I have the exact same problem tsw4 does not work on my xbox series x keeps crashing on the loading screen

 

Is urs doin the same ?

 

Im having same issue im not even getting past the loading screen tried over a hour now and it keeps crashing this is ridiculous

 

After another 20mins of me trying, I've just managed to complete the 801 introduction and now doing the first run on journey mode. Will see how long before it crashes again.

And yeah, it's not great. If all add-ons being brough forward, you would have hoped that the game would actually work with them all installed.

Yea mine now has decided it wont go past the loading screen and straight to dashboard

 

Its gettin a joke everything worked yesterday now nothing since all my dlc is installed its like it cant cope hope dtg get a very quick fix for it but i do doubt that

 

So I have the exact same problem. Talking with the support team, I’ve uninstalled all 80 odd elements and am re-adding route by route. Got ECML and SEHS full timetable working well and am now adding in the Austrian route.
Have to say I can only do this as I’m having a day off and as a professional systems engineer I really do wonder what QA activity went on to assure the game on Xbox before it was released as this is fundamental stuff. But I’ve promised myself I won’t rant as it’s just shouting into the void!

 

That's my project after work today, drip feeding DLC back into the game. I don't understand how this got missed during Xbox QA.

I sympathise. Thinking of billing DTG for my time as stand in QA as even with super fast fibre broadband, 80 odd game elements won’t be a five minute job!

Hmmmm.... tempted to do this myself actually. I guess it's better to be able to play what you normally play than not be able to play anything. I do usually sway towards the UK routes so i could just start with them.

On xbx we have 280gb of addons, and:
1) ctd problem when starting the game
2) ctd problem when loading services (in my case for example NYT and ECM always crash befoe loading full timetable setvice)
It seems a hell lotta issue to QA don't expect solutio soon.

69 DLC"s installed totaling 218GB.

Crashes always happen on loading screen, and if you are lucky to get in the game, you can do one scenario or tutorial, and it will crash once you go back to main menu.

Apart from the easy to reproduce crashes as described above, there are some random ones as well. Selecting a route, free roam etc.

Hopefully this will gets resolved soon.

 

hello, playing on Xbox series x, 86 Add ons installed, same crash problems everyone else is facing, sometime it loads, sometimes it doesnt even get past the loading screen, very very unstable

I have finally got all of my content over from TSW3. Been playing it since yesterday. Firstly I'm enjoying some of these new features, I like the volumetric fog, I like the new tracks, especially Antelope Valley and I like the new detail introduced to the sceneries.

However I have had some issues since loading in my content yesterday.

• I have had multiple CTD's. I had two on launch that crashed back to the xbox UI whilst the splash screen was on with the music (The special edition red/yellow screen)
• I have had several crashes whilst loading in routes. I had a crash on London Commuter, The Doncaster Route and Trenton and a few others. Reloading the game seems to have fixed it so far, if I get anymore I will log them in this post.
• Some of the trains feel a bit quieter than before. Some of the newer trains feel very quiet and the ambience volume outside seems louder. On Antelope Valley the trains are deathly silent but im not sure if this is what they are like in real life. Is that correct?
• I've had quite a bit of stuttering on my routes. Does the XBOX series X need to build a shader cache on the first run through like PC?
• I have no passengers on my Trenton Route since the updated timetable. I've done one scenario and two timetable routes and have had no passengers. In NY Penn there were no passengers but lots of trains.

And last but not least and I know its not a bug but, shadows seem to pop in more than ever and they are really distracting. Is there no way to address this? I thought it was better in TSW3 but it seems to have gotten worse. Its killing a beautiful looking sim for me. Is there no way you can load the whole route in first rather than streaming it?

Anyway thought I'd feedback what ive found so far. Thanks for TSW4!

I wonder if this possibility was behind Sony's rationale for their 64GB DLC limit.

How does TSW4 work with only TSW4 content? Could previous game dlc be part of the issue.

 

yes, the issues only started yesterday/today since downloading older content, either there's some code it doesn't like or poor optimisation strikes again

 

It worked fine for me during early access. I even did a clean install on all of the legacy DLC to ensure it would be current and not trying to pull from TSW3 (which was completely uninstalled, DLC and all, after I transferred my progress).

 

Same, I’ve been getting a number of crashes now all (most) of my dlc is installed on start up of TSW4, straight back to homepage no message.

I'm leaning optimization. My father-in-law's Xbox One X gave up on loading TSW3, doing the same thing... loading screen for 5 to 10 minutes then crash to desktop. I tried an experiment with it one weekend and drip fed DLC back into it one at a time, starting the game each time, loading with no issues, until I got about half of my DLC (around 40 or so, if I remember correctly). After that magic number, back to the loading screen hang up all over again.

On my Series X at home TSW3 would every now and then do this to me with all of my DLC installed, but would load up after a 2nd or 3rd try.

I tried TSW4 8 or 9 times last night, and every time it would go to the loading splash screen with the music then dump me to the desktop every time.

The response to my support ticket was that I try removing some of my lesser used DLC, which I will try later, but why should I have to install and reinstall content as needed. TSC on my ten year old Lenovo handles loading the hundreds and hundreds of DLC without issue, why is optimization on such a powerful new console so bad? And how was it missed and/or ignored so badly during testing?

 

I've had exactly the same experience with Series X as yourself. 2 or 3 attempts to load TSW3 and now very little to no chance of loading TSW4 with everything installed.

I managed to get TSW4 ECML Class 801 introduction loaded up nearly 4hrs ago, and I've been playing ECML fine with no issues.

Seams like initial loading of everything... Xbox says no. If u get passed that, going into a route, its struggling to decide what it needs and crashes there. If u manage to get passed that, its running okay (not tried free roam or any other routes though yet!)

 

As I see the 1st support solution is: Guys try the PS5 bread Throw awy half of your dlc and happily enjoy our "new game". PS5 fate is upon us guys.

 

I have the same very frustrating issue on Series X too. TSW 4 worked fine during Early Access, but since yesterday - with the rollout of all compatible collection - TSW 4 now keeps crashing on the loading screens. It has crashed about 3-4 times when quitting a gameplay session during the loading back to the main menu. Then, today, the game actually crashed multiple times upon launch during the loading menu.

I'm very disappointed with this - considering that TSW 3 never had this issue. Please fix this!

 

All German content (including loco DLC) except Linke Rheinstrecke, as well as Luzern-Sursee and LGV, plus NY-Trenton, Boston Sprinter, LIRR, Harlerm Line, M3 and Acela loco add-ons.

Edit: Forgot to mention this is TSW 4 Delux with the Vectron and Flying Scotsman.

 

Per my Support Ticket request, and out of curiosity I removed about ten DLC from the game while I was home for lunch, around 25GB worth. Unsurprisingly the game still crashes. I really don't want to remove half my purchased content to play this game, nor should I have to.

Out of curiosity... I know DLC for Flight Simulator on console has bulky file sizes. Do any MSFS players here have any loading issues with a full collection of planes and airports?

My issue was not getting past the splash screen without CTD with all DlLCs installed.

Having removed them all I have got as far as installing ECML, SEHS and NY Trenton with all associated addons and can still load and play full timetables (although NY Trenton is on the edge as I had at least one out of memory crash). I’m now adding Dresden/ Riesa + addons to the mix to see if I get any further. On Xbox X btw
