WCML is highly requested but a very large map to develop, this shorter alternative would be much more possible, the route is reasonable in length, not to long or short and would feature birmingham new street which has already been developed on TSW3, this could also layer onto birmingham cross city as rolling stock would be the London midland class 350 . This would make the route look much more busy as new street is currently lacking as it has not filled its potential as one of englands busiest stations as the only service there are 323s which makes it extremely unrealistic (simalar situation with manchester picadilly) this station has lots of potential and it should be used, also just before Walsall you pass a large freight yard which could be full of potential for things such as scenarios. Finally there would be opportunity to expand it in future and maybe even add the pendolinos
