This hud in the top right, how can I disable it but still display next signal and speed limit. Thanks I thought it was called track monitor in the settings at first but changing that I have no clue what it changes, but it’s not that hud.
Track Monitor turned it off for me - are you sure you applied before you exited? Next Signal HUD and Next Speed Limit HUD turn the normal ones on the top right on, as before. Matt.
You can cycle through the settings using ctrl+4 if you have a keyboard available. This should work on PC, not sure how this works on XBOX.
just tried this, only option to remove the long distance is no display at all, all other options it stays I’ll get a video of the cycle of Ctrl 4, I just need to wait for the clip
Here’s what Ctrl 4 does on series x all options are with or non at all only way I know how to upload a video on forums is YouTube link so I unlisted it but available here
Turning "track monitor" on or off does nothing for me. It just stays on. I tried to go back to the old HUD but now it's missing the gradient indicator. So you can either have distance to objective or gradient, but not both. The HUD is such a mess i can't even pay attention to driving. Please allow us to fully revert the HUD, or get rid of that useless barber pole and bring back the distance counter! Edit: Platform is PC/Steam
I also am unable to turn off the track monitor on PS5, the setting just reverts to on as soon as I leave the settings menu, even if I save/apply.
set the hud to Normal it should fully match what you had. I'll get someone to look into why that track monitor setting isnt saving on console. Matt.
I’ll use all 3 In The meantime to avoid missing speed limits and signals, I like that the new one can see the ones after but it’s really hard to judge distances and I keep having to constantly watch it rather than ahead onto the tracks to not miss anything the original signal and speed limit countdown I always noticed whilst watching ahead.
Thanks! setting to normal did the trick for getting back the old HUD. Maybe that setting should be in "HUD and gameplay" rather than "accesibility"? Fwiw i'm having the perma-on track monitor on Steam, so it doesn't seem isolated to consoles. Btw i am really liking most of the new features- controller rumble is really nice once you tweak the settings. How do i spawn vehicles in free roam?
Same issue on PC/Steam, so the Xbox tag should be removed (I do not look into console threads) (opened a second thread, It's in the Troubleshooting section) The Track Monitor is even visible when on foot or in passenger mode. -also normal HUD has two modes - if you switch from Minimal to Normal, you'll have the barber pole and the thin font, switching from Simple to Normal will give you the old top left display with the standard bold typeface.
originally this was a question not a bug report, turns out it was an issue I have amended title tag and title to reflect what is happening.
So I'm not saying I spent the money I saved by not buying TSW4 on a jumbo bucket of popcorn.... ...But I'm not not saying that... Have no fear though, based on their previous form with TSW3, XBox UI and HUD issues present on launch will be fixed by buying TSW5.
It is not a Console Only issue, I'm on PC/Steam and it is the same there as I said. Why it works for Matt is because DTG always make the same mistake and do not test their game on an end-user setup, but on their development versions.
On PS4 (settings) Track monitor doesn’t turn off The minimal HUD (top left) is there but greyed out so you can barely see it The simple HUD only goes up to 100 mph so is useless for trains like the Azuma. It would be nice to show the gradient in the simple speedometer even if it’s just a basic line with the gradient number underneath or next to it. As much as I like the new music, it would be nice to have a setting to choose between the old TSW3 music or the new
