During the flying scotsman scenario "Re-Record" one of the objectives is to reach 100MPH to reenact that special moment. So I'm barrelling down the track full pelt, and pushing 75/80mph, i just cant get to 100, my skin starts to leak a bit then i check the map and see I've about 20% off track left before i go smashing through a wall or station causing nothing but holocaustal chaos. So i leave it and eventually gravity goes in my favour and i hit 100mph, a trophy pops and then that beautiful orchestra kicks in to celebrate that moment, i just sat there and let the music play and the train coasted peacefully, then i rolled into the station and made a perfect stop. It was such a peaceful moving moment for some reason. Very well done DTG, now just work on fixing those trophies
I like JP, there are plenty of profile avatars unrelated to TSW, and I’m in the middle of cresting an INGEN train in livery design mode.
Nice post, I got the Steam achievement a bit differently, definitely a bug when it popped, I somehow got it while reversing at 10mph into a siding lol.
If you like that music score, do the Blockbuster scenario on the Antelope Valley Line, epic AF But yes, I do agree that adding the little orchestral pieces after you get the main objective of the game is so cool. I recorded the Re-Record scenario with the purpose of that being the first TSW4 video that we did on the YouTube channel and for them to put that in the game, for me both as not just a content creator but a viewer as well, it really felt like a sense of accomplishment. When me and my brother do our narration on it, I know we have already both said that as soon as the score starts, we are going to cut out so everyone can appreciate the same thing that we appreciated
Fortune favours the brave! Lovely story Manfonse. When the Mallard did her high speed run she limped home afterwards. These things were not without risk...
I attempted this last night. Just got the go ahead to hit 100mph when the game froze then booted me to the home screen. Restarted TSW4 to get the message "Peterborough-Doncaster needs an update"... I'll try again tonight.
I reached 99 mph twice. The game did not proceed to the next instructions (brake and stop). So about 4 miles from Petersborough I gave up and began the approach to the station. I also stopped a few steps from the red signal hoping to trigger the final instruction (stop at the station) but nothing. I was stopped at the station with the instruction to reach 100 mph on the screen. I'll have to repeat the entire scenario hoping to reach 100 mph otherwise the game won't continue.
If the instruction was to reach 100mph, but you only reached 99mph, then of course it didn’t complete?
Other than going full throttle without ever touching the brakes I don't know what else to do. 2 races done: in the first I even got a penalty because in the 75 mph section I passed at around 85. In the second race I passed in that section at 73 mph. Then full throttle until the yellow signal to reduce to 30 mph, just outside Petersborough. In both cases the needle stopped at 99 mph. Not re-rerecord, it seems more realistic to me, no? Update: Managing the pressure on the third run I hit 104 mph. But if you always drive full throttle without keeping the pressure high, the maximum speed you can reach is 99 mph.
