Indeed, Dtg gave a very valid reason as to why Bml doesn't have rush hour passengers so no, they didn’t mislead anyone.

B-b-b... When I last played Bml there were passengers, maybe I'm wrong though and they're actually Skrull's.

If so then God help us all, the Skrulls have learnt to invade video games aswell as TV series.

    PANIC MODE ACTIVATED!

I still remember Synthetic Angel or Plastic Pal or whatever, the guy who was going to sue DTG for false advertising ;)

    Oh, those were the days.
Or, I suppose, are still the days, if this thread is anything to go by.

  8. Yeah. Its a bit cringe tbh. We all like to have a jolly good moan when there's a gripe to be had, but taking a company to court because a game isnt quite as good as you'd hoped..? Really..?!
Have a whinge, get it out of your system, let the seller know youre a bit peeved, move on. Maybe even learn to love it again. But don't threaten legal stuff over a game and expect to keep the room with you.

Ranting is my way of showing DTG I have firm belief in the potential of the product btw ;) If I thought it genuinely was rubbish I'd have stopped banging the table and left by now..

I will very much take the ranting and criticism for that reason specifically - better to have a loud passionate group of players than a quiet apathy-filled group of players who just don't care that much.

As long as its constructive and not rude and abrasive... i'll always take it :)

    Matt.

Rush Hour was so called because the theme of the bundle was busy commuter routes. DTG happened to give the passengers a bit of a facelift, with more varied clothing and some improved movement logic (?); hence the term "Rush Hour passengers" arose, but the idea that "Rush Hour = Lots more passengers" is just silly.

(Besides, on PC passenger density is just an .ini tweak anyway.)

What? It's both and Dovetail literally called them rush hour passengers in their announcement, and during the live streams they talked about how the numbers were increased on each platform.

"Rush Hour brings a brand-new passenger system to Train Sim World 2. As you drive from station-to-station on Rush Hour routes you will see a greater variety in passengers and higher passenger volumes at peak times. All recreating the hustle and bustle of rush hour on three busy routes. "

That's just pure apologism, my friend. I mean I've accepted DTG's explanation of why RH passengers were not implemented on BML, but your misrepresentation of the historical record ( which I've seen in other contexts) is unbecoming.

Time will tell what features slowly disappear and end up as a "one time thing" for just marketing reasons.

Going with a new suspension technology, thats a very good thing. My expectation is at least every new train must have it as quality standart.

So what about a br185 versions now?
    - 185 mrce rro
    - 185 mrce rsd with updated brakes p/g/r
    - 185 mrce with new suspension?

Its really not about the traxx, but maybe its about time to clean up this mess and bring the older loco models to the one which is most updated. Means also older routes uses the most modern technology of trains. Same for wagons & dosto cabcars etc.

As far im aware this wont have influence on the a.i physics, since substitution works on all the different versions.

For me even now its annoying to pick the most updated loco on scenario planner because there is no name to distiguish. So immagine a new player comes to tsw, whats his impression of 4 different class 66 with each different update standards?

Cant even tell which n-wagen are mint and which the red one.

Dont get me wrong the amount of rolling stock for tsw is really impressive, but this mess has to be sortet out.

That's simply not true. You'll still have TSW3 if you purchased it and you can continue to play it without shelling out any more money. A subscription means you lose access once the subscription expires if you don't renew or stop paying. Internet and cable TV are subscriptions. If you don't renew or stop paying, your internet and cable provider shut off the service to your home and you can't use the internet or watch TV, period. TSW3 will continue to work after TSW4 is released, they just won't be supporting it with future patches. They have no obligation to support previous versions indefinitely.

  15. I wonder if the suspension feature could benefit from a new track model for un-welded track? That could be quite cool..

We already have jointed rail - look on older routes like NTP. Those will be a more bumpy ride.

The enhanced suspension feature, even on CWR, will be a big step forward for immersion. I'm wondering whether there will be an audio element built in. Currently going over junctions, crossovers and diamonds can be a tad quiet on some routes.

I love driving the Acela at speed and even now there's plenty of vertical and lateral movement, but not a lot of track sound.

I also think the suspension upgrade will change the game for me like when they introduced the smooth transitions between grades. I have a hard time going back to e.g. RRO(or was it HRR?) because it just feels so unnatural in places with the sudden changes from 1% to -0.5%. This may make everything feel much more natural.

Will jointed rail offer a different haptic experience than welded rail? If not, add it to my list.. :)

Well I only tasted it inadvertently, but a bit like muesli without any sugar!

  22. Thats very cool! Its been a while since I've been on NTP. I must re-immerse myself with it as its a fab route and I like the traction it comes with. It was a half hearted hope so to hear the suspension will be engaged with that is very nice indeed!
Thanks for the heads up Matt :)

Currently we handle detection of joints and junctions etc to do the audio track joint sounds - haptics and suspension both now key into that, so you'll see the bogies dip briefly, and you feel the "du-dum du-dum" as you go over junctions from your lead vehicle (can turn off of course too), but I quite like the feeling of crossing a bunch of junctions as you leave a big station, then out onto welded rail for minimal effect, with the odd junction buzzing as you go past it etc.

Thats a good one, considering universal DTGs rush to push the routes out :D
