I've put together a few points that would be nice if you could show me exactly how it works. The rest we'll figure out how it works. Landscaping (painting, etc.) Track laying Signaling (if I remember correctly, they are created modularly.) Vegetation place Things related to the track (set speed limit, etc.) How to build a scenario (if it hasn't changed much, skip this point because it was shown in the old livestream.) How can I make changes to an existing official DLC. If I understand correctly, I cannot modify existing things, only add new things to the existing route? Track section export (For station modelling.) And finally, a few good tips to make things easier. I know you can't cover everything because it would take too much time, but these basic things would be nice to see. These points I've put together might be of interest to other people, even people who will never use the editor. It seems like a very complex editor, but I think it's learnable for everyone, it is only the first steps that are always difficult. Thanks!
I haven't sat down with the team yet to think about the best way to showcase the editor but I'm thinking a quick guide to getting a route started and what you can do, quick and simple signalling for it, making a simple scenario and running it - kind of an end to end of that, ought to be easily achievable. An overview of what making a timetable might look like perhaps too. Probably very quickly scan over many of those topics but you won't be able to see it as a tutorial particularly, as it'll need to be fairly quick and demonstrative rather than a tutorial. We can then go down into depth on each of the topics with future videos. Something I need to get a good plan for one way or another for sure
That would be great Matt your tutorials on the TSC edititor were really well create and helped explain things in a easy to follow way.
yes those are very good and useful videos it would be nice to see something like that in the near future. But it takes a lot of time unfortunately and I don't think Matt will have that much time.
Pretty much agree with the OP list. Landscaping will be a key part. I did have a look at the UK Gov Lidar site a couple of days ago but it's a bit of a maze as regards what files to download. I eventually got some stuff in .tif format, tried to open it with the Transdem (Trainz) programme and got told it was an unrecognised format. We also need to know how to use fallback SRTM data, for those areas where Lidar might not be available - if looking at something like a fictional recreation of the old Bermuda Railway, or the round the island St Kitts Railway in the Caribbean (both on my bucket list to build in one of the sims) where the best is probably going to be the NASA 30m DEM.
If you have someone who's inclined, maybe they could do something along the lines of Nat's livery editor videos?
