https://www.gamingbible.com/reviews/train-sim-world-3-review-a-first-class-sim-on-rails-20221004 Just in case for those of you who missed it, TSW3 got some stellar reviews last year. I think it deserves it.
Wow, one. Congratulation you found it. It seems to be not so in depth too and going through the DTG talking points, soooo ... Btw initially I was excited for TSW3 last year. I thought there were enough improvements to justify it. But as I was excited for it then, I could see the critisism for it last year too. And those arguments hold true this year again, if not they are even more valid. And in fact, for me TSW 3 fell short in the aftermath with its under par DLCs.
Why are there not many reviews? I looked at metacritic and there aren't even enough reviews to have a metacritic score. Only Xbox X has a 74 metacritic score because on that platform they had the necessary 4 reviews
Well I think it is because it is a very narrow market, and if it is picked up as a topic, probably because it is good for seo. So I wouldn't read too much into it.
Don't really agree on that. It's a game that I would see pop up in traditional media outlets like newspapers. It fits well on their gaming page. There is an audience for trains. I see lot of a times one of our local newspapers appear on metacritic
Birmingham, Glossop, Linke Rheinstrecke and Niddeltalbahn are under par? You sir have got to be kidding!!!!
Yes, yes, yes and no. But in one year ONE good route btw from TSG not DTG. I was really hyped for LRS and the 103, but again, after I've played every scenario and some timetable with no pleasure at all, you know I've really tried to give it a shot, but it is so bland, boring and inaccurate. Actually I'm really mad I paid for it.
I think Linke Rheinstrecke is a lovely route, although it could do with some more stock to make it a bit more varied. I love the old electric locos and I think the scenery is very well done.
LRS does not capture the 90ties in Germany. DB was colourful, crazy, had a lot of products (ICE, IC, IR, D-Zug, RE, RB, S-Bahn etc.) everything had its own colour, layout etc. - Next: PIS laughable, 103 not that impressive, re-used IC waggons, no 101 substitution despite it was the time of the rise of the 101. I think the hills don't look good. The original freight yard in Lützel would have been the better option (wich is a theme of DTG failing to present the correct freight yard on german routes)
I did say it could do with more stock, it won't all come that quickly. Although nothing has come at all yet so I hope it hasn't been forgotten. I agree the lack of PIS is annoying however I don't think the hills look bad, I love the way it has represented the railway, river and road all running alongside each other and the closeness of the towns on the road, which often seem to be squeezed in. Some of the existing stock which would be suitable, I believe need modifying which I imagine isn't a five minute job.
I know, but I am tired of excuses. I've just counted the routes for TSW 3. Eight. I've bought five. I had 1 excellent route (Niddertal), 1 barely matched my expectations (Bremen), 1 I'm still interested but holding out (Scotrail), the rest was sub par
The problem with people here is they don't realize the work that goes into a single locomotive. And DTG release quality. Especially for mainline locomotives. LRS had two locomotives I think? And a high quality route.
If I had a copy of Trenton I would probably find nothing wrong with it. All I hear is 'timetables' and 'services'. Don't think there is much wrong with it.
you could probably argue otherwise, especially on its release but once some of the bugs were fixed it sounds like it has improved. trackside scenery isn't amazing, along with issues with realism and the timetable being shorter due to lack of a class 222. luckily the timetable has improved from what i know i haven't played or seen it, but its a shame it didn't go to Philadelphia
There are so many trains now I wonder how many HSTs are there.... Things take time. Eventually these trains will make it to the sim. People need patience.
That’ll be your two glass eyes. If you don’t have it and even if you did but you don’t know what you are looking for you will think it is perfect. It isn’t. There are numerous issues with it. Signalling is so wrong that you cannot drive with the safety systems enabled, timetable is so wrong DTG are redoing it to make it how it should have been. It’s the same with other routes, there are problems with them, and just because you are blind to them does not mean they do not exist.
To be fair, I'd give it a good review and I'm one of the more vocal critics. At its bones its a pretty good railway simulator. But it could be so much more.....
Oh wow Gaming Bible gave it a good review! Everybody knows of Gaming Bible that well known not at all obscure found under a rock in the corner of the internet website! It's such a great site that the OP has counted it as multiple reviews plural! Stop what you're doing now and empty your wallets on all DTG products right now!
