Remembered! My focus when on this section in real life is not what the next signal is or where I need to stop but every little thing which could be a quirky addition to my scenario (I do need to just cover my back here and say I am joking and my attention is always on what's ahead, or the only place I'll drive a train again is TSW!) and I am making plans in my head for two scenarios. My little clue is there will be two the first will be the classic competition one and the second will be me going round again and just enjoying myself. I think the first may peak dartmart's interest and the second will still blue you away, just don't make any azumptions about the era.

Good to know everyone has remembered.:) I’ve just got to sit here patiently and wait now, whilst trying to make sense of all the clues you and TrainGeek08 are teasing me with. One things for sure though, they will both be belters !

    Scotch Peak
A couple of weeks ago when I initially was thinking of ideas for a new scenario I looked at what I had done already and realised that I hadn't done a Scottish scenario yet and so I set my eyes on EDG and got building. I was initially going to do a Duff scenario but realised TG had already done that on this route so then I moved on to whistler but someone else had done that so I set my eyes on the Peak which, from what I could see with the shoddy search feature, hadn't been done on this route. So here it is the Scotch Peak railtour from Edinburgh to Glasgow stopping at Falkirk high on the way. It shouldn't be a complicated run but is a good chance to get a great view of the route with the best sounding diesel loco built is hammering away at 90mph behind you for the 45 minutes this scenario takes.
    There are NO custom liveries.
    The required DLC is:
    • Scottish Express (Edinburgh to Glasgow)
    • Northern Trans-Pennine
    • South Eastern High Speed
Can we also just admire that I have released a scenario on the correct planned day too! :D

    Here is the CC link.

    And here are my screenshots:

More images coming soon but I am taking the mrs out for meal so don't have the time to do it right now! Added the extra images!:)

So enjoy the scenario as usual and I do of course hope any feedback will be sent my way.

This looks and sounds fab buddy.
Enjoy your meal and treat Mrs Matt nicely…..you may get shortened “to do” lists for a couple of days. ;)

Thanks and it was lovely thanks, until I had to pay, though that's what I get for going to Stamford really! I can only hope so though unlikely as there is always something not quite right!:)

If I have got his clue right it will certainly be a good run, rolling stock dependant but any BR diesel will be great the way he describes it. How much are you willing to bet! :D;)

Glad you both enjoyed the meal. :)

Due to my inexperience and knowledge of the railways I’m intrigued by TrainGeek08 hint, but have no idea whatsoever what it could be :( but like you say, I’m sure it will be great. Luckily for you this return match scenario is very much on “home turf” for you, so I’m expecting a really close battle ;)

By the way, just finished GWR return. Very good indeed, the two extra stops added to the enjoyment. And once again you didn’t disappoint in the AI department, and I got to overtake another 166 :)
I’ve subscribed to Scotch Peak but that will have to be tomorrow now, as apparently the back lawn is a few mm over the height that Mrs 1dart likes :(

Hoping to watch the feed tonight, interested to know about the scenario planner, even if I can’t create things myself lol :)

I won't spoil his clue then! Yes absolutely no pressure for me here at all. I do have a plan but it depends on the scenario planner paths as to how it will actually turn out!

Thank you muchly mate very glad you enjoyed it. GWE does become a whole lot more interesting with the stops and overtakes which I can't seem to be able to do on timetable runs.
A few millimetres too long, what will the neighbours think! ;) At least she doesn't work in nanometres! :D

I thought I'd lost it for a few minutes there!;) I were getting ready to have a go at myself as I would have missed most of it as I am currently on my way home and obviously once I am off the train, in the car and away from internet I can't have the stream on. I won't bother about it now and will have tea and get some work done on a scenario when I get home instead. :)

It's not stupidity, it's just the effect being on these forums too long gives you! :D

Lol I know, it can get very addictive sometimes ;)
Anyways, completed Scotch Peak yesterday. Really nice change to be driving old blue diesel and passing modern traffic (385’s). Nice route which I rarely use as I don’t like the view from the 385:( so it was nice to blast along there for a change. I also got to hit the 100 mark just before having to brake quite sharpish for Falkirk lol. Loving the scenarios mate, I don’t know where you find the time, but I’m very glad you do. :)
Have a nice weekend buddy

Could be compared to, um, sugar... :D
Thanks it was certainly just a thrash and go sort of idea, so glad it was enjoyable to do so. The 385 view, mixed with it's niggles, really make a train I would like to enjoy unenjoyable because there are just too many things wrong with it whether that be Scotrail, Hitachi or Rivet's fault, it all adds up sadly. I'm loving making them so a big bonus people love playing them, including your kind self! ;)
Have a good one too mate, I think the weather is meant to be alright so that's a good start! :)

I’m hoping weather is ok as I have a few jobs to do outside tomorrow. After that the day is my own as Mrs 1dart is off shopping with her friend. I can already hear TSW calling to me lol :)

Lucky thing, I think mine may have read what you said as she had me cutting the lawn today! :D I am working every day until next Friday now (though finish early enough to be playing TSW from 1600 on Thursday) so it will only be small jobs for me now. You want to just be cautious and keep an eye on the bank when she's shopping! ;);)
Perfect opportunity to play some TSW with the volume up though!

Lol they must have there own forum where they discuss jobs to be done buddy ;)
I don’t envy your shift patterns, I’m struggling every morning to get up and walk the dog these days since I retired;)
Mind you, if I had your job…….I’d get a dog walker in lol :)

You could almost put money on that and actually I wouldn't be half surprised if mine at least has an account and just keeps an eye on what I say! :D
    The struggles of retirement! ;);)
It can be bloomin' difficult getting up but I am lucky in the fact that I grew up on the farm so I have been wired to be ready to spring out of bed as early as possible and get into it as late as possible and be fine and I love the job too, which helps. I must admit I feel it much more with age though! ;)
I did consider a dog walker but I see it as the last bit of the day like a cool down just to take the dog over to a farm bridge over the railway just to see what's going on. Also unless it is a car, TSW thing, model railway thing or football tickets I am still tight as anything so certainly wasn't paying the price they were going to charge! :D:D

What I will say is I am dreading retirement! Funnily enough when I was young I didn't want to be a train driver and really the worst of luck is what has got me here: the mind boggles at the way the world works. Thanks though mate I do hope retirement is good to you.

Also I am very sorry for such a delayed response but I may, or may not have just fallen asleep for an hour or so! I am already in training for retirement though! ;)

Thanks buddy, I’m starting to settle into it. I was offered early retirement and financially I would have been very little better off if I had stayed on. I’m happy enough, but the down side is all my friends are still working lol so I’m at the beck and call of Mrs 1dart most days:(. The positive side is I found a hobby I really enjoy, Train Sim World :)
Now, if I’d been a train driver they’d have had to get the police to remove me, I’d never have retired lol
Sorry to hear about how you got into the job, life really does throw some curved balls from time to time. :(
Keep driving for as long as you can buddy, retirement is not all it’s cracked up to be.;)

What was it you did mate, anything interesting? Really your only semi retired then as I am sure mrs 1dart mart has you working near enough the same hours as before! ;)
Yes I am not sure I'll be able to go without being forced out- it won't be a choice! Certainly not where I expected to be now that's for sure. I had planned to be long retired by now but there we go, glad I'm not from what you said about it! :D

Nothing exciting really buddy, joined the army straight from school then as a civi I became a Judges clerk working in the courts. I used to play a lot of football so civil service suited me as it’s every weekend off :)
I hadn’t planned to retire early but as I said earlier, it was more beneficial financially to me. I do occasionally think about getting a little part time job as I’m only 58 but then who would do all the jobs Mrs 1dart want doing and it would restrict my time on TSW lol ;)
It’s been nice in the summer to get out and about with my faithful Labrador and when winter comes I’m looking forward to not having to get out of bed until I feel ready to get up. ( subject to Mrs 1darts approval ).
If you’re enjoying your job, keep at it for as long as you can buddy. One thing is definitely true, no matter how good your pension is, it’s never enough lol :|

The mrs' brothers or something went in the army from after school too, and I can imagine them being in the courts though not because of working there! Football. Football was my life and the end of it was the start of a hectic two years, literally a week away from signing a decent deal with a big club (who I am still not allowed to mention) and I mucked it up. Like I say no regrets but definitely face in hand! :)
Fair enough there is no point working doing something you may not enjoy when you could be mostly free as long as you get the list done, especially if it doesn't boost the finances!:D TSW is the priority after the list then worry about a part time job, just say to the mrs you need to play it to get good value for money!;)
I love labs but these days my little Jack- Chi is more my sort of dog, still very energetic but easier to pick up the waste! I must say I do envy you just being able to lay in bed in the cold because even when I am not working I still feel I need to get up so that is a big pro to retirement. I have considered moving companies but I do just feel so happy with where I am. I can't see myself wanting to leave anytime soon. The mrs really isn't going like you saying that as she has been trying to convince me to retire for the past couple of years!;)

Anyway to bring up an old topic I have just had a slice of homemade Victoria Sponge given to me so can't complain too much!;):D

Wow, I only played at amateur level, with a bit of “boot money” every Saturday. That must have hurt losing out on that contract. Gutted for you buddy, but hey, train driver…….not a bad thing to fall back on. :)
Are you a one team fan? I grew up in Wales but have followed Forest all my life, really loving life in the Prem after so long away. :)
Mmh, cake, now you’ve got me hungry…….trip to the kitchen for me I think :o

Yes wasn't great but after your retirement stories it certainly makes me feel much better and as you say I have ended up in the best job in the world anyway! ;)
I have been a Forest fan since the day I was born and supported only them since and have had a season ticket for since 2010 to last year though have watched them against Sheffield this year which were nice. I even had it in that contract that I would never play against Forest so definitely committed. Being in the Prem again is great as like you I am old enough to properly remember and to have watched them in the glory days of Clough. Very happy with Steve Cooper and (before he left) Brennan too so have to thank Wales a lot there! I think we have a good team this season and hopefully get mid table. I could talk about football all day but I don't want to stop you getting your cake! :)

OMG what a coincidence- I’d settle for mid table right here and now. Definitely a better squad this year, despite losing Brennan (who I’ve seen play live for wales and he is lightening quick). Every confidence in Stevie, he’s the right man for the job.
Right, kettle boiled, tea made and one large slice of cherry and raisin fruit cake to be eaten. Speak soon buddy :)

I thought the same thing! I think we looked very strong against Chelsea and it was very nice to get a clean sheet there and I mean Elanga and Awoniyi are going to be the dream team going forward hopefully. Stevie has really worked some miracles, when he was the England under whatever it was coach I said to one of my old mates that he would be perfect for us and I was laughed at but he is certainly a very clever, correct man for us. I'll leave you to your cake, speak soon mate. :)

I have, it's on the Sky Sports isn't it, a very good investment were that! I finish early enough to have got in and had a cuppa before it starts so I'll get the pre match ramble too. :)

Yes, not a good performance were that. I am hoping that they want this game more and are just not worrying about cups to focus on doing decent in the league, which I can't blame them for. This time tomorrow we'll almost know.

Yes, couple of injuries as well though - Danilo, Auraia, and Elanga apparantly :( Hopefully, not long term problems, but we’ve got a pretty decent squad now. As I always say, trust in Stevie :)

We certainly aren't short of players to fill in so hopefully that depth in the squad will keep us going. Like I said above he's a very, very clever man is Stevie so we are in very safe hands.

    PFR: Rowsley Chopper
This scenario involves you driving from Ambergate Sidings to Rowsley Sidings in a pair of BR Class 20s (Choppers). I have included plenty of AI as usual on the PFR scenarios so there hopefully won't be a dull moment. Once at Rowsley the train will be left there and you can go off and have a break. It is a shorter scenario but hopefully it will be short and sweet and live up to the same standard as my other scenarios.

NOTE: When you begin the game will spawn you into the correct cab but the wrong seat, but before changing seats make sure you put in the master key to the main desk you are spawned at.

It took me about 25 minutes to complete.

There are no custom liveries needed

    The required DLC is:
    • Peak Forest Railway
    • Northern Trans-Pennine
    • Tees Valley Line
    • BR Heavy Freight Pack
    • BR Class 31
    • BR Class 20

Looking forward to this. I’ve been using the choppers in the shunting yard on TVL I really like them. Will download in morning, waiting for the mighty Forest game to start. :)

I chose the right loco then! I hope you enjoy it.

That game were tense, to say the least, but a point is a point. :)

Lovely little run today. Great start for me as I pulled off I got a reward for driving 200 miles in the class 20 :)
Nice job, short but sweet as they say lol
Game was a bit disappointing after the opening 20 mins, where I thought we looked really strong. As you say, a point is a point I suppose. Hudson odoi my new favourite player I think, what a goal.
Just watched last nights stream, and they asked my question about the search function being updated- unfortunately Matt didn’t know the answer, so…… guess I’ll have to wait until 21st and try it for myself :)

Yes short but sweet really sums it up! We were looking strong throughout but we just seem to have a slightly too leaky defence when it matters. That goal was a real beauty and he is going to be a really good asset for us going forward.
I am just going to watch the stream now. That probably means no, which is a shame really.

Due to TSW4s release there will not be a scenario on Sunday, however to make up for that I am going to not only release a livery tomorrow or Sunday but also going to try and get a scenario out, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Ambitious but well I have got have something to aim for! :)

Hull Trains 802 (2019 Condition Plain Blue)
Good evening I got my livery for the 801 finished and it is the Hull trains plain blue scheme which is what this unit (802 301) wore in late 2019 so it may look bare but it is an actual livery. I do plan to make the current livery but that will be much more work and this one will feature in two of my upcoming scenarios so I thought I'd get it out now. Not much more I can say apart from you need ECML (and so TSW).

    Here is the CC link.

I hope you enjoy using the livery, any feedback you know what to do!

Quick context: This post will not flow very well now as I typed it out Saturday but I think the internet were dodgy so it didn't actually post but...

Although it was a lost I do think we looked rather strong against city today and if we'd been like that against Burnley we wouldn't have had any trouble. Hopefully we'll find a bit of consistency now the transfers are all shut, and so the new players have had time to settle.

    LNER HST ECML Farewell Tour
Hello it has been a week or so but I am back with another scenario and this time for a completely different route: the ECML. This scenario is a recreation of the 'West Riding Limited' farewell tour on the 21st of December which was the last day of LNER HSTs on the ECML. The service is from Doncaster to Peterborough stopping at Retford, Newark NG and Grantham on the way. In real life the tour sat for a while at these stations so whether you do that is your choice! For the time being you will not get a passenger loading instruction as it seems to break the flow of objectives so just open the doors and wait as long as you desire to.
It will take about 60 minutes to complete.

    The required DLC is
    • ECML Peterborough to Doncaster
    • Great Western Express
    • Midland Mainline
    • BR Class 700
    The Liveries used are:

As always enjoy the scenario and feedback any feedback to me good or bad!

Due to the issues on Xbox with DLC I haven't got the scenarios ready so the planned scenarios won't be out. I would do it on PC but it would be time for me to get some kip by the time it turns on and loads any dlc!
