    Morning,

as I’ve just discovered, there are actually coal trains layered onto BRO, but their implementation leaves me guessing.

    1. They’re hauled by double headed 155s (at least the one tried - first run in the morning), which doesn’t work in real life. 155s can’t run double headed - they lack the hardware for this. It would only work with two drivers (one per loco), which obviously isn’t the norm.
    2. DTG didn’t implement a fake system to double head them, which means that even in TSW, the second loco is just dead weight. Why is it there in the first place?
    3. Tried to see if the banking comm is the answer, but pressing it immediatly crashes the game (on PS5).
Don’t get me wrong, I love that the Falns get more use since they’re fantastic cars in real life (though TSWs’ are in dire need of a physics upgrade). But I can’t make heads or tails of this.

Was anything ever said on this that I’m missing?

The real diagrams said it's a double header freight train but I didn't know at the time that 155s can't do that.

That consist spawns sometimes with the BR 182. I drove once the BR 155 service, without knowing that she doesn´t have the capabilities for double heading.

Sometimes in the HRR route the double header freight services will be a 185 plus a 155. It's not a new glitch.

Ah, thanks for your input. Without looking into it, I’d have assumed it’s a 151 or 189 double header, but that’s just speculation.

What a curious video. To be fair, there are various reasons why a dead loco (panto may or may not be raised) could be carried along. I’ve had a short stint working in loco maintanance for DB Cargo and I’ve seen all manner of weird things. However, maybe MEG have upgraded their 155s? If memory serves, they did some extensive work on them equipping them with a speed selector system similar to the 143s. Maybe double heading hardware was part of that?

I think it´s a MEG thing. It seems they modified their 155s for double traction, also with the 143 or the 156. Not sure about PRESS though.

Another weird curiosity from the video is 155-015.1 apparently doing a banking job (5:40 forward). Just couldn´t find any reference for that particular loco (DB Schenker?).

You’re right. While Wikipedia doesn’t cite any sources for it, it says that MEG modified the 155s as discussed. Doesn’t say anything about PRESS, so I would assume that they lack that modification.

It was a DB loco at that point, later Railpool - though sadly, she’s no longer with us. 155s doing banking was news to me, too. Apparently though, it did happen once in a while. Cf. here: http://schwarzwaldbahn.schiene-regional.de/wp60/swb/swb-e-traktion7.htm
