Shortly after TSW3 came out, we got the loco pack with the Dispolok 182, Sante Fe F7, and RHTT 66. It was priced lower than a general loco DLC, but based on reworked versions of stuff already in TSW, with new scenarios. Then we got another, similar idea with the ROG37/Rainbow ICE/BNSF SD70. Looking at each new TSW4 route, and the fact that there are some obvious things in prior content which could be reworked for these routes/operators, I am going to predict now that we will see a similar loco/scenario pack with: Antelope Valley: MPI MP36 and Bilevel cars, made to Metrolink spec but based on the similar stock made for Peninsula Corridor. Austria: OBB Taurus based on the BR182 we already have. ECML: I’m not as sure for this one but best guess would be a HST/Class 43 LNER (and I’d love to have a HST on an actual long fast route).
Austria this might be 182 reskinned as 1016/1116 with Wiesel Doppelstockwagen or 1293 which itself is reskinned from the Riesa-Dresden 193. Both Reskinned Austrian locos count for True Taurus 1820 km and Riesa-Dresden Railpool Vectron version achivements. ECML LNER HST or Class 800 with alt paint being GWR US Metrolink MP36 which itself is reskinned from Caltrain meaning Caltrain version achivement counts towards it
Rivet are making a gameplay expansion pack which will be releasing within the next 3 months but we don't know what it is yet.
The other option for the ECML is a Hull Trains 802. There isn't that much they could for it really...
hull trains would only operate a few trains a day to hull, the intercity 225 would be alot more unique and give alot more
i just cant think of anything good they could release other than the class 800 to work on services which cant use the 801
It's notable that there are no DTG 'gameplay packs' on the roadmap right now, but I agree with the general assertion that I hope to see some updated locos fairly quickly to fill out the new routes. Perhaps the ECML HST could be the New Measurement Train - something like the RHTT that could have a run on every modern route.
I was just about to suggest the New Measurement Train HST lol. But yeah that would be a good idea for a gameplay pack.
For Voralbergbahn it could be a reskinned Br182, reskinned IC coaches, a reskinned Vectron or maybe even a Railjet set! But I doubt the last one would be 4,99€ haha
The IC coaches aren't a reskin, they are different to the DB ones. RailJet would be cool! There are only a handful of EC services vast majority are RJ stock
Although not strictly correct for the era, ECML needs a Class 55 (Deltic) add on to the same standard as the Class 31, 40 and 45 etc. Throw in a set of Mark 2 aircon stock (with a Mk1 buffet car finally) and I'd hand over £25 tomorrow. The Deltic could also layer on NTP, to represent the period when displaced members of the fleet were utilised on Trans Pennine services. Anyhow Flying Scotsman is hardly correct either between Peterborough and Doncaster as most railtours head off from York towards the S&C or north to Newcastle and across via Hexham to Carlisle.
I am surprised we have not seen the network rail test trains in the game, the flying banana hst etc. If these were in the game, they could be used as layers on many of the British routes.
Let's hope it's good and not let us down like the routes they make some of them are good like the Island line which I love but Edinburgh - Glasgow is alright but west Cornwall local is not the best.
Yep. Matt literally wanted to move on. There is already an MP36 in game. Just reskin it, update any bits and bobs to make it into a metrolink train and add it to the base route. Wouldn't have been much work
One could be a diesel pack for PFR. I'm sure matt said they were discussing that sort of thing with the 3rd parties. Could be one of the new 3rd's locos?
Think there’s a few people forgetting that loco packs are reskinned/slightly reworked existing stock. IC225’s and 1st Gen DMU’s (outside the 101) aren’t coming in this. I reckon that the MP36 (as above) in Metrolink spec, GBRF 66 for ECML & a Railpool 187 is on the cards.
An LNER Class 43 can't be ruled out especially since the GWE version has recently just got Livery Designer Compatibility.
Certainly, I think there would be a timeframe conflict with the route but I do agree it’s a contender. I also think that DTG might want to come away from almost doing a clone of the TSW 3 loco pack, which also had a 66 & ES64, the OBB 1116 is very likely as above. The reason I think that it may be a 187 is that it’s finally been updated (somewhat), and the GBRF 66 because we do really need some GBRF stock at this point, especially with the locale of the ECML route. Personally I’m very bored of the 66, but I’m thinking the loco pack is going to focus on the new routes & combining having to use existing stock, with route picks, that the 66 will fit best.
Easy money to just make a reskin basically, then sell it as a separate add-on. It could've been present at launch, but god forbid a route actually releases with two trains!
I wonder how the Class 700 fits into all of this. The SEHS variant was released at a reduced price so everyone thought a different variant would either come with TSW4’s British core route or a DTG loco pack soon after. But we obviously aren’t getting a new 700 with TSW4, and there’s no DTG loco pack on the roadmap. So why did they sell it at a reduced price? Perhaps it’s part of one of the upcoming unannounced British DTG routes?
Reduced price for a reduced (length) unit Most likely because it's either a gesture of good will or they tried the cheaper to sell more idea?
I reckon a GBRf 66 pack could be on the cards for ECML, given that GBRf have a large presence at Peterborough and Doncaster
So as of now the 700 is a kind of orphan. Nowhere to run and flex its muscles. Doesn't run on ECML, just AI at Peterborough, doesn't have a place on BML. Just runs a stopping service on the slow part of SEHS. Gotta believe there's a plan for it to at least layer in to some future high speed route. Otherwise it was done simply to satisfy popular demand?
You would have those with brand new locos that are much more expensive. These are more like filler dlcs that can be made quickly. There are loco dlcs in regular rotation as well according to roadmap
If we can have a railtour Flying Scotsman we can have a railtour Deltic. Alycidon ran on the route last Saturday.
Actually one of the questions I meant to ask for stream: what 66 are we getting with ECML? It has already been said a 66 is coming with the route, and I think everyone is assuming EWS because we always get EWS but has that been confirmed? From what I've have read GBRf would be more realistic for ECML.
Yes, and that part of SEHS is one of the most tedious parts of the game I find after playing it for years on 377, 465, 395 and now 700. Guaranteed there will be another 700 route of some sort. I don't think they'd put the work into such a good loco without putting it somewhere else and/or using it as a basis for a 700/1 that ends up on a new route.
182 and Vectron in the ÖBB fleet are 1016/1116 and 1293. Railjet is paired with a 182 think of the Hauptstrecke München Augsburg 08:40 Augsburg Hbf 09:10 München Hbf RJX63 20:40 München Hbf 21:10 Augsburg Hbf RJX66 these run Budapest Keleti to Frankfurt am Main Hbf.
GBRF would be much better suited yes, but we are assuming it’s EWS, both because it’s confirmed & DTG only ever give us the EWS version. Even the RHTT 66 would have been better off as GBRF, but we still got the EWS version & that was for a paid pack. Even the DBS version has vanished from existence whenever the 66 has come back.
LNER HST seems a shoe-in already, considering it's just a rework of the GWE HST. Much the same as the TSC version of it. Also; who could say no to a HST?
Very true, CC is full of them. In all fairnes though, if we are getting another 'new loco bundle' I'd rather we got something like the New Measurement Train HST instead of yet another class 66.
