Loco : BR Class 370 Intercity APT-P Route : WCML Over Shap There can only be one Tilted Train that was one of British Rails most Controversial Trains but paved the way for Future Tilted Mechanism Trains
So why has that winner not been excluded and the screenshot replaced with the genuine "followed the rules" shot that would have been your second choice?
Decided to be a little cheeky this week. In the spirit of the unofficial competition. Take the theme, however strenuously... While I do have the ICE-T, and played it, I thought I will post other kinds of tilting trains from a free roam I created for Colton & Northern. First, here is a shot of a high hood NS SD40-2 moving some loaded coal. Take note of the first wagon. And the third, fourth, fifth...
In the second shot, we take a look at waste wagons from... I think Miami to West Palm Beach. (Route is still Colton & Northern.) Take note of the tilt between the closest car (587385) and the one next to it. Also, well beyond, you can spot further nausea. I hope you enjoyed this bit of fun
A fast class 390 rounds the long bend north of Rugby, on its way to Birmingham New Street. Route: WCML South Train: Class 390
Hopefully this still counts as a tilting train, even if it isn't a high-speed one. A Class 66 rounds the bend at Bridgend station. Route: South Wales Main Line (South Wales Coastal) Train: EWS Class 66
There are two things that make a tilting train: the active working of its suspension, or super elevation of the track. Both provide a centripetal force to counteract the effect of a curve taken at speed. Here I present a tilting train using the second method. ÖBB 1042 on the Ennstalbahn: Bishofshofen - Selzthal Route.
I've never entered these contests since I prefer to play the game with enhancements, but it might be fun.. (reinstalled route + removed shaders) A Class 221 on a service from Holyhead to Crewe. Class 221 Super Voyager North Wales Coast Line: Crewe - Holyhead Route
