[poll] Which Tsw4 Edition Will You Be Purchasing?

Deluxe for me, but no hurry as I’ll be on holiday when it comes out. So I’ll skip the preorder discount and wait for initial reports.

Really looking forward to the Vectron and Free Roam feature.

 

I'm still deluxe as I love the azuma and really wanted pre-order early acsess. Pus it would be cool to see and drive the (legendary) Flying Scotsman. Very much looking forward to TSW4 this Thursday. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I'm just hoping they don't screw up the sounds for the azuma.

 

Well hopefully we will find out more in the ECML stream which seems rather low key at present, no Q&A thread as yet.

None for me at the moment.

Generally only play UK routes and I really can’t stand middle of the route runs, as much as I like the Azuma.

There’s still too many unfixed routes in TSW3 that now won’t receive updates and nothing to suggest that this format is going to change anytime soon.

Will review if there’s a route I want, post reviews and feedback.

It's all down to the routes. TSW2+3 came with exciting routes, 2020 Deluxe was incredible!
This by comparison is very meh. Clearly alot of good work has been done but it's not getting the juices flowing.
Not buying now, probably later in a sale.

 

All DTG have managed to convince me of since the announcement of TSW4 is that there's nothing in it for me. Which is fine. It's not for me. I'm cool with that. More money to spend elsewhere.

 

Deluxe for me, Tomorrow night, hopefully after the ECML Stream.

I have the routes with special edition already, and I’m quite intrigued by all 3 new routes (and they are practically the price of one even if I was only into one)

also interested In The Vectron and Scotsman and probably would have been so afterwards, so may as-well get them now in a deal.

 

For me, the section of the ECML they picked doesn't really excite me at all. Love to see the 800s in the game though. My stomping grounds are the York-Edinburgh stretch of the ECML, so I'll hold out for something representative of that showing up one day. Antelope Valley has me somewhat interested, as does Blackpool-Ormskirk, but one of those is a way off still, and both are something I can wait and see how they turn out and pick up at a discount down the line if I want them, certainly not enough to justify the price right now.

 

So i've changed vote to Deluxe and buy this for Vectron and Scostman, cannot wait another month to buy separately on standard

 

I'm sticking with the deluxe option, even though the ECML route sounds less and less interesting. As has been mentioned, an earlier BR era with diesel traction and a more scenic section of the line would have piqued my interest more. I think they chose the easiest option, 4 stations and an electric go-kart. I'll mostly drive the dmu if I drive the route at all. The Austrian and US routes are worth the price of admission, though and the DRA and NYT enhancements are a bonus.

All said, $53 gets you a lot. Great pricing DTG. I'm happy!

 

Waiting for the JT route and will purchase the cheapest or smallest download option just to get past the pay wall then probs not touch the DTG route. If the JT route is as good as the PR stuff shows doubt anything else will get a look in.

 

This last paragraph reminded me of that Yorkshire tea advert that were on the tele, so to go off on a bigger tangent (apologies in advance):

 

Ah yes, nothing like a cup of Yorkshire. If only Americans had learned how to make tea. But blame Lord North and George III for that.

 

I think we had a tea discussion a little while ago and the consensus was pretty much that Yorkshire cannot be beaten.

I still hold to the theory that every time Sharpe survives a life threatening situation, another Sean Bean in a different universe dies to maintain the cosmic balance.

 

I must agree, and admit it were me who started that conversation, also Yorkshire tea was the favourite overall.

 

It's a nice change from the previous rule that our Sean Bean must die so that another may live.

 

Well, I need to run to the store later anyway, and Sean Bean's survival has sold me on trying Yorkshire tea, so can anyone recommend me a brand that's easy to find in the States? Top quality for top dollar is not necessary, as I don't have a taster's palate at all; reliably decent is fine.

 

When it comes to tea, there is one option only:

 

If you haven't shopped already, go for Yorkshire Gold. If your market has an " International " aisle, that's where you'll find it. The regular Yorkshire is pretty good too. Must admit I get mine from Amazon.

 

Nope, haven't yet. The rain that was supposed to stop around lunchtime, then around midafternoon, still hasn't. Tomorrow, definitely probably. International aisles (and markets) abound here, so hopefully finding that shouldn't be a problem. Thanks!

 

Deluxe because I already own all the routes included with the Special edition.

 

I think I‘ll end up getting the standard edition now. Flying Scotsman looked cool no doubt, but nothing too different from the steam locos we have already. Plus, the straight mainline run they did was really boring to watch, I can’t imagine doing that more than once or twice. Apparently there’s a Jubilee railtour so I won‘t even miss out on ECML steam action. By the time they perhaps add Scotsman railtour layers to other routes, it will for sure already have been on discount many times.

Azuma looks nice, if a little bugged, but I'll be waiting to get it on other, more interesting segments of the line in the future. Which basically makes TSW4 a standalone Antelope Valley purchase for me, and therefore I'll wait for a US TSW4 starter bundle to be discounted if I do eventually decide to get it.

Also what's with the annoying barber shop pole in the top left of the HUD? Very distracting but doesn't seem to give any info like passenger loading progress?

you will still be able to use TSW3 hud though.

 

Watching the stream it just seemed to be always full and animated when the train was stopped at a station. A lot more garish than the simple circular bar filling up. Definitely not a HUD choice I'd have active. Seems odd for a "minimalist" hud to have something so "busy".

 

Was thinking Deluxe Edition at the time of announcement, but... ehh. If I told myself from 2021 that I wouldn't be buying Train Sim World 4 for months after its release, he'd think I was crazy [insert really funny "Krazy" joke]. I've just found myself disappointed by way too many things such as train sounds and details, underwhelming features, and what not. This isn't the type of thread for me to go into detail about every single thing I dislike now, so really it's just... yeahhhh I'll gladly wait until 2024

 

It indicates that there is currently a haircut being completed in one of the coaches. Here's hoping that they will add volumetric hair clippings being thrown out the coach windows.

 

Despite your name, you've taken the wise / smart path. Wait for more information / patches / etc. and get it when it feels right at half price. There's actually no downside to waiting. The content will just be in the same or better condition later.

 

Okay, you've convinced me, TSW5 needs to be in UE5 for the advanced hair rendering.

At the very least the 80% of passengers with ginger afros should appreciate it.
