You know it makes sense. It would really enliven this route, with some red to add to the blue. Also when you cross the ECML on SEHS.
I saw alot of azumas at Edinburgh last week so it would be good to have some of that traffic replicated. You could even have services playable as far as Haymarket. You can have playable services as far as lilinthglow, as the Sterling and Inverness services go through that way
There's no guarantee they'd add the LNER class 801 to Glasgow-Edinburgh (the Scotrail class 385 was never placed as ai on Cathcart Circle for example) but i obviously 100% agree, it would be great to see the new azuma as ai on Edinburgh to Glasgow (obviously at edinburgh only and as ai only) so it's definitely great to suggest.. as without suggesting it it may go the same way as ai class 385 on cathcart, or rather lack of class 385 ai on cathcart
All the southbound platforms being completely empty at Waverley was one of the most glaringly unrealistic parts of that route. Those are the trains I come into Edinburgh on every time I visit.
from memory the 385 was not added as cathcart circle was set in a time before they were introduced on that line (2014 vs 2019)
the 385 wasn't used on Cathcart at that time, but they were used on the the lines that head immediately west out of Glasgow Central and past Shields depot, so could be included as AI only services (and would as a result make Glasgow Central look much much busier). So you wouldn't drive them on the Cathcart loops, but they'd be present at Glasgow Central.. just like the new Class 700 will be present on ECML at Peterborough only
Isn't Cathcart Circle set in 2014? If so then it would be unrealistic to have the 385 layer onto anything at Glasgow Central as they didn't even exist at the time.
that's fair, for some reason i thought i saw Cathcart was set in 2018.. if it's actually set in 2014 then this makes sense not to add ai class 385
Yep, Cathcart is set in 2014, known locally as the Year of Lies and Regrets, and the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Just thought I'd throw that in there. Moving on.
801s run to Stirling according to one of my friends that work at LNER, as Stirling is electric and there are occasional 801s that do King’s Cross to Stirling, what I can’t remember is the time
