I heard them referring to a Consist Editor while discussing Free Roam, but due to a telephone call I missed that bit about the Consist Editor. Can anyone summarize what's been mentioned about the Consist Editor?

As a reminder, DTG were promising an editor four years ago. I will believe it exists when we have it in our hands and not a moment before.

Blackpool-Ormskirk I like, one train only it seems but with some decent layerage.

 

So is everything backwards compatible? That hasn't been mentioned at all.

 

Impressed with the scope of the Preston route. Both Blackpool North and South included and plenty of main line.

It might bring back bad memories though when I travelled to Blackpool by train on a freezing cold snowbound day, changing at Preston. The train broke down at Kirkham and Wesham and I was stuck in the waiting room with no heating for 2 hours.

 

CH route on the roadmap - I hope it's SBB so can cross-pollenate with Luzern - Sursee (and finally add an extra train)

 

ATS seem to have disappeared?

 

I hope it's another RhB route which cross-pollenates with Arosa.

 

The 3rd Swiss route and Central Europe as a new region is great, Train Sim World is becoming less like Train Sim Germany, USA and UK.

 

Blackpool route looks beautiful can't wait for that!

Overall: mostly good but kind of pissed off with the lack of an additonal train on Vorarlberg.

I liked the ECML part but I hated the fact that the Pacer was in the Blackpool route and no SWT route was announced.

That was some very nice news Matt. Can't wait for what people come up with.

 

Antelope Valley and Vorarlberg were expected from the leaks. ECML section a bit of an odd choice, kind of from nowhere to nowhere and can't say I'm a fan of the Class 8xx era. However it is what it is.

Core updates look good and while the route editor might be above my pay grade no harm in taking a look. How will routes be distributed I wonder? Creators' Club or Steam Workshop? The Scenario Editor 2.0 long awaited and also sounds good.

So overall from what I'm reading so far my reaction is mostly positive and my Deluxe pre-order will be going in as soon as...

However, DTG Matt I do have to ping and ask - does the Railtour set have a buffet or restaurant car in the consist?!

 

I checked on my xbox - Game is £39.99 and has a 20% discount to £31.99 to preorder. Not that bad tbh

 

Wow and I can see the locomotive pack being ÖBB Baureihe 1216 1293 4744-4748 Siemens Desiro ML. Let's see if one of the German routes is an international one towards the Netherlands there are possibilities for it. These can be Rhein-Ruhr West Venlo Wuppertal Steinbeck Enschede Dortmund Hagen Hollandstrecke Duisburg Oberhausen Emmerich am Rhein Zevenaar Arnhem Utrecht and lastly Osnabrück Bad Bentheim Hengelo Amersfoort. Remember on standard train assist it will remind you to change voltages from 15kv 16.7hz to 1.5 kv DC. however on expert mode you need to know this already on how to do it properly otherwise Power lock

 

They just announced it on the stream and it's on the PC platform only which they can share to us consoles unless it's also restricted to PC only. On the PC versions the Microsoft store one is the same as the Xbox version

Bit disappointing felt like the ECML section could have been so much more complete if it went to York or Leeds. Nice to see lots of UK stuff in the roadmap tho. Also what an amazing song to use on the trailer

I don't know if someone else did but I'm gonna guess the next three german routes

- Highspeed Line Cologne-Rhine/Main (Cologne to Frankfurt, or a part of the route)
- something with Berlin, perhaps the S-Bahn routes and a bit of DB Regio and/or Fernverkehr too
- idk

 

But, but, what about the TSW2 updates?

Just to be clear, I couldn’t care less about them. It’s the knowingly stringing people along that annoys me.

 

Up on the PS store as they said it would be—$40 on PS5 for base game, definitely thinking about it…
I’m not clear on exactly what the visual updates are for console users, missed the beginning of the stream but did they quantify any performance improvements?
Either way it’s the latest and greatest get with it or get left behind. I may wait a bit need to wait for this glow to wear off.

Well I see TSW4 is listed on Steam (if you search for Train Sim World 4) but no preorder options yet just add to the wishlist.

 

I don’t see why the editor can’t work on PlayStation?

 

Noticed the same. I guess all it takes is a little more patience.

 

Because UE editor isn’t optimised for consoles… it’s very difficult getting an editor into consoles, it’s the same story with Fortnite although Fortnite has a downloader for consoles and TSW doesn’t, yet at least…

 

I was honestly prepared to be disappointed, but I’m not. I like 2 of the routes and there are a lot of things added that I’ve been wanting.

Editor is not for me, but there are many talented modders out there and I’m excited to see what they can do. Could literally be a game changer.

Still not planning on a pre order, need to see feedback first. Not going to risk it as there is way to much to get through in the Steam Refund Window, but a lot happier with what I’ve seen than I thought I would be.

Don’t care about having to pay for it, I’d buy 2 of the routes + the Vectron anyway so I’ll just consider it a route bundle.

One thing I didn’t see and hope is included is the ability to turn the scoring off. Don’t need shiny medals and points.
