The XBOX version of this route on sale for short while this week.So is it worth $21.99 or is it still to broken to even be worth this price?
I haven’t played much of the NJ content (mostly cause I prefer express) but I would says it’s a good if not better place to operate the Acela tbh (gets quite repetitive more on Boston I find.) the route technically/practically comes with 3 new trains aswell, I would say’s it’s worth it if you like what it offers. Upcoming timetable is just a great bonus aswell. Scenery between NY Penn and Newark Airport should have been updated but apart from that it’s quite a nice journey I find. the only thing I would say to avoid the route is if you find the slightest thing game breaking to be fair.m (based on series x gameplay)
I just spent a very frustrating afternoon trying to find the collectables in Sunnyside Yard (in order to get the achievement). Even using the guide, I had problems, given rails you can’t cross, trying to find how to get on the track that goes overhead, getting into a tunnel etc. Much swearing at DTG was had. Got there in the end though.
I would say it is worth it. It has flaws (there is a huge megathread all about it) but overall I think it would be a good pickup for that price, especially considering a whole new Joe timetable will be dropping very shortly.
I know, the 3 was NJ loco & Cab car & Amtrak Cab car I used technically and practically as cab cars are cab cars and not trains but development wise they are, then theirs the technically side that Amtrak cab car is new to TSW3 but not TSW.
Its worth for sure now we know the timetable update will come. I got this on heavy sale because DTG thought its a good strategy to cut on the timetable side. No money from my side for such short sighted decisions...
I would not buy it until the new timetable actually drops and it is proven to be working. Wait for the update to release and see how it runs afterwards. I plan on buying it as well, but only after the timetsble update is released and proven to be working.
I disagree, getting it on sale now would be a great steal when the new timetable drops, and personally I think the route as is is worth $21.99, so it’s a good deal. But I do see the concern that the new timetable could break it and render it unplayable.
Yeah the current signalling is already funky (as with all US routes), I suspect there will be some issues with the new TT.
It could be a steal with the new timetable coming. But the safety systems were wonky before and I’m not sure the added traffic is going to help that. Honestly, I would just wait; this won’t be the last sale for this route and the holiday sales aren’t that far off.
And what if the new timetable is broken as hell? Then you have just bought something entirely unusable. Do not buy until you actually see what you get.
it will probably be on a sale just as good in winter or later on this year so there is no need to worry
Perhaps you'll want to give NJTs 39XX numbered services a try. They're peak only and are known as Super-Express services which have a very limited stopping pattern.
thanks, I’ll write a note for that number and will definitely give a look into them the next time on the route.
If you've bought TSW4 and are on a Series console, probably. If you only have TSW3 I'd wait and see if they actually deliver on the promised updates for it. If you're on XBox One, maybe see what they do deliver timetable-wise on last gen systems
Purchased it for myself and enjoyed it but for some Services you can't accelerate click like the 3:25 pm New Brunswick to NYC despite rebooting the ALP-46 original versions 4600-4628 future 4629-4664 ALP-46A.
