It is not often, if ever I have high expectations of a product and I get amazed. This is one of those times. Sounds-Brilliant! Graphics-Brilliant! Features-Brilliant! Physics-Brilliant! TSW4 is going to get some raving reviews by the gaming community. It deserves it.
I don't know how to react to this. Are you purposely creating overly enthusiastic posts or are these your genuine thoughts? Some things are well done. Bugs clearly exist but you seem to be ignoring them. So idk how to react
I don't know how familiar you are with this user, but it's their whole 'thing'. Ignore bugs, be overly positive, insult anyone who complains. Quite a few people on here including myself believe they're just trying to get DTG to make them an ambassador.
I'm very aware of who the user is, but I want to know all about his thoughts and what makes him post overly positive posts. Like what changed. I noticed his posts started changing with the initial tsw4 leaks
It certainly does come across that way. Why create this thread when he could have quite as easily posted it in one of the other feedback threads. Trying a bit too hard to get attention
I would block him but I find his posts funny in a cringe comedy way, a bit like the 'growing concrete' interview on TalkRadio or old Andrew Neil interviews before his show was axed.
Generally it is good but there are issues, mainly the Azuma sound as many have now expressed concerns over. For me the stand out feature is getting bridge reverb and rumble working, with the caveat it should have been there from Day 1 anyway and we don’t know whether it can be ported back to existing “cooked” routes and if it can whether DTG have the manpower and willingness to do so. I’m liking the new HUD too, again with the proviso that it needs a few tweaks to make it even better. Much more to explore as the days unfold and want to see the full layers on the new routes and explore our legacy content, once the DLC imports on 26th.
Yes I must give it to him there is never a dull thread when he’s about, however annoying he may or may not be. I must admit though TSW 4 so far has been an all things considered good experience for me so far. Loving the Azuma even if the pings are too quiet!
The OP does seem a bit over effusive, if they do really think that then more power to them I guess. I like what I have seen from TSW4 so far but it isn't perfect, there are some sound issues and some glitches some scenery elements and I am sure more things will be discovered. I have seen DTG ambassadors being critical often so to portray them as not being objective isn't fair in my opinion. However there have been a few posters recently whom, if they were new, would be considered to be trolls.
Indeed I was watching one of DadRails videos and he was doing a good job of being honest even if it was an early build so not sure what discrepancies there were with release. He seems to be okay with honest feedback though generally. Not sure why you've been called out for one sentence in a whole paragraph of TSW4 related stuff though.
WHAT? Sounds are mostly flat(horns are flat, CARL!). Volume levels are incorrect. Joints sounds, as always(almost), just pitiful.
Not sure about the 'Graphics - Brilliant'. I've checked many videos now and every one of them have major tree/vegetation pop-in. Which I dont have in TSW3 at all. I find it kinda weird that it looks like i'm the only one annoyed by it.
When I was going through a hard time in my life, I was wishing I could see the world through the eyes of a child again - where everything you see is stunning, amazing, brilliant no matter what. Or totally bad. Zeroes and Ones. Some people do have this ability.
While I understand the point you are trying to make, there are many children who had/have a awful life growing up. I do hope your life is better now though. Anyway, after buying the game to give it a try (Steam) and after changing the .ini for the bad popin problem, TSW 4 actually looks very good. I do hope the LOD distances will be able to be changed via the settings, because I want to buy it on PS5 also but not with the poor lods.
I wish I could see things in TSW as either black or white. But I can’t unsee some of the things I’ve seen which detracts from the quality.
Agree, my point was the unspoilt view of the world of a baby that looks at a butterfly in awe for example - these were moments when I thought "isn't growing up nothing but degenerating?", which it is in some way. Your screens do look great - it is about the right cloud percentage. On 50 to 90% everything starts to look very overexposed, so I'm usually playing with 15% clouds which gives the best saturation and contrast imho. More than that needs the GodMode "SkylightIntensity" slider to avoid having that overbright ambient cab light, or JetWash's mods. Very notable in the 801 training - you can hardly read the speedometer. ToD4 works like a camera with autoexposure, but not like the human eye. But - it is DTG's, not our game, and they seem to like it that way.
So you think that ground texture is briljant eh? I think it's rather bland and lacks a lot detail. But sure, keep drinking that Kool-Aid. Enjoy.
I don't know if it's because I've had a long day and I'm tired, but this short sentence had me laughing out loud to the point of my sides hurting lol
Those who have been around these forums for a while will remember Anthony P. We don't see him posting anymore but he had a very similar style to OP and defended DTG to the hilt. Theres nothing wrong with negative feedback as long as it's constructive....DTG will openly agree to this
As much as I don’t think the OP is really delving into much critical feedback, whether that be stating why they think such feature/mechanic is great the way it is. I still think I’m seeing a fair bit of unfair reactions to their posts at times.
Absolutely nothing wrong with constructive negative feedback however the last few weeks have seen plenty of non-constructive negative feedback, some of it akin to trolling and also people turning on others for having a different viewpoint.
Isnt ot anOP who was chasing DTG some time ago for copyrights bs in thier dioramas and buildings (like some brands visible on the fake facade shops)?
I don't remember the same kind of rancor a couple of years ago as we are seeing now; maybe I was not reading the same topics then. But something has happened and it's a bit sad, as I used to get a lot of good information on Forums and saw honest respectful discussion, even in disagreement about things. Example: I am not buying TSW4 right away because I oppose the paywall. I understand many players have no problem with that approach and that is fine. But I won't be told by (another poster) that I will have "fear of missing out" and then will buy it. I think this is kind of what you mean by trolling, and yes it's not on.
Well that and people being called stupid for buying TSW4 by people who can't understand that some people get enjoyment out of it and want the new routes and features. There has been discontent from both "sides" but I have to say in particular at the this time the "DTG are awful" brigade have been particular vociferous. Plus there are the usual posters repeating the same DTG are broke or in trouble trope.
Absolutely right; what to buy or not to buy should always be an individual choice and people's choices should be respected - not dictated. I have always waited a while to buy the newest version because of the track record of releases going back several years; but I don't begrudge those who like the yearly release cycle/paywall now in place - happy for those who are excited about Antelope Valley and Vorarlberg (I am not). That may change if content that is more interesting to me is released later. Plus, DTG are not awful, or we wouldn't be investing in and playing their games. They read the Forums and I'm sure they appreciate both praise and constructive criticism.
