Yeah it never changed and it’ll be worse with new DLCs coming soon… TSW6 will takes 8 minutes to load.
At least your game loaded, mine keeps crashing to the home screen on Series X every... single... time
Can I check you've: Selected the Game on Xbox Dashboard Press 'View' button to Quit the game Fully power down console, remove plug, leave for 30 seconds, power up again Also, can I check how many Add-ons you have installed?
Hi JD, I've gone through all of those steps, with no luck. I had the AC adapter removed from the back of the console for a few minutes while I fed the dog, so the cache should be completely cleared. As of writing I have 74 DLC installed (although I think some are missing, as has been noted on the Day One DLC FAQ). This has been an issue in the past on a less powerful console, like the One X. My Series X has always loaded 1 through 3 with all DLC installed (3 would hiccup occasionally).
I misspoke, I have 82 DLC installed I also wanted to note that everything is on the internal drive, not the external Seagate SSD
Same here, every time I try to do a service on the updated New York-Trenton timetable, the game crashes for me, and I’m on Series S
I installed TSW3 briefly without DLC to check something in the interface and it wouldn't load properly. I guess it needs at least one bit of DLC to properly load or it gets stuck at the loading screen, training centre not enough.
I have all the DLC's installed. Loading screen takes a long time to load, if it does not crash. It is crashing also at different parts in the game, if game managed to load.
I made few attempts (tsw4standard+80 addons) ctd while loading the game everytime (ticket submitted). Not very surprised though
I know I’m on PC but TSW4 with all the DLC installed is taking noticeably longer to load than any iteration before it. Previous versions have been almost instantaneous whereas now there’s a 10-20 second or so delay with music playing before the first ordinary loading screen shows up. First world problem I guess but I can see if people don’t have NvMe drives it could become a royal pain. I assume the culprit is the Content Manager (I forget it’s correct name).
I’m on the Ps5 with the deluxe version and 68 dlc’s added. All works fine and takes about a minute to load from the start. I must be one of the lucky ones without any crash issues. Will update if it changes.
Same issue on Series X. I’ve got 80 add ons currently installed and kicks me at the loading screen. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, which took a while, but no success.
I reformatted the Xbox series s. It still done it. But what I did i restarted the console. It took about 3 to 4 min. Then it came on started to work. But I have to do that several time.
Unfortunately Trenton is a memory beast asking for more than the series S can give. Should be a reduced time table I think?
It's not just me then I was thinking how long it took sometimes mine doesn't load and goes back to the dashboard I'm on series x frustrating tbh
Yes Matt said that on first load it takes longer to catalogue your addon collection. It speeds up after the first time but it will still be slower than without the addon manager.
That's probably your problem unfortunately. Series S doesn't have enough Ram for timetable, its a Microsoft thing on this occasion
Look no further, you can thank Add-on Manager for the increased load time. With TSW3 it was only added to PS5, but with TSW4 all platforms already have it built in. Edit: this is not BS or supposition, Matt recently said in another thread that AOM was a likely cause of extended loading times.
Same issues here: Long loading times, and so far a 50% crash rate at load on Xbox Series X with almost all (82) DLCs installed - everything is on the internal drive. Prior to installing old TSW content yesterday, TSW4 ran just fine with the pre-access TSW4 content only. I'm also getting in-game crashes trying to load certain scenarios - this happens every time I try to start it. The loading screen shows up, the spinning circle thingy spins for a second or so, then it all freezes up, music stops, and then eventually the Xbox terminates the game. The game seems to freeze right before it should switch to one of the community photos. This is the list I have seen the issue with so far: Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel - Würzburg: Lonely Road Eco Pride Southeastern High Speed Temporary Contract Bahnstrecke Bremen - Oldenburg Stormbringer Great Western Express Class 166 introduction I will update the list if I come across more. Since this is not isolated to a specific route or scenario, I have feeling it's more of a generic problem. Update Sep 29: I have had the issue with many other scenarios, timetables, and training modules - too many to list here. In all cases though, I have been able to get them started with perseverance and patience: Just keep trying, and eventually it will load. Leaves lots of room for coffee and snacks - because of the often-seen crashes during startup of the game. PS. I tried registering an account so I can submit a bug, but I never get the registration confirmation email nor the "forgot password" email. If I try to register again, it says the email is already taken, so I can't try to register again. Thus I can't submit a ticket at this point.
Are we going to get add ons manager for xbox like the ps5 had it takes a long time for the game to load but other than that it works fine for me
They added add-ons manager to all platforms for TSW4, it's probably why Xbox load times are now as slow as on PS5.
The more dlc that gets released, the long wait times. I own about 90% of all the dlc for the PS5. It takes me just over a minute to load all mine. Starting time from the spinning circular icon, then transitioning onto the main menu.
Forgive me for my inability to grasp the concept, but with add-on or content manager installed, what actually loads on start- up? Not route files right. Just core content? So why would it make load times longer?
Ironic, isn't it? DTG have said ( rightly ) that they will not stop supporting 8th generation hardware ( including for this purpose Series S ), but it's kinda happening anyway, as time and TSW iterations move on. Makes you wonder if TSW4 will be the last supported version of the game for older hardware.
There's only so long you can egg something out, at some point you focus on current gen. I guess we will find out one day
Yep, also on PC the load is significantly longer. Looks like all DLC are scanned during load process, as now the random scenario picker is instant. As it previously it would took as much, as game loading takes now. I don't really understand why things like these are not cached, if no .pak files were added/removed/modified, why does the game need to parse all the data? This will only become worse with more DLC.
