    The Dovetail Games Store website has been down for "extended maintenance" for over a year now I believe. I'm wondering if it is ever coming back. Most people probably wonder why I even care in the first place because you can get everything that's on there on the Steam store anyways. Well I mainly care because their website had a special weekly sale page where a few items would be on sale on their website each week but not on the Steam Store. I bought from those small weekly sales every time they were on because you could get some great deals on there! I hope it comes back one day, because if they bring that page back with the same great 50-80% off deals each week I'll certainly be buying. :)

    Would be good just to get some closure from the DTG Staff if it is coming back or not instead of constantly wondering due to no word from DTG about the store for over a year now.

    I’ve given up hope. Though I really do hope it comes back.

    It was great for me, I could buy things in UK Pounds and just pay a standard currency conversion instead of having to pay the over inflated Steam Price which makes things 30% more expensive where I live.

    Things were very close to same price on Steam and I had no taxes until our government forced Steam to do that in 2021. Now things are a lot more expensive. That said, currency conversion through either the bank or Paypal is not pleasant, so add extra cost to any converted price. Is it worth it? See the Dunblane route releasing soon as a good conversion check to see what makes sense for you. https://steamdb.info/app/2403286/

    For me, US Dollars comes in at $49.07 (CAD is $46.79 BTW), so based on that alone, it is a way better deal in CAD. Which is funny since one Canadian Dollar only gets 73 cents American right now. So Americans are getting fleeced on this one. It would be beneficial for them to buy through a direct store instead. (The GBP price converts to $46.02, so we're also slightly worse off, though currency conversion or "Paypal Tax" is much worse.)

    So Canada is the seventh most expensive purchase. Which isn't really fair since we are way behind the USD right now. But maybe some folks will understand why I say things cost too much; what's cheap for you converts very badly for me. :o By the way, the Swiss get screwed on Steam. Badly.

    Yes that is where I live.

    For some games in the past I could get a friend in the UK to buy them and gift them to me and I can send them the money. But I haven’t tried that recently and don’t know if it’ll work with DLC anyway. It made things 20% to 30% cheaper.

    TSW4 = 55.50 CHF = £49.80 on todays exchange rate.
    TSW4 = £39.99 in the UK.

    Currency conversion costs me 1.5% which still makes it a lot cheaper in the uk.

    What makes it worse is that Swiss Tax is 8% and UK is 20% so if you take the pre tax prices the difference is bigger and you really see how much Steam is ripping us off. The joke is that some years ago, Steam used to charge USD in Switzerland and they emailed me to say ‘Great News - you now pay in your local currency’. They gave examples in the email and all of them were at least 20% higher!

    Anyway back on topic. I know from experience that the DTG store used to work out cheaper as that’s how I used to buy things. It would be nice to have it back. Until then I wait for sales.

    There are currently no plans for launching a new store, we'll update if that changes.
