While I'm absolutely ecstatic for Flying Scotsman and the possibility of having a custom scenario with 4 steam locomotives. Will AI locomotives puff in train sim world 4 otherwise it'll fall completely flat
There are a lot questions around the state of steam in TSW after the empty SoS, silent AI and the still not implemented firing
I'm going to say No with the way steam is currently set up. The AI steam loco's lack of exhaust sounds is due to the AI not using full simulation/physics. Which can be confirmed using the "ts2.dbg.railvehiclephysicsenabled 1" console command which enables it, but causes more problems and performance issues. Unless DTG can come up with another way to do this then I dont see it being fixed or a priorty imo. Especially when Adam confirmed the other day that Steam (even in TSC days) does not sell well and nearly always makes a financial loss. I personally really want to see steam improved and issues sorted before they keep churning out content for it. Such as the AI sound issues, full manual firing features and general improvements.
That's a proper shame as I thought peak forest was a popular sell, and ecml will fall flat if one wants to record Flying Scotsman departing (along with any other steam locomotive) hopefully it is sorted soon but as you say it's probably not a priority
I think it should be more a priority because I suspect 3rd or 2nd parties who could look at doing work for TSW are holding off until steam is better implemented.
