By early spring 1979, the Amnes Trestle was well past its glory days carrying trains across Lizard Head Pass. Today it will have to be content with the 3 hikers taking a hike who have wisely left their truck at the foot of the rather unstable bridge. Sadly, this bridge would collapse before the year was over, and with it the rest of the remaining trestles would be dismantled with the exception of 51-A at Trout Lake, which still stands to this day. I think DTG Jamie isn't around. His profile hasn't been active since Wednesday. If it's any consolation I haven't got my DLC prize from last week either.
One of the main reasons why I have stopped posting, plus if you do win you hardly get to see your shot as the bombardment of advertising screenshots lately is relentless.

It's a great shot, pleasure to look at, but excuse moi for asking, isn't that sky produced by an enhancement add-on which isn't allowed?
It does matter if the winning shot has broken the rules and it should matter to DTG, as they will now be promoting something that isn't the product a customer can buy from them. Without doubt it's featuring the AP Sky & Weather Enhancement pack, which isn't available on Steam.
If AP packs are gonna keep getting let thru like this and no one is calling them out before the contests end, then I don't see any point competing against it.

It was an accident. Sky and RWE are hard to spot to the naked eye when scrolling through a set of images. It's an easy thing to miss when people are entering ineligible shots.... The rules are quite clear and people who have these enhancements should maybe focus on the unofficial contest set up for this very reason, as a friendly place to post shots that owing to using non steam 3rd party content aren't eligible for the official contests. If people abided by the rules these issues would not arise.
I can get behind it was an honest mistake by David, not reading the rules, maybe just seen it on Facebook. 1st post, after all. Sometimes we call each other out (helpfully), guess nobody wanted to be that guy this time. I also accept Jamie didn't realize, although I'd expect him to be familiar with the official offerings. There is stylistic difference. I agree it would be fair to announce the runner-up, at the very least. For some reason the picture is missing from Facebook from the get go. I wouldn't oppose allowing Skies and RWE, sure it would make it more difficult to vanilla posters but enable more people to show up (again). As long as it doesn't invalidate vanilla shots - in the unofficial it didn't (much). Heck, Facebook viewers might actually appreciate the game / graphics. (Just added this as I removed my post from the other thread.)
Can I use that excuse anywhere? Please sir I didn't know I was cheating, speeding, stealing etc because I didn't read the rules. Don't think so. If you enter any competition the first thing is read the rules not the last - I couldn't care less about enhancements or not etc but rules are there a) to be read, b) to be followed and C) TO BE ENFORCED. The "winning" entry should be taken down immediately as non-compliant and if it doesn't comply how can it be the winner.
Like many of us I have also taken the decision to not compete any more in this thread. It has become a lottery as to when a decision is made on the winning shot. If you are lucky enough to be chosen as the winner there is no guarantee when your shot will be uploaded. If your shot is uploaded it will only be visible for a matter of hours before the latest "COMING SOON" advert takes over as the priority loading shot. (admittedly "Fastload" doesn't help) Now it appears the use of AP weather packs can easily bypass the DTG scrutineers and proudly be announced as the winning shot? I speak as someone who gratefully sat top of the pile and received the honour of winning 11 times last year. I used to spend hour upon hour creating, tweaking my shots to try and capture that gold medal. Today I don't see the point, I'd rather spend my time being constructive elsewhere. I really feel it is so sad that this competition has been let to fall so low in the DTG priority list.
Aren't you girls ând guys taking this a but too serious? Is ofcourse a great honour when your shot is picked, but that is about it. You guys respond like you are giving a kidney to a patient !?!
You’re entitled to your opinion as are others. If there are preset rules (and in this there are) they should be followed or there is no point. I don’t enter this competition, I have better things to do but if rules are willy nilly ignored then don’t have the competition.

Yes I take the competition seriously, I used to spend many hours creating my shots with the goal of seeing them displayed on the loading screen. What is the problem with that? If you enter any competition, large or small, you strive to become the best. Is that not the definition of the word "Competition"? The fact that lately the thread has become a lottery, instead of a well organized competition has made me, and many other regular contributors, stop contributing until a stable / reliable platform is reintroduced. Just because you do not see the point, and also do not contribute, apparently gives you the right to criticise those of us that have supported this thread for years. I suggest you either start contributing to the thread yourself, or offer me a good price for my Kidney. I could do with the cash to buy more DLC
I can confirm this was a genuine mistake. I didn't even realize what happened until just now. Heck, I forgot I even entered the competition haha. I'm sorry for all the chaos this has caused, it will not happen again.
