recorded video Nintendo Direct style then it does not matter what time they release it. If it is a live stream where we can ask questions then it will be a problem for many people.
8 a.m. for me, and I'm working remotely from 8:30 that day, so I get at least the first half hour while I'm eating breakfast.
I did (do) have the day off as I have had some long shifts this weekend so I was looking forward to sitting down at the back of the garden watch the stream on the computer and the trains go zooming by every few minutes with a nice cold can of Irn Bru in my hand. This was then taken away from me when the Mrs told me I was taking her for a day out in Skeggie on Tuesday. I tried the whole sympathy thing but it was the Mrs so it didn't work. I do find the time weird as now I will be watching it at about the time they normally stream stuff and by the looks of it I'm not the only one. Is it a tactical move I wonder?
Oh, such a sad story. I have found the key is to announce these things well in advance so my better half has less chance of scuttling my plans. In this case, I have the advantage of living in a time zone when the wife will be out at her swimming class. If the stream had been at the usual mid- afternoon time, chances are she would have found a chore or errand for me. Normally, my need to play with trains does not fly very well at my house either.
As Inkar quoted above, if it’s a live stream then there will be less questions to answer due to people being in work etc. Tactical, possibly, especially if DTG know they are not delivering the things people are expecting.
Tell her it's the stream or a mistress.. she'll quickly realise that having you safe at the bottom of the garden is the preferred outcome.
I can do this, I can do this, I can do this. Thanks mate! No, she'll kill me, I can't do this, I can do this, I can't do this.
Just tell her you will be on the stream and when it ends you just have to act like you are very hurt they have cut you out the stream. She will set you a hot beverage to calm you down and which you can enjoy whilst you join the conversation on the forum
Oh I wish it were that easy! My only option is leaving for Skeggie early in the morning whizzing up and down the beach and then drive my car like it was made to be driven back home. Will I do it by 2 o'clock? No. But will I try? Yes!
Heavy rain forecast for Skegness and surrounding areas tomorrow. Brightening up around 2pm. I’d stay at home if I were you. Why not treat her to a nice slice of cake out in the garden British weather, just can’t rely on it can you
I don't know about the time, but I think the date is to allow Xbox to include it as a new Game Pass title at Gamescom.
Already tried the weather card but the BBC weather is saying this so no luck there. Maybe I could propose making her a victoria sponge instead! Anyhow I shall stop complaining as I think I have made it clear that 2 o'clock is a really bad time for the stream. I was so excited for it, I even had a youtube thing set up so I could make live comments! If I watch it I watch it if I don't I don't. Also if there is an accident on the A52 tomorrow and I am never seen on this forum again just blame it on the time of the stream!
What if you've got the pre-recorded stream and then they cut to an actually live Q&A stream with the real JD
That might be a huge hint!!! Where is it sunny at about 1300UTC in the world??? A live stream to JD???? Matt was mentioning him in other thread...... last night or today.
Lol. It's not sunny in Scotland rn I'll tell you that. And it's not going to get much better. Probably sunny in Spain. Alot of people go on holiday there as well.
Same here. Will be out on a drive/walk with the wife, not home until 4pm or thereabouts. I’ll leave the mobile switched on and if the opportunity arises sneak a quick look at the forum but otherwise it’s probably going to be after teatime before I can fully digest the detail…and hopefully slap in my preorder!
Can't even get the time right on the Facebook announcement 2pm BST or 3pm UTC? (Which is 4pm BST). Wouldn't be DTG without some kind of confusion at some point!
What will everyone be wearing? Is it formal or casual? Trying out some tuxedo's but I don't want to be overdressed watching the stream
If your never seen on these forums again it will confirm my suspicions that DTG have taken you and TG08 onto the team to make the new scenarios lol Drive safely, enjoy Skeggy
I am just going to stay off here so the surprise isn't ruined. Anyway I'd best get through my other alerts as I've been given my 15 minute warning! Very sunny in Lincolnshire this morning. Ah I thought I'd found my escape route! I will mate, and thanks I will try my best to enjoy Skeg. Best be off!
Matt, I know it is bad to laugh at others misfortunes but I have found your posts on here hilarious to read!!! Thanks, you have set my day up well!!!
Well the sun is now shining in Swindon so we are definitely off for a walk at Hackpen Hill this afternoon. Feel free to start the party without me! But I will be along later, for sure.
Maybe they will announce they've acquired ViewApp and will start producing routes for TramSim. After all....TramSim has been very quiet recently.
I will watch the prerecorded stream “live” (yay thanks home-working) but refuse to get drawn in by the hype, largely created by ourselves lol. Past experience has shown the presentation will likely be anticlimactic, even disappointing for some. Do expect an update on the upcoming summer routes, anything else is a bonus.
For that time of day I'm thinking they might be announcing Australian & Japanese routes, to make the most targeted audience watch it live... I'll watch what it was in some 7 hours.
