model of the Vectron is great as always, but we didn't really get a full outside acceleration sound preview, but whatever.
    DRA in TOD4 looks glorious.
I can't wait to push the Vectron to its limits in a speed test on the Training Center!

Well, in the stream my remark about the headlights malfunctioning was ignored. But when he turned on the headlights to high beams only the upper light was working and the lower left and right ones were off.
Shouldn't really be much of a deal to fix, but we'll see huh

Also, proudly announcing that you have fixed the gaps in the OHLE and subsequently encountering multiple such gaps in the first ten kilometers is not giving me much hope...

Vectron sounds are good and crisp.

Although I did notice there were still places where the OHL was missing and it's even more noticeable now the wires are thicker. Please look into that.

This might have something to do with the quality of the livestream, but the updated overhead wires really stick out compared to the masts holding them up. It almost appears like they are floating:

They had an external acceleration in the vorarlberg stream. Not the complete cycle but good enough to know what it sounds like

I agree that the new "catenary thickening" feature should be applicable to the wires holding up the catenary themselves.

I hope that this is some kind of build that does not have the missing OHL replaced. It'll be a real flop if they release the route with false promises of fixed catenary.

I noticed that the PIS of the DB BR 146.2 still doesn't work properly when the Player is driving it

Luckily there is a way around, but it would still be nice if it wasn't necessary

That's the worst thing about TSW4 for me, it just looks terrible.

I worried when they said they were making the overhead wires thicker, i thought they didn't really need to worry about that as they were fine, and making them look thicker would probably make them look a bit daft.

I don’t like the new thicker OHLE wires. When two of them are side by side or overlapping in the near distance it makes them look too thick and a bit cartoonish, and my eye was drawn to them constantly making them a bit of a distraction. Obviously I haven’t yet seen what they look like on a much bigger screen on my PS5 but they did stick out like a sore thumb while watching the stream on my iPad, so I’m expecting them to be more distracting then, but we shall see. I’m thinking it wasn’t an issue that needed addressing in the first place. The original wires may have disappeared into nothing not too far off but that’s how they would look against a bright sky anyway.

The OHL is just terrible. It looks incredibly unrealistic and is simply a downgrade from previous iterations. If it won’t be further improved, it should be reverted to the previous version.

The Vectron seems to be in really good shape though.

I am glad to see this route got an upgrade. The Vectron looks really awesome. Maybe I misheard but it sounded like there are a lot of plans for the Vectron like a route with passenger services?

On a big screen the wires don't look wrong. The image shown before in this topic is not what I see on a big screen. It looks like that image has less detail so the wires look more cartoonish

I was a little unimpressed with the changes. Yes, Vectron looks fantastic, the new fog is an improvement for lightning but the rest of the offer for Dresden Riesa is unimpressive. The new daylight, for my personal taste, is much too bright, it lacks character, on the run from Meißen I've seen some weired artefacts, probably sun light, on the tracks, right on the edge of the window.
Then the pressing fixes, though Matt said he had fixed them, the gaps and the stopping-point problem on the Meißen branch were not fix. And we know the prayer: Do not expect a fix, if it is not shown in the livestream.
So, this is the second livestream of a German/Austrian route I was interested in, giving TSW4 at least a chance. But everything I saw was in good old DTG fashion bland with a unfinnished look and feel. So, sorry, it is still a pass for me.

Maybe it's time for some HDR support. I don't mind the new daylight. I guess it's pure down to taste. The problem is that there are no sliders to adjust to taste.

It is totally up to taste and perception when it comes to light. So in this case, I don't like it. That is all. I think, a lot of players don't mind it.

Really impressed with the Vectron, based on the short section of the clip I watched. At last (with respects to the 155) a freight loco that sounds pleasant and not something being strangled as the Traxx do. Getting quite hard to know what to do first on Thursday, once it’s all installed of course!

The LZB is still broken on the 146.2, it still doesn't get displayed, like on the 185.2 from Kassel-Würzbrug. And with AFB the 146.2 doesn't reach 160 km/h or a speed cloth to 160 km/h, it is only limited to 155-156 km/h

Why didn't DTG use the 146 and Dosto from Kassel-Würzbrug? It has a perfectly working PIS and also has updated PIS in the Dostos cap, including train Information

Well, OldVern, we have not seen the ECML yet, so I am undecided on what route I will do first. Right now I am leaning toward the Antelope line.

That's prototypical. Earlier German locos in TSW that run right up to the limit are in fact in error; RL AFB provides a buffer.

I noticed it already in the Voralberg Preview Stream, it doesn't look like a new system, it just looks like the LOD model was made "thicker".

Same here, Dresden upgrade really shows how badly broken TOD4 / the whole lightning is. Dresden especially had this better night lightning when released. So it seems despite the Vectron it is better to stay with this route in TSW3. It is also a shame that small issues have not been adressed.

Ok then (yes I have to write this down) I've cancelled my TSW4 pre-order for now. Voralberg left me unimpressed, Dresden update is not impressive...so yeah. Nothing currently tells me I should spent the money on it.

I was really amazed by the Vectron, well modeled and the sounds seem to be prototypical. About the route there’s one thing I don’t really like is like others said, the OHLE, it’s too thick it’s like we’re running a train under a DC catenary with two wires at the bottom. I noticed on the stream many missing parts of catenary but also what a shame this route was updated but unlike SEHS you didn’t upgraded the OHLE system by adding counterweights (I’m not talking about the Meißen branch).

I preordered the Deluxe version, hence the quandary. It will probably be ECML and the Azuma (though I hate travelling on 8xx's IRL, driving one seems fun), then the Vectron maybe on Vorarlberg if you can do the full length of the route in one. Next up the Antelope Valley and finally Flying Scotsman.

Vectron in Austria will certainly be something I’m looking forward too. Although as a Brit I’m just going to have to do an Azuma run or 2 first.

It’s a shame we need to wait for the rest of our DLC to follow 5 days later, would have liked to get the IC consist on the Vectron running in free roam.

On the other hand we would be waiting forever for the content to download before playing, at least with just the new stuff it shouldn't be too long to install then on 26th the rest will hopefully come down in the background.

Yup, as PS player I’ve never had my DLC from day 1 anyway so I know no different.

That said TSW 4 installs a couple days early for me on PS, so I’d have the time to DL it all, but I guess it’s a Marketplace issue to have all the entitlements setup for EA.

Ah yes I was referring to Steam. A great shame DTG haven't set up with them for a preload so it can download Tuesday or Wednesday then at 1800 (BST) on Thursday gets the unlock nod and I'm driving the Azuma at 1802!

Well, one nice thing about being in the US, we get it earlier, but not as early as the people on the west coast of the US where Steam is located. Though it's all relative since Steam drops it at the same time.

That's good to know! But it's really sad, that they didn't update the 146.2 like the 185 with displayed LZB

I’m glad they will have fixed the ‘reversing freight train ‘ problem. I decided to do a quick freight run on DRA this evening. Guess which service I accidentally picked…? It always sucks when you cannot finish a service after spending a lot of time at it.

I did the same thing yesterday quite by accident. Once I had noticed that the next instruction was miles behind me I had gone too far and my train was declared off path when I tried to reverse back up the track. It would have been a bit of fun if it had worked but it was never fun seeing it as an AI train.

PiS has long been broken on the 146, but I suspect this particular issue is to do with the TOD4 ‘upgrade’.

That definitely has something to do with the terrible implementation of TOD4, which seems to be always providing little snippets and hints of how terrible and unfinished it really is all the time!

DTG Matt are there any fixes and updates to the 146.2? So does it include the same features like the 146 and dostos on Kassel-Würzbrug with inside working PIS and Station display and does LZB get displayed on the monitors like on the 185 from Kassel-Würzbrug, because in TSW 3 it didn't show any information, just speed and PZB, even though I was connected to LZB

There is still missing OLE on the route, towards the end around Riesa there was a missing wire section, and DTG should have given the wires counterweights and feeders and return wires like they did with Kassel - Wurzburg. Hopefully the ECML OLE looks better

Just went back and ran the current version of the route. Its been a while since I played it and had a good time. Since I don't run German routes often wanted to make sure still could react to PZB and did just fine.

Watched a bit more of the stream on the exercise bike and, pending the Azuma/ECML stream, the Vectron is probably my most eagerly awaited arrival of the new kit.

Got to ask DTG Matt , though, why do you insist on playing with the coloured track marker "stop" position switched on? This is about the most arcade aspect of the game and it's annoyingly irritating that it gets switched back on every time you do a training mission. Certainly ironic in part of a stream where the talk was about making the experience more realistic and not chasing the metres to see this loom into view several times.

Oh and the Meissen line stop markers, having to come to a halt beyond them to trigger station duties, has been an issue since the route released.

Volumetric fog looks nice but verdict out on the night lighting until I see it myself. DRA certainly seems to have lost some of that lovely glow that made it stand out from other routes. And we still have routes like BCC and the Manchester routes where it's so dark at night you could be driving across Mongolia.
