I’ve got a question when looking at the prices Whats the best one to go for TSW4 for special edition, or Deluxe Edition normal edition and what’s the difference south-eastern high speed old version and the new version and is it worth getting the special edition?
It depends on what you want and what you’re looking for. I’m gonna get the deluxe edition since I have all the other content. If you want early access the tsw 4 with the flying Scotsman, vectron and Riesa - Dresden (upgraded) then go for either special or deluxe. Although I’d say the special is only worth getting if you want more than the base content and don’t have any other dlc from tsw 3. Base Southeastern currently has the London - ashford & faversham with a Dartford extension and class 465, 395, 375, 66 and an expanded timetable. Dlc is the class 700 and the ROG 37 + white 375 which as add new services. When tsw 4 comes it will receive an update which will improve scenery and stations. Old Southeastern, (tsw 2) only had London- faversham with the Class 375 and 395 with the 465 as dlc.
Do you have lfr, sehs, bpe and lgv? If so, you're wasting money to buy the special edition. Deluxe edition is the best version. The new sehs has an overhauled timetable, new graphics, brand new track and tons of brand new layers
Remember that if you own any Southeastern HS version it will be automatically upgraded when you buy TSW4. You do not need the Special Edition to upgrade it.
There are also regional starter packs, but they won't be purchasable until launch day. If you aren't interested in other routes this will be another option upgrade to TSW4. The value is much lower without a discount compared to other packs, though. Details of those are in this forum post, as well as other useful information. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/purchasing-train-sim-world-4-all-you-need-to-know.72714/
As others in the thread have said - if you already own the ‘classic’ routes that are included with TSW4 Special Edition, get the Deluxe Edition. No sense in paying again for content you’ve already bought.
