There is one route I would love to see and that is Redcar Central to Huddersfield and I'll tell you why. I did thought to suggest it to Manchester Piccadilly but that's to long so Redcar Central to Huddersfield is perfect because you will be able to see the azuma at York ,Northallerton and Leeds but the 1 service a day Middlesbrough to Kings X will NOT be included because that uses a class 800. This route is 72 milles. The stops are.... Redcar Central Middlesbrough Thornaby Yarm Northallerton Thirsk York Leeds Dewsbury And Huddersfield. Mostly used trains and we will see a new operator TP Express and a new Train the Class 185. (Class 185 at Redcar Central platform 2) LAYERS The class 801 seen at Northallerton, York And Leeds. And the class 66.
I highly doubt DTG would want to duplicate a significant portion of the existing NTP and TVL routes, even if in a different era.
Looks like you are trying to modernize TVL Redcar Darlington and NTP Huddersfield Leeds City section with the missing link being ECML Leeds City York Darlington. If I were you you might as well do this in the 1980s
I feel like the section you chose makes very little sense why not Saltburn to York or something or York-Leeds
If TVL was going to get any sort of extension then the line(s) to Boulby, Whitby and/or Bishop Auckland would make more sense. NTP either push through to Liverpool or extend towards York and/or Scarborough. But none of the above seems any likelier than the OP proposal.
Perhaps in a modern setting, but considering both Redcar and Huddersfield are already represented in the game during the BR Blue era, I guess that era offers more opportunities for layering and subtitution.
