Hello! DTG JD, please confirm if the Free Roam feature will be available on older routes. According to this FAQ - Train Sim World Add-On Guide, this feature will be available only on new routes.
Only Nahverkehr Dresden updated to TSW4 should support free roam. Others? In the link above only new routes will have this feature, but in the roadmap part 2 it should be available for your entire collection. What is correct? Only would like to know: if only new routes - okay, but please edit the roadmap to no confusion. And if for all routes please edit FAQ
free roam is a game feature, not a route feature, so it should be available on every route. in the add-on guide above they probably just included the words free roam like every other new feature in TSW4, but maingame stuff like scenario planner and livery designer 2.0s aswell as free roam and photo mode are available on all routes. stuff like volumetric fog and passenger upgrades (again) are only available on newer routes and upgraded DRA, as they are route features.
available on all routes means available on all routes, it doesn't matter if timetable or not, a route is a route and a feature is a feature.
If so, tell me why am I able to refuel/load/unload cars/locos in scenarios and not in timetabe (except direct services of loading or refueling) ? Is it feature or route problem? There is immense difference between free roam on empty brainless route and full timetable/signalling route IMHO.
because in scenarios its coded to have lots of extra tasks to do and you have so many possibilities especially when creating your own scenarios with the editor, but in timetables you just... follow a timetable from A to B. I do have to admit timetable mode is a bit boring, it's missing coupling trains and other stuff too, but whatever

PC editor definetly yes when making custom scenarios like that, free roam too maybe, but you'll have to set your destination quite a few times to achieve a shunting uhh yes
I would suspect that if you are in a yard/siding that had manually operated points/switches then it will be no different than any previous sandbox scenario and you can shunt away to your hearts content.
I see my self starting with free roam when firing up tsw4. Still want to try so many things i couldnt because the restrictions.
I mean you can already do this in HMA. There are two 423s parked in the morning at Maisach in the siding. Simply couple them together and set a path to your hearts content. And that should allow you to drive 4 unit long S-Bahn through the map. Don't know what happens after the service of the second activates.
