The game definitely needs announcements as it adds an extra layer of realism. If you are standing on the platform and announcement play it lets you know where trains are. Alot of the announcements are covered by copyright laws that are seperate to licences for rail franchises, so they can't use the existing ones without paying extortionate amounts of money Hence why Rivet used their own VA on E-G and the station announcements are generic
