TSW4 comes out tomorrow, and I'd like to ask you guys, which routes will benefit the most from free mode in your opinion.

For me, I'd have to say LIRR would benefit as the yards can finally be filled and not emptied.

I second this. Probably all of them. I will likely use it way more than running a timetable or scenario, especially on like Antelope Valley. So I can run weekend trains and so I don't have to deal with the 2 part scenario's.

Weekend Trains. How does that differ from the weekday trains?

I am looking forward to putting locos into service mode. Often I want to make a scenario running up a line in a specific train but it is very tedious to set up all the AI traffic. This way it's all good to go waiting for me to screw it up somehow.

Six round trips instead of 11, different times, different train numbers.

Here is the Saturday/Sunday schedule. Note different times and train numbers as well as only 6 round trips:

For reference, here's the full weekday schedule (which is included in the TSW4 timetable). Note different train numbers and times during the week as well as 11 roundtrips, 9 of which between LA-Lancaster and 2 LA-Princessa:

Note: All of this is subject to change fairly soon as Metrolink is due to put out a new schedule that might affect train times. Train crews bid on their new jobs in October which may affect the schedule. They're also working on adding additional roundtrips between LA-Lancaster. At its peak pre-COVID schedule, the line saw somewhere around 14 roundtrips.

A free roam scenario will allow you to run a weekend schedule (if you were to follow it in real time for example) and would eliminate the need to switch to Part 2 of the scenario on the weekday timetable included. Free roam you can just run all the way through.

Munich has lots of almost unused rail areas, lets see how the Vectron handles MAG's old lighting though

    Literally ALL of them! :)

but in terms of personal preference and excitement, NEC: New York to Trenton!

The new timetable which includes a total of 2,000+ services (5x the original amount in the TSW3 timetable) will be released and 0 of them will be freight (as these layers had to be removed due to performance and stability concerns).

With free roam integrated into service mode, we will be able to take our own freight through the busy timetable. REALLY forward to that! :)
